My dad's family is from Chimbai. Was so happy to hear them mention it. My nana used to wear the short lugra. Today, only two aunties in the village wear it, and only one of them wears it that way - my grand aunt Philu.
Very beautiful. I am in Africa snd it brought back memories of my Aunties who wore the lugra. Thank you for reviving the tradition. Very well explained Keep it up.Thank you
Thank you for a very informative interview, perfectly conducted, giving the interview ample time to express himself! My mother and her sisters worked for the British, especially during WWII, and so they wore dresses. Their mother, my grandmother wore the Lugra till her death.
Wow....am so glad to know the authentic east Indians lugra is being carried forward and efforts are being made to continue the beautiful culture ....aamchi mai used to wear it...exactly showen....am truly thrilled and happy..❤😊😘 thank you so much Morgan
Wow! So nice to go back to the days when we were young and our grandmother and aunties used to wear the red lugra complete with the Payal’s, kaputie earrings (hope I got the spelling right), pader/poth and during festivals the gold flowery hair pin placed on the hair bun. later they switched on to the navy blue lugra. I do wear the lugra for EI wedding pani. And love dancing the EI dance. I’m born n brought up in Bandra. Still can picture my dad playing the goomut and singing those lovely EI songs. I’m proud to be an East Indian. Thanks Morgan for reviving our tradition. God Bless
Thanks Morgan for showcasing our culture and most important reviving the weave . Have seen my granny wear two ways of Lugra . At home the short version and while going to church Ubha lugra❤. Please can you share where can I buy Sonkari Lugra

Zari work sarees were worn a lot by d Parsi women, who were settled in Udvada, Surat, Gujarat, which is quite close to Maharashta, which was one as Maha Gujarat, till it got divided into two states.

Isnt it strange that even in rural Bihar and Jharkhand elderly villagers used to call the Sari as Lugga. Today ofcourse the original names are dying out....
Very nice Video. Very well explained. If possible any aunty knows to drape arva lugra ( short lugra which they used to drape when they used to go to the fields. My Grandmother used to drape but unfortunately did not learn frm her. Your Model Wifes Sharon looks Beautful. Sonkari looks Original.
Whats with the weird trend of having a marijuana flag during celebrations. People wear tshirts and add it to the decor. No context whatsoever just blind herd mentality in the community.
Informative video. It is beleive that CHITTAPAVAN BRAHMINS of mhaharashtrians are not from India but from Europe. Can you make video on this community ?
