    This video is God sent for I was checking a series BMW that my friend owns and I did see that video about connecting a battery 18v. drill to some wires in a fuse box in the engine bay area. To much work.....we will be going to the junkyard on Sunday to get the seats out and will be using this method. Pray it works...God bless you

    My dad totalled his 2003 Mercury grand marquis, and usually before the wreck the power seats work all the time but the battery isn’t connected anymore I don’t think. The seats are perfectly fine and i was trying to get them out and put them in MY 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis because his are leather, mine are cloth. The problem I’m facing is, I can unbolt the front two bolts but I can’t get to the back 2 bolts because the seat is too far back, but I can’t move the seats forward because they’re power seats and the power doesn’t work in them anymore because there’s no power going to them. I can’t really get under the hood to look at the fuse box or the batter because the hood is so messed up. The car hasn’t been junked yet it just doesn’t have any power going to it because of how bad the wreck was… really the main reason i want these seats is because that car used to be my Nana’s car and she passed away a few years ago and I just want to have a piece of her car become part of my car for sentimental purposes, you know? But yeah i just gotta figure out a way to get that seat moving and i think you may have helped out. The wiring harnesses should still be intact so if i can get a jump box hooked up to those wires I might be able to pull this off and get those seats. Hopefully i can get this method to work.

      I just thought about this, the seat mechanism is on the door in this car, not actually on the seat… so i have no clue if it’ll even work like that. If you know please let me know.

    If I don’t have a harness like you could I connect the jumper pack to the positive an negative connectors where the battery connects ? I think that five power to everything an then I would be able to remove seats

      Quit being a cheap ass, go to the junk yard and buy one. You wanna be a big shot in a bmw but can’t go buy a $2 connector from junk yard. What a joke

    How did you get the driver side ? If it has a computer under the seat how you bypass that?

  • @miller330i
    @miller330i Před rokem

    Does it matter what red wire you connect to? Have you been able to do this if the side panel is missing or non functional?

    • @alfreddmoore
      @alfreddmoore  Před rokem

      It may be more difficult if there is no side Panel with the seat functions switches. Usually the power wires are the thickest ones because they carry more current to power the motors that move the seat forward and back

    To much work. Just get 2 wires and hook them tonthe motor on your seat and the battery from yiyr cordless drill. Yiyr making way more out of this tgan what it needs to be. Simplify the process bro.
