my 25 years old daughter Jessica died on october 3rd 2016 in her sleep :( and this was one of her favorite songs, so we played it at her funeral and many of us sang along in tears. thank you Amy Lee for that great song
I love the song. I should not mention it, but Amy Lee's voice, although pretty and perfectly on tune, is too delicate. She is overwhelmed by her own piano playing, and the band is even more dominating. Whet we need here is a Grace Slick or Patsy Cline to really sing this.
I loved that moment when Amy playing the piano and the crowd just screamed their hearts out loud and she whisphered "wow.." like she still does not realize how great of an artist she is!
Interestingly, when I saw them live a while before this recording was made, she struggled with this song. This setup however really works, and the song is beautifull. Involving the crowd really adds to the song, and it helps her turning it from something difficult into something stunningly beautifull.
There are those special vocalists that there will never be another of. They are irreplaceable. Freddie Mercury, Aretha Franklin, Robert Plant, Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston to name some of the very few. I think Amy Lee will be one of those. Her voice is just so stunningly and hauntingly beautiful. It’s iconic and it will go down in history.
The way you described her voice is what I was searching for all this time. It is indeed "Hauntingly beautiful" Nothing else described better than it. 👍
fun fact, this song was written by Ben the original guitarist and her ex - friend, and Amy actually said she hates this song, wasn't one of her favourites.
This is probably the best crowd in any concert I know. Knowing all the words to a song is one thing but to be able to show emotions and appreciation is another. True fans for sure
I get it, it's amazing.. Check out System of A Down Assyrian show. They say 10 thousand, nah, it's definitely over a million. In the rain not fazed. The best only show i wish I could have been there.
Even thought the fan base for this band is generally considered “emo” or more “girl rock” or whatever bullshit label you want to throw at it, talent is fucking talent. I’m much more of a metal/hard rock/grunge type, but I’ll listen to Amy Lee knock this out of the park any day. Easily amongst the most incomparable and encompassing voices in the rock world.
My Mum passed away 3 June 2022, one month ago... I haven't been able to cry until I listened to this... Thank you... I've always loved this song and now it hits home... The lyricists are so gifted, such an eloquent and simple way of putting all those feelings into perspective.
I am so sorry for your loss. I think of my Dad when I hear this song, I lost him 15 March 2010. Some days it feels like a lifetime ago, some feel like it was yesterday. 💔❤️🩹🙏
When you're in the recording studio it's easy to sweeten the mix to make someone sound better than they really are. When you're live there's no safety net. She really is that good.
Isn't it wonderful seeing people with lighters instead of fucking cellphones in the video? And people who are actually ENJOYING the concert and singing along, as opposed to seeing all the audience recording with their phone camera. Sweet 2004, when life was still normal in so many ways. I am to be a Millennial that was born early enough to have enjoyed the end of the 90's and the beginning of the 2000's in the music industry.
Couldn't agree more - cell phones every where - such a a powerful song and people now would spend so much time trying to record it, they wouldn't get lost in it.................. My .02 cents :)
I have watched this video so many times. I love when the crowd sings and roars. When she says wow you can just imagine how powerful a moment that is for her. You can feel the magic from here.

I've had the privilege of seeing them perform this song live in New Zealand. It was pitch black except her and the piano, and when the band came in and the stage lit up, you could feel it under your feet and you could feel it in your soul. Gives me goosebumps every time I think about it
Mohammad is right. I lost my dad to suicide when I was just at the ripe age of 11 years old. I’m 19 now. Being older doesn’t make you exclusive to loss and pain.
Holy shit 3:06 the voice when she is singing the 'alone' really is giving goosepumps to me... and then band comes on, great moment.. Anyone else feeling this song in 2020?
All we see nowadays are phones! Can't people just enjoy things instead of taking pitcures or videos the whole time? Lol! If you want, take a couple then enjoy the rest of the experience!
Amy, Hayley (Paramore) & Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) are probably the best vocalist I've seen live as far as how close they sound to the records. Natural talent doesn't need all the bullshit over it
The most powerful and comfortable voice in female singers! Amy I hope there is never an end to hearing you sing, hopefully I can experience live and in person! Beautiful vocalist, and a kind heart. God bless you Amy! Oh, and the band evanescence is good as well lol.
Hah, I'm not sure if you're trying to do one on me, or you're just that, out of reach, stupid! When Vevo uploaded the video, they've multisampled and altered with the audio for it to sound more clean and cutthrough.
Phones weren't as prevalent as they are now, and who the fuck would twerk to this song unironically? 😂 "I'm so tired of being here...." **Twerk off ensues on stage**
the choke-hold that this band had over the world in the early 2000s was insane. Why was I 12 years old singing the entire Fallen album WITH PASSION word for word?????
Women talk like this all the time, just not where people can hear them. Do you know how many times my gay boss, and the girls at the restaurant would stand around and giggle about certain guys packages? Don't pretend like they don't.
I wish music was always like this. This is a beautiful and emotional song, one to make you cry. This song would be looked past by, and not appreciated if it came out this year. But to me and many others, this song would be gold. I wish music was made like this in our generation. Instead we have Work by Rihannah, Wiggle by Jason Derulo, and Panda by Desiinger. Why is our generation so fucked up? I wish someone could answer that question.
Most of us do. Music stars like randy Travis, Josh Turner need to come back everywhere. Not just certain areas. People don't like it. I'm part of this fucked up generation. I'm 16 and this music is awesome. Love it!! I would stand with all of you that is not part of this generation and changing the music. 😀.
I’m seeing Evanescence live for the first time next month and I was big fan when I was in middle school. And I thought I’d never see them live. And this song hits me hard now since I lost my mother 3 years ago.. I’m not only going to cry in sorrow of her during this song live but also in happiness that I’ve got to see them live. I can’t wait..
I wish i was born sooner to get the chance to be there. Concerts from 2012 backwards are all pure entertainment. Phones were down and all of the crowd were really into the show. Watching this video on youtube have brought me goosebump all over again. Imagine being a part of the crowd for real. Insane!

I've had the privilege of seeing them perform this song live in New Zealand. It was pitch black except her and the piano, and when the band came in and the stage lit up, you could feel it under your feet and you could feel it in your soul. Gives me goosebumps every time I think about it
We are in two thousand and twenty one, and that song does not age. It's incredible! Long live Evanescence!
The fact that you wrote the year in letters gets me even more
Music like this can't age!
It's immortal and timeless!

2022 and still here listening..
This song will be forever!
First time listening to Amy Lee , and being an empath I'm in tears
Foda aqui de manaus curtindo
Same!
I recommend listening to "Good Enough", it's a different kind of ballad but her chord progressions are beautiful
Always when I hear crying since childhood
I lost Three family members this year several months apart so this song alone gets me through my loneliness I feel now 😥☹️
Everything's going to be all right. The pain will remain, but over time it will be weaker
I'm am really sorry for your loss! Everything will be better with time, if you ever need a stranger to talk to, I'm here.
God bless you
figh back, get back on track.. look forward for the future bro
@@LuluCaramelMusic can i talk to u?
Without a doubt, one of the best female voices in music.
She’s an artist who sounds JUST as good live, if not better, as on record- most cannot say the same
Amy with Sharon (within temptation)... :D .
I am pretty sure Amy's voice is the most emotional voice in this world
Naah.😔
Wargo89 I love her voice want to see her in concert but need money😂 plus only 16
Gerard Way, Oli Sykes, Ronnie Radke
Yep
@@TheMusicMOA Oli Sykes? Nah, not even close in my opinion.
When she grabs the mic and the guitars light up, goosebumps, class

10years since you passed away little brother, still think of you everyday. Here's your favourite song, I will see you again RIP 🙏🤛🤜💔
So many young people in the crowd that had no idea how these lyrics would effect them once they got older. Once they experienced loss.
some of them have already experienced loss. Loss and tragedy are sadly not tied with age.
Wonder what the writer was going through. He wrote a truly haunting song
Mohammad is right. I lost my dad to suicide when I was just at the ripe age of 11 years old. I’m 19 now. Being older doesn’t make you exclusive to loss and pain.
@@queen_dawg I wish you the best in your life. Much strength, precious.
Being young does not shield you from loss. Everyone can relate to the feeling of loss and sadness in some form.
One of the most underrated voices in music period
True
solar2k6 she's probably rated about right
she's many things... but not underrated... anyone who knows music knows Amy Lee.
She's one of best female vocalist on 2000-2010 era
Lol... The hell is music period? Is that menstruation music? In music industry everybody knows Amy Lee... All rock and metal fans knows Amy Lee...
Come on man, wtf, THAT WAS AWESOME.
زمان ذهب ولن يعود...
Holy shit 3:06 the voice when she is singing the 'alone' really is giving goosepumps to me... and then band comes on, great moment..
Anyone else feeling this song in 2020?
🙏🏻💔🇨🇴 Just in covid19 times, this song is my company
She didn't reach tone like her at studio record
agree, such an epic moment
Agree
She sounds like joe rogan
Look at all of those free hands up in the air! You don't see that anymore :'(
Agreed. Haven't seen that much since Journey
At festivals like Splendour in the grass you don't see many mobiles
All we see nowadays are phones! Can't people just enjoy things instead of taking pitcures or videos the whole time? Lol! If you want, take a couple then enjoy the rest of the experience!
and those lighters up, you don't see those anymore too :(
cameras and phones up... nowadays hahah so stupid
When the rest of the band joins in….chills!! So powerful!
Dope
I'm here for the 1:32 moment.
Saw this one live last week, just endless goosebumps.
Almost 20 years later she still has it.
All of me.
God u so lucky😭
SOMEONE WHO CAN ACTUALLY SING LIVE
Amy, Hayley (Paramore) & Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) are probably the best vocalist I've seen live as far as how close they sound to the records. Natural talent doesn't need all the bullshit over it
Someone who can actually sing live? I’m 65. Art Garfunkel. Many many more. First time I’ve heard this and she is wonderful though I must admit.
David Mitchell Art literally sounds like an Angel, even at his hall of fame induction he did. True talent.
Tell me that after anything after 3:06
Jake Lefkowitz David Gilmour and Phil Collins as well. They sound the same if not better live.
Best My Immortal live video ever. No fucking cellphones involved.
My thought excatly! :)
The most powerful and comfortable voice in female singers! Amy I hope there is never an end to hearing you sing, hopefully I can experience live and in person! Beautiful vocalist, and a kind heart. God bless you Amy! Oh, and the band evanescence is good as well lol.
13 years past, and I'm here to listen to this again! Life is amazingly strange!
You know it’s great when the live version is better than the recorded one
大切な人を失う気持ちを誰も味合わなくて済む世界になりますように…
事故や病気で苦しむ姿を見ながらの死別は計り知れない苦痛がある
大切な人を守れるように、そして誰からもそんな人を自分が奪わないように生きていたい
I got to see them live like a week ago and I am amazed by her voice live! I am so glad I got to experience that!
she sounds just like her recorded song even in a live performance. thats how uk shes actually a good singer and doesnt autotune
wth are you saying! she's even better in live versions than in recorded! :D
VEVO edit the shit out of videos like this - making them more clear.
Morten Mighty yeah because VEVO existed back in 2004 right... smh
Hah, I'm not sure if you're trying to do one on me, or you're just that, out of reach, stupid! When Vevo uploaded the video, they've multisampled and altered with the audio for it to sound more clean and cutthrough.
I have got the single, since 2003, with a live version and it plays as good as this !
This is not just a song - it is a life story, words and melodies in which its chapters are💗
I relate so much to this.
I love this song, it is a caress for the ear. And who else enjoying this in 2022? ❤
One of the most Powerful singing voices ever to be heard. Amy Lee is a Legend!
💯💙🎸
Whitout Phones OMFG This is fucking amazing.
i love your profile photo omfg. Bvb army 《3
I totally agree
Omg what is the fuckin' difference , so you think it's better to smoke than to be on ur cellphone . Uhh ...
Betsabe Val woah maybe because they didn’t even have phones at that time O_o

there is no phone selfie..
there is no twerking..
YES..
THIS IS TRUE CONCERT
@@MaddoxMartini ok
Phones weren't as prevalent as they are now, and who the fuck would twerk to this song unironically? 😂 "I'm so tired of being here...." **Twerk off ensues on stage**
Thats true
Wafflina wafflana wtf u talking abt
Ok boomer. Even though phones aren't exactly relevant at concerts and no one twerks unironically at concerts.
This came out when I lost my mom. Even now some 18 years later I can still catch me off guard to make me cry❤
I totally agree 😢 i lost my grandmother 2 yrs ago and this song makes think of her everytime. And I cry everytime 💔 ❤

That song is so emotionally moving. We've all been there. Some of us live there
Amy and her voice are an absolute gift to the world. Incredible talent.
Her reaction in 01:32 to the crowd made me fall in love. She is very down to earth and super cute.
She's like "Holy shit they love it"

Women talk like this all the time, just not where people can hear them. Do you know how many times my gay boss, and the girls at the restaurant would stand around and giggle about certain guys packages? Don't pretend like they don't.

The depth and pain in this song is so perfectly complemented by the vocals and the guitar/drums. Incredible. Goosebumps everytime I hear this❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
man that crowd has such a treasure of a memory, there is simply no such concerts like this
I wish music was always like this.
That's the kind of music being consumed these days. Lyrics and song structure are sacrificed for "Bass Drops". But there is yet hope.
I agree, but then this wouldn't be the special incredible work of art that it is
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Sometimes we need the rain to appreciate the sun
One of the best women rock voices hands down!
Along with grace slick
one of the best voices.
The best.
One of the best voices period.
Dollores?
Insane!
This makes me cry like a baby. God bless her ability to transmute pain, grief and trauma into her signing and music for us to resonate with.
she's so talented. this song always makes me cry too. it's heavenly. Hope you're doing okay. stay safe!❤️
I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone
These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase
When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me
You used to captivate me by your resonating light
Now, I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me
These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase
When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me
I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me, I've been alone all along
When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
You still have all of me, me, me

I would love it I love her music
Back in about 2008, I had the privilege of seeing Finger Eleven and Chevelle open for Evanescence, and it is still my favorite concert. Amy Lee definitely does not lip sync, and her energy on the stage is amazing. Would love to see Amy, Pretty Reckless, and Halestorm, that would be my dream concert. 🥰
Más allá del tiempo y el espacio...
A piel curtida y a lágrima viva...
Latente como púlsar en mi ser...
Aún me hace sonreír y llorar.
Es una Supernova que me atraviesa...
De mi médula a mi sombra.
Todo lo anterior es lo que me provoca la canción.
¡Qué poesía! ¡Qué voz! ¡Qué música! ¡Qué sentir!

The emotions that Amy Lee's voice can stir are just amazing. A true legend.
my favorite part is when she didn't twerk for all her fame! shes amazing
Amen

11matt1 my favorite part was when you didn't comment that reminding me that things like that occur. the proper procedure in wiping humanity clean is to not dig up the past.
She did it on pure talent.
I'm deep down this rabbit hole of searching for powerful performances that I wish I was in, reading the moving comments, and getting lost in the meaning of life and such. Been here for hours and my back hurts. songs like these are immortal
