    Mine arrived today. I've only test one so far. I bought the under the boardwalk set and test the green. I was amazed at how vibrant it transformed from it's original form. They all appear to be very dull in hue but apparently they will be be "magical." I intend to use them in my watercolor art and my first concern was how to apply a faint effect. Using the dry toothbrush is genius for this. I did an an initial sprinkle and spray using my fingertip and would recommend a very light spray at first. I spritzed twice and got a breathtaking dance of water and color but if your looking for a light dusting (as I am) I would step back, and spray once. Also, it's looks like I'm extremely late to the party. Eight years to be exact.

    I noticed you said you hesitate to review them because they are hard to find. These can be found easily found buying directly from their website and click on the tab that says pigment powders. You will will see all they offer. I have bought from them for years.

    I have never had a problem ordering Lindys from their website, they ship pretty fast. They are fabulous to use in many different mediums.. And like Limor said they aren't classified as a watercolor. She knows she's designed many of their sets..

    Thanks for the dry toothbrush idea. I have to try that.

    I bought my magicals from the Lindy's Stamp Gang web site. I love them. I have only used them as a watercolor paint with embossed stamping, so far. I love the shine that you get with them and how easy they are to use. I had not thought of using them like the Brusho etc products. I am going to have to give this a try. Thank you.

    I totally understand what you meant by non readily available and I think that is a consideration considering with a new product I don't usually like to buy a lot of something until I buy one to test and that's harder to do when you have to order online and pay shipping etc. I appreciate the review and some of your tips! I wouldn't have known about this product had it not been for your channel.

    You can readily find all of their products on their website. I got the Magicals Shaker set (10ea) on discount for $28.50 (org. $45) and shipping was less that $4. Can't beat that! Oh, and they are dyes not watercolors, but you can use them in place of watercolors if you want to.

    Magicals are not watercolors, they are dyes and cannot be re-hydrated once dry like watercolors. You can get watercolor effects but they cannot be classified as a true watercolor. Because they are dyes you can mix them with any art medium of your choice.

    When I say I'm hesitate to review them because they're not wildly available, I mean that you can't go to a store and buy them. Many people are hesitant to purchase online, or have issues with buying things online because of credit cards. I usually try and review items that you can purchase and brick-and-mortar stores in your location. Distribution overseas is also a consideration.

    They're not really water colors are they? I use them along with tea to dye and grunge up my papers for my junk journals. They are amaaazing! D

    Thank you for your demo. Are these anyway similar to Perfect Pearls? There a re so many things out there. It gets confusing and I don't want to buy a product that is in the same category as something I already own. I do appreciate your honest evaluations of the products you demonstrate.

      I, too, am waiting for that answer. I would think you could get the same effect by sprinkling Pearl Ex powder onto the surface. I think the shimmer in the demo must come from mica powder. Plus, if you have a set or two of the mica powders, your mixtures are unlimited!

      Thank you for your comment paulage1art. I am trying to refrain from buying so many products. I want to start making use of some of the products I already own. Pretty soon I am going to have to mortgage the house just to keep up lol.

    • @paulage1art
      @paulage1art Před 8 lety

      +Sherron Robinson I know! I also have Splash of Color Primary Elements! Same thing. Also, Perfect Pearls have a binder in them. You can also spritz the color with Perfect Pearls shimmer Sprays or Tattered Angels Glimmer Sprays. Check out Lindsay Weirich's CZcams channel, the Frugal Crafter - she had tons and tons of frugal DIYs for making your own stuff!!!!

      +paulage1art Thanks for the tip regarding the Frugal Crafter. I do learn a lot from her. Maybe I should ask her about this. Whew maybe I will be able to keep the house after all lol. Have a wonderful creative week.

    • @paulage1art
      @paulage1art Před 8 lety +1

      +Sherron Robinson - Just noticed I didn't see your original question, the powders are like Brusho and Color Burst and Primary Elements, and the shimmery ones are like adding Perfect Pearls or Pearl Ex powders. So, if you have any of those things, you can make the Lindys Magiical powder. That being said, this is probably one of the few things I don't "gotta have!"

  • @LyndaThomasflymefree54

    Oops Jenny!! Luminarte by ColourArte has Primary Elements that are GORGEOUS. They refract light. I'd love to see you show them here. Leslie Onstadt owns ColourArte out of California. I'm not saying I'm against adding these to my stash for the flat fabios and permanence qualities. Thus is why I own the full set of Inktense. At times I find myself irritated that my watercolor pieces are not finished when I am😩. I'm saying, Every layer might require a fixative? That's annoying. I'm not that patient. Oh of course we can purchase that heavily pigmented performance for a price. Not one I can bear. 😉. At any rate, even if you choose not to test her products in a shared video, try them. I think you'll love them as I do and I wanted to correct the record. XX'S, LYNDA in Utah

    • @crafttestdummies

      +Lynda Thomas Linda- I DID review the ColorArte Primary elements- take a look at the "cards" that pop up in the upper right hand corner (click the "i") and you will see them! And there is a big difference between Magicals- that are powdered dyes- and Primary Elements, which are PIGMENTS- there is no binder in them, which is why they don't stay put. Take a look at those videos and see if it clears up for you!

    • @LyndaThomasflymefree54
      @LyndaThomasflymefree54 Před 8 lety

      Ya know, you are right. The little "sets" of ColourArte Primary Pigments come with a powdered binder I wish I could get my hands on a larger quantity of that. Sorry, I was unaware you'd done a vid on them. I apologize for speaking out of turn. Thx.
