    Thank you so much Cougan. I've listened to this specific video several times since January as I went through a storm. This message helped me stay positive and bridle my tongue against saying anything negative on social media while people were waiting for a reaction through my hard time. I even took a video of a peacock at the park and posted it on social media when I was having a hard time because you had reminded me to admire God's creation, so I shared that to keep my focus on God's blessings. You don't know how much the Lord used your video to help me. This is a very important topic, and it has helped me be a more positive Christian and not put out additional negativity in to the world. The Lord used this video to help restrain me, thankful!

      I am so glad to hear that my video has been helpful to you during your storm. It is always encouraging to hear how God is using my words to touch people’s lives. I know it can be difficult to stay positive and bridle our tongues when we are going through a difficult time. But it is important to remember that our words have power, and we can use them to build people up or tear them down.
      I am grateful that you took my message to heart and used it to help you stay positive and focused on God’s blessings. Thank you for sharing your story with me. It is inspiring, and it reminds me of the importance of proclaiming God’s Word. So, hang in there!

    We have been searching for a church with good biblical teaching, and I feel like we finally found it. We have searched so many churches on here, and haven't found one that sticks to the Bible. Thank you for sharing truth.

      Nice to meet you. I know it more difficult to preach the truth there as there are consequences to certain Bible topics that are considered hate speech there.

    Doesn’t the Church of Christ believe you go to Hell if you use instruments to worship God?

    • @LGministry
      @LGministry  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for the question. First, I cannot speak for everyone who calls themselves church of Christ, but what I can tell you is what the Bible teaches. Those of us who practice New Testament Christianity strive to worship God in spirit and in truth (Jn. 4:24). In spirit is from the heart and truth is from the Word of God. Since we love God and want to obey His commands (Jn. 14:15), we do those things that He has given us to do in His Word, which is how we follow His will (Mt. 7:21). We are under the new covenant, which means we cannot use the laws of the old covenant. If we did, we would have a Levitical priesthood, animal sacrifices, stoning of disobedient children, etc.
      Anything we offer God in the way of worship, we want to give Him what He asked for. Under the old covenant, God commanded the use of musical instruments (2 Chron. 29:25) and many other physical acts, but when you get the New Testament, God did away with nearly all the physical rituals. Instead of using musical instruments God commands us to sing (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16) so we sing. There is not one command or example of the church worshipping God with musical instruments. So, if we add musical instruments then we are adding things God didn't command. When we add things, He didn't command it is considered vain worship.
      When it comes to judgment day, Jesus will be our judge and we will be judged by the Word of God (Jn. 12:48). So, I ask you, would you want to be guilty of worshiping God in a way that He didn't command on that day? I know I wouldn't. When you think about, why do people want to use musical instruments in the first place? Some might claim that is their talent or others simply like musical instruments. Some rock out like it's a concert because they want to do those things that please them instead of giving God what He commanded. Some people are good at shooting, sports, and other things, but no one would worship God using these talents. There is not a thing wrong with doing these things on our own time for our own pleasure, but when it comes to worshipping God, let's give Him what He commanded. So, this is why I don't worship with a MI. I love my God too much to defy Him by adding things that I want instead of keeping it simple and doing what He wants.

      @@LGministry Thank you for the reply. You said that there is no example of people worshipping God with instruments in the New Tetament. First, I have to respectfully say that a doctrine that requires such a lengthy and circuitous explanation with, at best, vague indirect evidence, is suspect and stretching a point. Usually this happens when a church has a man-made doctrine and tries to stitch together evidence that really isn’t related to the point they’re trying to prove.. for example, Is there an example in the New Testamemt of using a pulpit when preaching in church or could your above argument be used to declare its use unscriptural?

    • @LGministry
      @LGministry  Před 2 lety

      I am not stitching anything together. There is nothing vague about what I said. I will make it even shorter. We are under the new covenant, which is the law of Christ. Under that law, we are commanded to sing. Therefore, we sing and don't play. That is the pattern found in the N.T. and in early church history. They sang, and didn't play. The example part just shows how they followed the command.
      You are argument about a pulpit will not work because whether you are using a pulpit, a lake, or any open area, you are still preaching. A pulpit is just an aid and doesn't add anything to the command to preach. However, when you add MI, you are adding something in addition to singing so that more than singing is happening. Therefore, MI are additions and cannot be labeled as aids. I hope that makes sense. Let's give God what He asked for instead of what we want. Is that fair?

    • @gman1550
      @gman1550 Před 2 lety

      @@LGministry whether you sing with or withou MI you are still singing. Same voices, same words. Those don’t change. And as a pulpit is “aid” as you say, so are MI. Not one of the scriptures you quoted to support the argument that worshiping with MI sends you to Hell says one word about MI, neither for or against. Not one of your supporting verses mentions MI.

    • @LGministry
      @LGministry  Před 2 lety

      An aid is something that can be used that add to thing being done. For example, if I preach using a mic or lectern, the ONLY thing that is happening is preaching. Nothing is being added. However, if I add MI to my singing, it is not aiding because it adding something in addition to my singing, which is noise. Therefore it an addition to the command to sing and adds an additional component. However, a song book is an aid as you helps you to see the words you are singing, but the song book makes no noise and does not add anything to the singing.
      If a dad sends his son to the store 5 dollars and tells him to get some milk and cookies and the boy decides to grab a candy bar as well, then he has added something his father did not authorize and will be in trouble for adding to what he said.
      Think of it this way. The Lord's Supper consist of unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine. Most agree with this and understand that we are not add things like jelly to the bread or add hamburgers and lemonade. The Lord's Supper is similar example as the command to sing because if we can add MI though God commanded us to sing then we can add what we want to the LS since He didn't specifically forbid anything being added to the LS. If not, why not?
      I hope you can see the flaw in your logic now. Again, let's give God what He commanded without adding to it.
