    I agree with you for the most part but I have a few minor disagreements.
    - The Meilong 4 and 5 have different internal mechs. The 5x5 has bigger internal anchors and the corners split into 4 (1 stalk and 3 piece head) while the 4x4 has a 3 piece corner design (old style)
    - I found the 5x5 quite nice out of the box while the 4x4 was slower, less stable, had a worse feel and worse corner cutting. After lubing however, the 5x5 did not improve at all and I could not get close my normal averages, while the 4x4 could corner cut almost 45 degrees forward and 1/2 a piece reverse, the feel became much smoother, and the speed and stability improved as well. I can sub 50 with it without magnets, which speaks a lot since my normal average with a magnetic cube is 47.

    • @SpeedCubeReview
      @SpeedCubeReview  Před 4 lety

      Cubes get show mainly because they get dirty. Aging lube May slow it down and loosening it will not fix the speed in the long run. You may need to take it artistry and clean out with a paper towel. If you add lube, add something light like Lunar from SpeedCubeShop.

      5x5 is a lot easier cos you don't really get parity problems and it has fixed centres. For 4x4 you pretty much have to memorise dozens of algorithms to fix parity, or just look them up every single time you try and solve it. Plus the 4x4s (and 6x6 and 8x8 etc, all the even numbered cubes) having no fixed centres really throws you off at first. You have to specifically remember which colour goes on which side. So yellow opposite white is obvious, but then where do you put blue? Which colour goes next after blue? Red or orange? You can remember the acronym B.O.G.R. at least. Stands for blue, orange, green, red, which is the proper order. It you mess up the order, the cube can't be solved

    • @watchf
