    Thanks for sharing all those techniques Keren! I'm going to have to get some to play with. Any recommendations on a good first set? How are they different than pearl ex? Thanks!!

    • @KerenTamir
      @KerenTamir  Před 4 lety +1

      They are amazing!! what colors do you gravitate toward? you can buy some loose ones just to try. The pearl ex are just mica like the Finnabair mica powders they are shimmery but light as they are purely mica. The magicals pigmented powders with mica in them so they are very potent in colors and the mica makes them shimmery. they also have the flat ones without mica.

    • @IngridBlackburn
      @IngridBlackburn Před 4 lety

      Have you tried the tonic ones? Also crazy shimmery and potent. I gravitate to blue/green, but would want to mix too....lol

    • @KerenTamir
      @KerenTamir  Před 4 lety +1

      So I never knew about those had to look them up but they might be similar I don't know. I've tried the color bursts from Ken Oliver and the Brusho Crystals. However those two are just powdered pigments they have no Mica so no shimmer. I see the Tonic ones have shimmer so probably similar. Its funny how since I'm not a card maker I don't notice all the products some companies come out with. In terms of buying you could get the single ones: delphinium turquoise, edelwise moss green or french lilac violet. If you want a set then maybe autumn leaves or prairie flowers. I also love Industrial chic and Haunted Halloween. But if you just want to test them then buy those single ones as they are your favorite colors.

    • @IngridBlackburn
      @IngridBlackburn Před 4 lety

      @@KerenTamir ya, I know what you mean about products in other niches. I have colorburst, brusho, pearl ex, etc... Yes, the nuvo powders are like colorbursts with mica. Insane mica. I have a few videos last fall on them. Nuvo has the most insane shimmer sprays - most mica I've ever seen in spray form too. Definitely check those out. I'll have to get a few and play. Thanks for the extra info chickie!! 😁😁🎨

    Hi Keren. I’m slightly confused. You mention these lovely powders are pigments, but they look _dye-based_ to me. Can you clarify, please? Someone far cleverer than me once explained that dye is like sugar in water - it is subsumed altogether, whereas _pigment_ is like mud in water, there is always sediment at the bottom. I ask as it makes a difference for the project I have in mind. Many thanks.

    • @KerenTamir
      @KerenTamir  Před 2 lety

      Below I copied the infor taken directly from their website which I think I read off directly in my video LOL because I wanted to make sure i get it right... it gets very confusing: "Our Magicals are just that, MAGICAL!!! These powdered dye based pigments are unlike any "pigment powder" that you've ever seen, as ours are dye based and "stain" rather than float within mediums. These powders are incredibly potent, so it just takes a tiny amount to colorize any number of things." Here is the link for you to see: bit.ly/3IJhtXX

    • @221b-Maker-Street
      @221b-Maker-Street Před 2 lety +1

      @@KerenTamir thanks Keren! I have dropped them a note to clarify. They sound like dyes to me, from what you say. I’ve not heard of something being both a dye _and_ a pigment before - but maybe that’s a new thing!

    • @KerenTamir
      @KerenTamir  Před 2 lety

      Well actually distress oxide inks are both dye and pigment together. Both in the inks and sprays. They are

    • @KerenTamir
