After seeing this video, I really want to catch up on some of the Monstercat releases. With a few exceptions(mainly when an artist I liked just so happened to release on the label), I kind of didn't really listen to Monstercat for many years mainly because the styles from the artists on the label just weren't for me. I'm not throwing shade because the label still has some of the most creative artists in all of electronic music. I just so happened to be really fond of 2012-2016 stuff personally. Although I'm not a huge fan of the poppy edm stuff, there's a lot of gold on here and I'm quite surprised how much certain artists have grown over the years(like Aether).
There are 50 songs for Monstercat Best Of 2023 exclusive 30 songs for Uncaged and 10 songs for Instinct & Silk. Bad Computer is the #1 song on 2023. Merry Christmas.
Even though I really loved & couldn't stop vibing with Land of the Living by BC & Justify by No Mana in general (that were in your bottom half) especially when it's an evening or night-time road trip with my dad, it's a really nice pick you did at #1, the sounds & drop in that song is pretty cool & solid. :)
I also even notice that both your birthday release (The Law by F.O.O.L & PYLOT) while watching through this ranking vid, and my birthday release (Quantum Level by Au5) were both in this complication which I think is really cool & impressive (since I think this was the first time on that if I'm correct on that).
Our taste kinda similar apart from Fall Apart & Quantum level, the song i despise the most being higher than Other Side remix but imma drop a kinda hot takes ? This comp is what you expect from a full of artist bias voter. Either they automaticly vote all track from their favorite artist ( 5 bossfight tracks seriously ?), a sucker for a huge artist comeback where their last release was a millinium years ago (just a gent, voicians, haywyre) or a huge collab from big artist even tho the track itself doesnt even good imo (feeling free, powerplay, full speed) If they continue with this format (30 uncaged,10 instinct,10silk) and no limitiation on how many track from one artist can get into the comp, theres no chance for other artist who actually made a good song get into this "Best of" series.
I mean there’s always gonna be tracks that people think are the best that don’t make it on the comp. It’s always been like that and I think they not only made it a bit more inclusive with the 30-10-10 rule, but a lot of the picks here are of really well-made songs, despite personal preference. Imo, this is prone of the best Best Of comps they’ve put out in years
@@TVRXorro if you look it from the song quality perspective, yeah i agree this is one of the best "Best of" series. but if you look into how many artist and how many their tracks that got in, its one of the worst imo

If it was the actually label coming up with this Tracklist then I can understand that frustration but since this is what the majority of the fans voted, then I honestly don’t really see an issue with it. Is it unbalanced at times? Absolutely, but nearly all of the fan-voted comps are like that so it really ultimately comes down to personal preference between each track

Though I wish Pump, Ignite, and Burbank Nights made it in, still a great selection for this year's best.

so happy that Snakes & Ladders and Valhalla made it on the list. This is one hell of a compilation, stacked with so many incredible songs
