I sometimes wear leather or stuff like it in the summer , but when it's warm the sandal will come out instead (they can be leather, suede, synthetic etc) Sandals will help you keep cool better, just don't forget suncream, its easy to forget.
You can get many of these kinds of shoes at thrift stores, and often in great condition. Best part is breaking them in is much easier and less painful. Simply wash and sanitize them, and you're good to go.

I broke my right foot like 6x so I gotta stick with my sneakers but I’m soo picky . I found an amazing pair of miu miu loafers that actually feel amazing . It can be scary to branch out with chronic pain , but just be kind to your feet , if you’re thinking about incorporating a new style of shoe, I just highly recommend trying to go to a store and trying it on even if you don’t buy it there in person just to get a feel for how it really fits your foot, and how comfortable it will be. That alone will make all the difference in wearing it Vs not reaching for it ever
I think the biggest appeal for sneakers to me is the comfort. The loafers or Clarks are nice but if I am doing any sort of walking, they just won’t be practical.
My mother in the 70's was a bit more tombiy and loved wearing desert boots. First time I wore a pair I instantly saw the appeal, so comfy, I have to get myself a pair of loafers eventually.

Boots are where its at, for me at least. There are tons of style. I had a brown leather lace up pair that always got a ton of compliments, especially when I threw some polish on the toe. I eventually settled on square toe cowboy boots but if thats not your thing the possibilities go a lot further
