How to Deal With Bad Reviews

  • Nobody likes getting a bad review. We’d all prefer it if everyone agreed that our books were works of art, but that’s never going to happen. As a writer you are going to get bad reviews - if you haven’t got a number of them littering your Amazon pages already - but knowing that doesn’t make getting them any easier though. We’ve put together a few tips on how to deal with them:
    - Using criticism to improve
    - Discern which reviews are worth taking on board
    - Improving your pool of proofreaders and beta readers
    - Separate yourself from your product
    - Ignore them
    - Be grateful for them

    When it's from a friend, it's crushing. Some of what the person said was correct, so I fixed the issues, but it was crushing that the person would've done that.
