Nice that they have a good selection on the IFE. However when I fly I look for seat comfort, meal service and the reputation or experience I have had with that airline's Flight Attendants. That pretty much puts United and all other US flagged airlines at the bottom of my list. I have had over the years, horrendous cabin service on United especially. I honestly believe that being a former correctional officer is a prerequisite for being a United FA! Give me any Asian airline always for exceptional cabin service and fantastic meals even in Economy Class! Thanks for your comprehensive review. As always, take care and Happy Travels!

787s are used for domestic flights all the time, while still revenue flights, they use them to get the plane to a city to fly internationally. Like 787 domestic from dallas to chicago, then chicago to say london

i was yesterday on a united 787-9 flight from SFO to AMS and is was a great flight with exellent legroom and food. and most suprisingly, the crew was very nice.(btw you said that the pack of pretzels is no more but i can confim that is it still served. at least on my flight xd)

Yes US airlines are not always known for the best service and best stuff like Emirates and Etihad, but they have their strengths, they’re not that bad. I flew American Airlines from Chicago (ORD) to London (LHR) and the crew was pretty nice. I also flew from Dublin (DUB) to Chicago (ORD) and the crew were amazing. My only complaint is that the food was quite small and limited in choices
If you are go to EWR, you should try to go to New Brunswick or Princeton... both accessible by public transit. There is so much more to NJ than just being in between NYC and Philadelphia!
Another great report. Too many vloggers ignore Economy Class, you're forging a new path! I was a bit in and out of this but I didn't see any beer, wine or spirits. Did I miss something or is this another reason to avoid United on international flights? Even the tiny pack of four micro pretzels is gone! Nickel-and-diming can only go so far before more customers fly east to go west! And so they should.

4:52 I definitely agree on the IFE. I flew IAH to NRT on United back in March and the IFE selection was awesome. Flew ANA from NRT IAD on the way back and their IFE selection was extremely sparse. Was thoroughly disappointed.
Ill be back in Barcelona in roughly two months for a three week cruise with one week around the Med and then back to Tampa. I am flying in from SFO and spend a few days in Barcelona a beautiful city.
It does seem like their meal service is worse now than a year ago when I flew with them. Although that was from LHR-SFO, so the food would be more substantial. However the IFE was better on this flight, obviously the plane we flew on was a Boeing 777, not the 787-10.
@@Jack3md But doesn't UA let the caterer know the specs of the meals they serve to passengers? The caterers only prepare what UA contracts them to prepare, and those portions are definitely on the smaller side.
I think the reason why the IFE screen wasn’t working on your United’s 787-10 transcontinental flight is because the airplane back then was brand new and everything wasn’t set up yet on the IFE!
To me those are very redundant. When I was on my first trip to the US, I got SSSS printed on my boarding pass as well. The secondary security screening is just searching through your bag, a small metal scan ur body and your bag, and some passengers go through body search.
I love economy for the food. Any meal they serve i will eat. Im not personally a huge business class fan when it comes to their food. I just prefer economy meals
You didn't show us the legroom, so Il assume it was Economy Standard, and I'll also assume they gave you earbuds. The IFE and the food looked pretty good, and you had all the outlets you needed. I'm glad that United did a good job on this flight - even if they did leave out the pretzels.
Simply Aviation, United should domestically fly their 787-8 and 787-9 dreamliners since passengers are practicing social distancing. United should fly their 787-10 dreamliners internationally.

All USA bound flights out of NZ and Australia there is secondary security screening for all non American passport holders.

They aren't United's meals, they are prepared in the city you fly out of, like Barcelona, then they hand them off to United when boarding.
