I worked in an industrial environment for years. We reused bearings, after they were inspected, all the time. Some cost upwards of $80,000. Nothing wrong with used when the fits and bearings are inspected. Sometimes we even used SKF inspection services. Glad it worked out for you. Seems to be a keeper.
I'm currently in the middle of restoring one of these and I'm trying to figure out what side of the Bearing Cover (122-082) the Retainer Oil Slinger (641-118) goes on. Does it go on the side between the Bearing Cover and the Roller Bearing or does it go on the side between the Bearing Cover and the Face plate nut? I just cannot find anything conclusive. Any help would be appreciated.
bon lives 4 days ago I'm glad to see you back as well mate!, I left a message on your Adler 187 video regarding an Adler 89 that I have. Can you have a look please, Cheers
Most of the other videos are private since there were within forum specific discussion group. I plan on doing an overview video of this machine, what to look for when purchasing, parts that will likely need to be replaced, how to service the reeves drive, how to convert to a poly-v/VFD setup, etc. I completely tore this machine down to the last screw so I am very familiar with it. If you have any specific questions let me know.
@@thesergeant3524Thanks, I'm specifically interested in fixing the backlash in my cross slide nut/screw. What is the forum specific discussion group were you posting on? Thanks
I am! My interests have expanded from sewing/machine restoration to woodworking, to hand tool working, leather work, welding and now machining. My love of vintage sewing machines spilled over into a love for vintage woodworking/metal working machines and I've restored many. I've been planning on splitting this channel apart. One channel for sewing (I have A LOT of machines and content planned) and one for woodworking/metal working. The two are just too different to keep together and it's kept me from posting. This video was supposed to be "unlisted". Maybe I'll keep it public so people can see this comment. Thanks for the note!
@@thesergeant3524 I do need to thank you for some of the detailed video content. My personal machine is a Brother LS2-B837, acquired specifically due to your video, and I somehow ended up with a Singer 112WSV110. That machine stitched last night for the first time in decades. Thank you very much!!!!
@@thesergeant3524 @sergeant I purchased a singer based on one of your videos and would love to connect with you on restoring it to new. Can you contact me?
@@thesergeant3524 I inherited a Singer 101 but the wiring is missing. There was a fire so my relative could only save the machine but not the knee lever and the plug. I have been looking for info if it is possible to rewire the motor for a foot pedal but no luck. If you offer servicing, how I can contact you, please. Thanks for your answer.
