In the second act of "Donnerstag aus Licht", Michael undertakes a journey around the world in what is essentially a trumpet concerto with orchestra, performed in a huge rotating globe set against a starry firmament. There are seven "stations" along the way, at each of which the music takes on colour from the locale: Germany, New York, Japan, Bali, India, Central Africa, and Jerusalem. Michael's formula gradually evolves from a simple beginning form to increasingly florid extravagance, finally shattering into incoherent fragments in stations 5 and 6. When he reaches Central Africa, Michael hears a distant basset horn, and orders the globe to stop turning. Michael commands the earth to rotate in reverse as the seventh station, Jerusalem, is reached, and he begins a new process of rehabilitation in a therapeutic conversation with a double-bass player. Mondeva appears, and they perform a duet in which their melodic formulas merge and intertwine until each plays the other's formula. Two clownish clarinet players, costumed as a pair of swallows, mock and-together with the orchestral low brass, an emblem of Lucifer-"crucify" him, after which the act ends with a musical "ascension" in which the sounds of the trumpet and basset horn circle around until they are united in a trill.

Its strange, i am an admirer of Bach, Beethoven, Händel etc... but for me Stockhausen is merely noise.... sounds like bad dramatic film music to me... and i treid several pieces i have been recommended... is it just ignorance? Or is this new classic music beyound beauty?

To appreciate this style of music, you have to listen to it in a different way. Where as the music of the composers you mentioned has a distinctive way it deals with pitch, duration, textural etc elements, this style of music has a totally different set of protocols governing their them. Of course this can seem very alienating if you're trying to find reference points from the baroque, 1st Viennese school etc.
This is understandable but if you want to pursue it, maybe start with a piece of his called Trans. It's orchestral and is probably the most accessible piece he ever wrote. In order to acclimatise to this music, I suggest listening to one piece a couple of times a day for about a week or so. To get into it you have to train your brain not to look for things in the music that it is use to finding, such as traditional melodic, harmonic and rhythmic devices.

I am confused by Stockhausen. I don't find him a difficult composer, more interesting, dramatic, expressive, very very original, intellectual, deeply conceptualist. But not great melodically.
