A recap isn't hard but often you'll have to replace many, if not all caps. That can be expensive when there's many huge filter caps for the power supply. This particular amp was sent to recycling. It was pretty much beyond repair. There had literally been a fire inside. Burnt cables, components and parts of the PCB was ruined.
Very easy fix and a chance to put a higher spec cap in its place
