The event cameras really put in perspective how hard these people are going because the bicycle camera makes things seem deceivingly effortless.
The commentary on the last couple of minutes show down is AMAZING!
Thank you! funny thing is, that was recorded before the cyclestream footage was added. Chris nailed the "30 second recap" from over a year ago!
@@NorCalCycling lol... good thing. I didn't tell it like a "fish story"! I was pretty close!
Was just going to say the same. Cycling commentary from the U.S. has notoriously been abysmal. I'm thinking of grand tours where the commetators were do doubt awesome people who knew the sport, but man oh man, it was hard to listen to. I have never heard a better finishing call of a North American race. The tandom didn't talk over one another and the really excited guy pulled some awesome metaphors out of his sleeve. Top stuff.
@@mggailitis7231 So, US commentary is about on a par with your CZcams commentary?
14:06 - "Flogging himself like a rented mule that's due back at 5:00 tonight" 😂
I'm all for this "television style" recording of these races! awesome stuff!!
i wish bike races had onboard like F1 races. the crowd barely knows what's going on from the sidelines.
Agree with u man, this is so intense
"A human wattage cottage" 14:42 lmfao, gonna have to remember that one.
that looked unimaginably difficult
😝 all in a days work. Looked much easier for Quinn and the rest of the break riders... I was struggling!
Incredible; one of your best vids yet!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video.
In the future, when there is footage taken by someone outside the race, can you please put an arrow pointing to "our" rider, so we can identify him?
Thanks.
@1:14 ... good save by #18. Damn.
16:31 is a total trust of wheels, one clutch at the brakes and the road embraces you like a baby
You should join GCN and started GCN USA, you'd do great as a presenter
And yet some says bike racing is boring, what a thrill! Brilliant
The point of view is so fun, that looks super fast.
"he quit to find jems", LOLOLOL. Subscriber for life now
🤣
I just wonder what he'll do once he finds them.
great work on all this. thanks for what you (both) do.
I feel like I'd love to see a video about race etiquette for people who want to get into racing. I feel like you could format that well and make sure a new racer doesn't make a complete ass of themself in the pack
I totally agree lol, regardless of how strong I feel on the bike I would be a massive liability in a race like this. I get claustrophobia just watching some of the positioning in the peloton at these speeds! 👍🏻
If your in a crit race and someone is not cussing at you at some point then your not doing it right
Great question. Unfortunate truth is that it’s often easier to ride category one and two races because they know the etiquette and Know how to follow a line. Entry level riders are all over the road and I found it very stressful.
More of this please!! Amazing stuff all around.
I remember watching it live those last two laps where crazy and from watching Simmons and Garrison race in person i knew they would be in the break since they did that at tosh. But seeing the gopro of this is crazy. An Garrison is racing with axeon hagens and his brother is at quick step in the world tour
100.000 my guy!!! Congratz
Love from the east coast, love the cylcling videos just what I need to get it going the blood I love it. I always watch these before I go out and get my body moving. I always watch one of these, and then put up my heavy playlist like Delta Parole, Three Days Grace, System and then I just go haaaaard!!!! Tactic hasnt let me down yet.
I have to said this is my favorite video the commentary at the end is awesome I have watch this video about 5 times never gets old
1:13 *Whoa! That save by #18 in the turquoise - Youza*
4:10 Then an 'almost-collision'...
Redlands - Five Stages of Anxiety
didn't even noticed until now lol I guess I just talked right through it. Good catch!
I know right? I flinched when I saw those two hahah
What do you think causes that, the double yellow?
Jo Mo Definitely, he was the only rider that was on the yellow for a period of time and he was the only one that nearly slipped out.
@@jomo8207 100% you can see as soon as he leans hard on the yellow paint the rear slides
I really liked the commentary finish 👍
Exciting finish...great camera/commentator footage.
That Crit course is awesome! Beautiful racing.
Its such a great course! shame to miss it this year.
excellent......last two laps were phenomenal
That was some pretty damn good commentating at the end
Great video!
Elbow flick, elbow flick
slow death...
Awesome video, and I loved how the footage shifted towards the end. I'm curious as a local rider, how does Mike's Bikes form its teams?
Love your videos - Just to show how old I am, I saw Team 7-11 (team Slurpee) race at Redlands They embarrassed everyone there- it was the first time I met Bob Roll - I met him years later at Amgen Tour.
Well shoot, I was a spectator there off of Cajon Street! I didn't know about your channel back then, otherwise I would have kept an eye out for the Mike's Bikes jerseys! Excellent commentary by you and Chris... plus, your 17 minutes of video was more entertaining than my curbside view!
HA! We'll be there next year! hopefully you'll still be a fan!
So enjoyable!
Epic win!
That picture quality. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Prominent Shimizu shot to open, nice!
Cool I needed to see that thanks
I like when the announcer called two riders "Buffalos" lol
man, ur videos with race commentary and footage shows why cycling is such an entertaining sport
Got me trying to figure out how to find more cycle stream content.
As always great video!
That. Was. EXCITING!!! Awesome vid. Great job Chris!!!
Awesome video, great race footage!!
Goosebumps on that finish omg.
1:16 lucky dude
Awesome video!
The lactate was building up just watching this.
What software do you use to put your ride data on the screen? Great stuff BTW!
Awesome perspective. I really like all into infographics. How was that done?
I made a video about this topic, check out my channel
Love it!
Remarkable.
This was awesome!
oooo TJ Eisenhart lives pretty close to me cool to see his name mentioned
Where can I watch these events with the commentary? It’s great for my turbo sessions
Colorado hitters in the breakaway granigan Simmons and Bruner
6:57 @chrisriekert: after you... - rider behind: ladies first (such a gentlemen sport) 😂😂
my heart was racing for the last two minutes because i knew simons was getting caught
Apologies if I missed it....so what power did he average to be in the break?
you can look at his power meter
Awesome vid. I miss Gas Station Food Cyclist tho
14:31 Reminds me of the Cars film commentator haha
Thats a cool looking course.
One of the best! So many turns!
haha jeff saying "I think I just hit bingo"
Hernandez is wild
*NorCal Cycling* Thanks for this! Can't wait for More. Oh and Happy dare day! :d
You guys should have mentioned Quin Simmons being the junior world champion.
TJE quit to go just vibe. "positive vibes only tho, peace and love, and
positive vibes, hahaha beautiful"
saw some Mike`s Bikes team in this year Redlands event. I was wondering why are they riding Giant bikes and not specialized anymore?
who the hell parked their gixxer on the DAMN CIRCUIT
He,s flogging it like a rented mule thats due back at 5 oclock...epic stuff
How you add the "performance bicycle" to the gorro video??
The guy that got second... his 3rd to last corner! 16:30
how do you sync the garmin data and go pro video?
I actually took your word for it. The last 2 laps I kept thinking: he's gotta go now surely he's way to far back. With one lap to go i was confident everyone was gonna slow down and Chris would do an all or nothing and win. With one turn to go I still thought everyone was gonna crash causing Chris to win. But no. Sad stuffs. Great ride tho ngl
Oh man... I wish! you know how racing goes... sometimes you feel great and 10min later you feel like you might need to stop. I was totally trying to talk myself in to it.. but the end was just a little over my head. The next day on Sunset (95 miles / 9000ft) I sprinted to 7th right behind Noah (Floyds).
@@ChrisRiekert99 Great result!
wattage cottage. I'll be using that one for a while.
is circuit racing difficult that distance racing?
Yo! Someone's from team Hagens Berman..... Saw that Pinarello f10.
Ohhhh they're all here hahahaya
I am a new cyclist (under a year) FTP of around 270-280. Can you make a video on how to train intervals properly to gain on your FTP? I feel as if I am just flogging myself to no avail. Just trying to get these cat upgrades ;(
Threshold intervals, also focus on tactics and positioning
Did you win? You jersey is violet isn't?
Jersey is Yellow. Kevin Vermark from Axeon held on to it.
This happened just recently?
SoCal Cycling?
Do you guys actually pay attention to your weight on a daily bases @NorCal Cycling
i ride flat to rolling road races and crits and weight is less important, so no. climbers might.
Is this quin simmons the person that is now racing for treksegafredo as an 18year old?
Yeap. World junior champ.
Yes, the same racist one who posts racist things on instagram because Quinn Simmons is racist.
@@jjwa5410 You sound mad
But what if he attacked a bit later.
ofc it will
@7:00 Yo-Yo pace always kills my mental stamina in a group ride.
Do you know the boys at butcherbox?
not personally but we've raced together a bunch of times
Don't let durian rider see this , if you are not racing in Europe you are nothing ,😂
To be fair he's not wrong.
Scared money don't make money... AKA If you don't fully commit you won't get the result (the pot)
Quin Simmins world champ already.
Every vid they post there are always voicecracks LOL
2:00
Those announcers are everything that is wrong with sports broadcasts
First Comment
you got 3rd, still on the podium tho
@@NorCalCycling ....as @Tom Crowe files protest. lol
Australia feel the burn ,not inCali
Simmons is a tool bag for that
