Greyjoy's Anatomy
I am very disappointed in myself that I didn't think of it!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahaha......🤣
brilliant comment
I never looked at Euron and the Victorian that way, but it sounds like such a GRRM thing to do that most people won't see coming. Euron vs. Victorian would be much more interesting than the Cleganebowl, as would be the outcome of it.
The Claganebowl I always thought it was just a TV Show Theory, is it that popular in the book fandom? It doesn't have much base in the novels, and right now there is no stake either Gregor doesn't even have a head most likely so...
the Greyjoys can be at the same time the most interesting and the most repugnant house in the ASOIAF.
ps¹: "Great Empire of the Dawn" is something that i still can't wrap my head around.
ps²: yes, the greek is back.
All Ironborn, but OMG I loooove their storyline. Aeron, Asha, Theon, and Vic have BOMB chapters!
I am waiting for Victorion to realize that Euron has slain many kin, and the gods do not seem to punish him.
That's cause Euron has his own gods powering him up. Euron is hidding his true power level.
You said that Euron's not very Bloodstone Emperor because he's already been crowned King, but the Bloodstone Emperor also took the throne successfully. And, importantly, Euron is in all likelihood the one who ordered the death of Balon (even if we discount the show's depiction of events). So, he has committed kinslaying to take a throne that he believes should be his and has brought dark magic to his kingdom. Very Bloodstone.
But what I'd never thought about before was that Victarion is ALSO very Bloodstone, as you brought up. He's a younger sibling who's willing to kill his older sibling for a perceived slight and has converted to a strange religion.
Greyjoy-bowl is gonna be a battle of two Bloodstones.
He was chosen as a King in Kingsmoot, it is not exactly the same even though he was responsible in one way or another for Balon's death. It is pretty much another Robert characteristic more than a Bloodstone one. Like Robert, he killed the person who lawfully was the King/next King, but in both instances, people chose them and supported them.
He has some characteristics of Bloodstone (as I said in my HPL video) it depends on the storyline we talk about, and because all characters have more than one archetype, but still have a dominant one and Euron's isn't Bloodstone's, especially here.
@@CompanyOfTheCat That's definitely true. Victarion is more of the Bloodstone figure than Euron is, surprisingly. I would never have come to that conclusion myself, you're a genius.
WHAT IS HYPE MAY NEVER DIE
On a serious note, love your vids! 👍
damn, you got a dope intro clip now too!
I want the composite tree back!
@@eric2500 the tree was sick as fuck 😎
@@randominternetguyoffical It was awesome. I miss it.
The tree logo had ALL the symbolism - the black and white tree and sun and moon and I think stars- redolent of Cat's theory that the Shade trees are the parallel of each other, the red elements in the illustration comprising Black white and red, the colors of PROPHETIC or magical sending / Otherworld Vison in the Celtic'world, opposites balancing, just plain beauty, everything.
I like the opening! 😃 I'm always happpy to see your videos in my feed.
χαῖρε! Another awesome vidya. I agree that Vic and Euron will have a big show down and that the name "Victaron" is rather obvious. I suppose GRRM could "subvert" it in some way, but I like the idea of a good ol' sibling rivalry where poor, dumb, Vikky finally gets to SMASH Euron as if he were the LIKE & SUBSCRIBE buttons (
He will die, but I want him to use the new updated arm first!
Karl! I see what you did there!
@@eric2500 It's my autonomic Mod Response. I have to post SMASH LIKE & SUBSCRIBE every 20 mins, or I develop a twitch :) Cheers!
VICTARION!!! Strong as a bull and just as smart! He will crush the crow’s eye with axe and flaming fist! What is dead can never die!!!!
Awesome stuff. Thanks for connecting the dots from old lore.
Subscribed. Looking forward to Euron video!
I missed your Ironborn videos!
Brilliant as always!
man i keep on hoping Euron is not full of crap and really does summon a Krakken, and i hope it turns on him right away and eats him lol
Your channel is awesome!
Damn this makes so much sense from a writing perspective too 😮 I mean if Euron really plans on becoming a god, but getting killed while succeding and the long night starting this way would tie up so many loose ends while also being further useful for the main plot and George not having to write magic and godhood ascension to literally 🤓 You might be up there sonething
i enjoyed every second of this and your lovely accent
Victarion reminds me of Khal Drogo in the extreme.
Great vid
Hope Victarion thrusts his smoking hand in Eurons chest and pulls out his beating heart.
That is so metal
Great analysis! I do still think Euron as a Bloodstone character. But then again I think Robert is also somewhat bloodstoney in a way- an unsuccessful establishment of a new but derivative dynasty.
Wonderful as allways Cat, pleace i need that Euron video.. i need it.
It's canon that Euron listens to Drake while Victarion listens to juiceWRLD
I almost spat out my coffee
I find it interesting that Victarion has victory in his name as has Siegfried from the germanic version of the near-invinceble tragic (anti)hero
It is a great name I believe, isn't it? Victarion is kind of an anti-hero. He is not a good guy, but in the grand skim of things I am rooting for him.
35:14 I think it's more likely that Euron has the Hammer of the Waters, since Aeron's vision has him summoning Krakens, Dragons and Sphinxes; the Krakens would respond to tsunamis to eat the dead and the earthquakes would trigger volcanoes and wreck the citadel (ie the dragons and sphinxes). Plus I think it would be a MASSIVE liability to have the Horn of Winter be able to lower the wall from anywhere in the world, as opposed to just close to the wall.
Να ζήσουν τα παιδια. 😂. Δε νομζιω ο βικταριον να βγαλει την μαχη. Αν ομως την βγαλει θα χει πολυ ενδιαφερον να δουμε η ντανυ λως θα τον χειριστεί. Keep up the good work
cool video
Delighted you are back, but the white and black tree with sun and the moon simply must be restored.
Maybe I can wip an outro or something with the tree, but until them we can still have our lovely weiroak in the banner.
Have you seen Michael Talks About Stuff 's videos on how the wall is a line of frozen weirwoods, and how Melisandre drank wildfire?
They're really good, both the idea and support for it. Kinda blew my mind. Wonder if you have any thoughts about that? Would be interesting to hear your take, you also see things that seem like not many others have.
I have seen the Wall one, not the Mel one. It has so many interesting ideas, but I cannot say I agree 100%.
I think that the trees do give power to the Wall (I mean the black gate exists), but it isn't frozen weirwoods. I think that it is indeed solid ice over the existing castles. And that is because the vow and the part that you need to say to the Black Gate reads "I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, *the horn that wakes the sleepers* . I am *the shield that guards the realms of men* ." I have a video about the horns, I think the horn of winter was so you can bring the icy part up or down. And that would explain why some say "Oh it wakes giants" and others "Oh, it brings the wall down", if it is for raising the giant wall or bringing it down both stories kinda make sense.
Tank you! 😊❤🎉
Excellent video, great theory! In a video by David Lightbringer and Grey Waste Tim, they also talk about there being a lot of parallels between Euron and the moon and between Victarion and the red comet. (Also Euron with the ice moon of Europa and Vic with the star Aldebaran, the red eye of the Taurus constellation). This paired with the theory that the long night began when Lightbringer was plunged in Nyssa Nyssa's heart and her scream shattered the moon (Lightbringer=red comet) with meteoric showers from the broken moon and that the second long night will be caused by the red comet shattering the second, now only moon of planetos fits really well. However I hope the theories that speculate that Euron will be possessed by another entity and become a drooling vegetable are not confirmed. He's being set up as such a great villain, it would be really disappointing if all this setup ended in a fart.
Euron will definitely cause havoc, but summoning Cthulhu or being possessed by Nyarlathotep, as many theories suggest will not happen imo.
Glad you liked it φίλτατε!
Euron Is living rent free in victarion's head
for real
Kinslaying.Violations of guest right....markers of a society coming unglued.
Very very interesting take, i really like it!
@CompanyOfTheCat on another note, there is this theory about Euron, that he is/was somehow connected to Bloodraven, due to the whole " I had a dream that I was flying " thing. Your thoughts?
@timangelis8999 I think he might have. Considering the Ironborn have the drowning of the followers, if while unconscious and before the CPR (kinda like Bran, who was in a comma) came into contact with Blooraven who from what I understand was searching for a greenseer (since Rickon seems like he had also dreams about the crypts, so he wasn't visiting Bran only), but didn't recruit him for x,y,z reasons, easily I can see him becoming obsessed with visions and magic since he was aware of it.
It was hinted many times throughout Damphair's chapters that Euron had raped him, those hinges and their screaming in the night. The Forsaken chapter all but confirmed it. I always wondered though, it always seemed to me that Euron does not miss an eye, rather he hides it under the patch for some reason.
@@timangelis8999 Yeah the whole chapter is disturbing AF. He does have an eye, a black one which is why they are calling him crow's eye (Theon mentioned it). The undying have indigo eyes bc of the shade and Euron has a red one on his sigil, so I don't know tbh, but I am betting on one of these two colors currently because of magic.
TWO MAN ENTER! ONE MAN LEAVE!!!
On none, who knows?
@@CompanyOfTheCat Or they both die... and both leave...
If Euron dies in naval battle, then who will burn Hightower? I fairly sure that library will be destroyed one way or another.
I think all are gonna happen at the same time. Oldtown is a bunch of Islands and ships are going there just fine. The Hightower, the citadel, and even the rookery, and in general big contraction like these are on isles of their own, the battle is going be on big part a naval one I think. They are gonna pass the long ships through the Honeywine.
Would you ever collaborate with LML? Seems like a good match, bet they would love your takes!
Edit: I don't understand sibling rivalries to be honest, I never will. My brother is my best friend in the world, and I will protect that man no matter what.
I wouldn't oppose having a talk with LML, I really like his content and I have watched his channel since he started uploading pretty much, but I have never talked with him, apart from some Livestream chats when I can catch them live.
Yeah, I do not get them either, I love my sister very very much and as you said is a friend of mine, even if we are not very close in age. On the other side our siblings are not Euron, thank God, so idk maybe then I would get them.
How much kinslaying has Bloodraven done?
yes
Algormancy!
He's gonna become cthulu
If this happens it has to occur very far from where the story is now since it's heavily implied that Euron is the mount Dany will dread.
As I said in the video too, I think the end of Winds is actually a great place for it to take place, considering that Dany, Vic & the dragons are still in Essos and they have to end with the Slaver's Bay campaign, since this is Daenerys's game. Also, the Winter, officially, meaning people finally know that we have serious problems, most likely would take place at the end of Winds with ADOS being about resolving the problem.
Interesting. I always imagined Euron killing Victarion.
I don't know why, but Victarion committing kinslaying, something that he pretty much doesn't want and tries very hard not to do, was always very much a tragic irony for what is about to come
14:06 , omg
Hei, I am a little late, but I am back to work after my vaccination and with School starting here today, we have a lot to do at work and I am constantly tired.😴
But I really like your idea about Victarion and Euron's kin slaying each other. After Loki used Hoder to kill Balder, he was banished from Valhalla and constrained with the bowels of his Sons, a poisonous Snake hangs over his Head and trips her venom on him, only his wife Sigyn was allowed to be imprisoned with him and she holds a dish to collect the tripping Poison and when she needs to empty her Plate the Poison trips on Loki and his pain makes the World crumble. Important to know: Loki is a Fire Giant. The Forsaken Chapters sees a Woman on Euron's Side which is connected with Fire. Someone in the Fandom came up with the idea that this Woman could be Melissandre. Okay, Melissandre is up at the Wall, BUT if Jon is not Dead, but only unconscious, like Bran was after his Fall and Mel already used some minor Sacrifice to heal him like Mirri Maaz Duur did (just this time it was successful), it could be possible that Shireens Death was used at this Point by Stannis somehow and he got nothing from it and casts Melissandre away. The North would rather rally behind a Bastardborn Deserteur from the Night's Watch, who is on the Side of his Siblings and rallies those who are unsure of their Alliance in their Name, than a Kinslayer. So Melissandre is cast aside and travels South and ends up in Eurons Company, who took Residenz in Old Town.
It could raise the Stakes if Melissandre is on Euron's Side and Moquorro is on Victarion's side. Especially when Daenerys is part of that Fight. Also in Ragnarök there are 2 Sides, the Aesir and Vanir on one Side with the Hall of fallen Warriors (which I still don't get, someone who survives all Battles to an old Age, should be more valuable than someone who dies young with a Wound on the Torso at the Front. That just doesn't make much Sense) and Loki with his Monstrous Children (except Hel, if I remember that correctly, because I remember Loki, Fenrir and Jörmungandr on the Field all of them are killed by an opponent who is simultaneously killed by them, but Hel isn't mentioned) with all the People who went to Hel's Realm, those who died of old Age and Sickness (which already makes a greater Army for heaven's Sake!) the Fire Giants, those from Loki's Kin a.k.a. Family on the other Side. Humanity doesn't take a very prominent place in this Fight? They hide and survive that Battle that way. Something similar happens with Rohan, they send their Women and Children not to Helms Klamm, they are sent into Hiding so that their Culture will survive.
What are your thoughts on that, who do you think will hide in this Story?
Mel would almost certainly look at Euron as a servant of the Great Other. The existential cosmic Enemy.
@@eric2500 ... Can't say I agree with you. Melissandre worships R'hllor and she first thought his chosen Hero was Stannis, for some reason, she saw Jon in her Flames and started to believe maybe he is the chosen Warrior or at least destined to fight at Stannis's Side.
Furthermore, we are talking about the fact that Melissandre sacrifices a Child to her Flames and gets nothing substantial in magical Power back from it. I think that could end in a very substantial crisis of Faith for her. So I am unsure, but Cersei won't be in Old Town, that's in the Reach, where the Tyrells rule, who are not Cersei's best friends. Also in the Arianne Chapter, Aegon is very close to King's Landing, so he is most likely there before Euron comes to that Town. Which means Aegon and the Golden Company will deal with Cersei. So the Percentage that Cersei for any Reason meets with Euron for any Reason is very low.
Maybe this is a touchy subject, but would Victarion killing his son's bastard in his wife be regarded by the Gods (GRRM) as Kinslaying?
People call kinslayer even Robert who killed Rhaegar, so I really do not know. Technically yes I guess, but I think the stigma is mostly for first-degree relationships? Otherwise, everyone is a kingslayer, most highborns are cousins😂
5:11 the official trigger for the war was the deaths of Lucerys AND Jaehaerys, F&B makes that clear; the fighting and dying didn't start until both princes were dead, although only Aemond is labeled a kinslayer. If Stannis is a kinslayer for assisting in the murder of Renly, then Daemon sicking some psychos on his nephew absolutely makes him a kinslayer as well.
EDIT: "The Dance of the Dragons entered a new stage after the death of Lucerys Velaryon in the stormlands and the murder of Prince
Jaehaerys before his mother's eyes in the Red Keep. For both the blacks and greens, blood called to blood for vengeance. And all across the realm, lords called their banners, and armies gathered and began to march."
I think that is bc Aemond killed him directly, that is why they called him a kinslayer. But Daemon is also a kinslayer if not for Jaeherys, for Aemond. I mention it later in the video, but since he wasn't around after Aemond's death, people just didn't call him that, they didn't call Aegon one either and he killed his sister so...
I think it is because these happened very close to their own deaths and just didn't stick as a nickname.
@@CompanyOfTheCat Only issue with that is Viserys I refuses to execute Daemon fror sleeping with Rhaenyra, despite Lionel Strong urging him to do so, because Septon Eustace reminds him that 'none are as accursed as the kinslayer.' Stannis and Daemon ordered the executions so-to-speak, but did not physically carry it out. Stannis is still a kinslayer just as Viserys would have been, so Daemon should be tarred with the same brush
@@DreamWalker-113 Exactly, Stannis tells Davos that he dreamed about killing Renly
Why do you think Euron gave Victarion the horn?
That is something I didn't touch along with some other weird moves by Euron, because, it is a very long story I think is has to do with wtf vision he has bc of the shade. I will talk about them in the Euron video tho. But pretty much I think it has do do with his visions.
@@CompanyOfTheCat Hm, that's a cool concept. Maybe he has seen a prophecy about his own death that he mistakes for Victarion killing someone else, unknowingly setting the events in motion.
None of the greyjoys are good but some are grey i like victarions character tho and aerons more
It is true, that's why I very much LOVE the Ironborn storyline. Interesting compelling characters, even though, most of them are not great people, and a great plot obviously. I am gonna say though I like Aeron A LOT, he is one of my favorites.
Nah euron has to see it happen
