I loved it when they played the 1970s D.O.H Theme Song when they jumped the broken bridge!
Uh? Thats the remake unfortunately.
@@SPlenkYT Still though, love it
Almost shed a tear 😢
Honestly I prefer this rugged look to The General.
It shows shes been loved and alot of repairs have been done to her i dont like the 01 on the new one however
I agree, but have all of its graphics and the flag on it, but in faded and patina style.
I agree
Agree 100 percent
Noway
Sure glad I seen this at the movie theater :), especially since there’s never going to be another one & no one will ever have the chance to experience The Dukes on the big screen again :(
Ryan Tidwell it’s unfortunate that they were planning a new film in 2015 but completely scrapped it & nearly abandoned the franchise completely after that idiot shot up the church.
It's not the Dukes. It's shit
they aren't the Dukes, dumb ass. Both actors have regretted making this pile of piss.
Sal Paradise boy you really crave attention, don’t you? You replied to me, then over a year later replied again but this time, you acted like a complete douchey prick, if you’re going to keep acting this way, I’d suggest you leave the fan base entirely, watch all the seasons of the TV show again, hopefully you’ll learn something & if you do, then come back & apologize, dumb ass.
ShockMe1994
the TV show was alright in what it was, and that was banjo-scored stunt show with a plot feeling like an afterthought
Don’t get me wrong, Rosco and Boss were funny shit, but I’m not gonna act like it’s some pure perfect thing because it. Really isn’t
The moment they turned to a family-friendly format after Georgia, it just sort of plays out like. “Boss does x, boys drive around and get chased, jump a thing or two, save the day in a neat bow”
The original five episodes were more intelligent and, even slightly raunchy things lmao
This movie, although taking a more comedic edge, has that exact spirit in it
And. I honestly think the majority of the “hate” just came from sad old guys hopped up on nostalgia, and resistant to change
This movie is hilarious and I would have loved to see a completely new series come from it
Idc if they take the fucking flag off the roof, either, just call the car “The General”
It’s still an icon with or without it
I love the old show and this movie idk why people hate it
Knoxville and scott had great chemistry honestly I loved the whole cast
Censored I guess. No confederate flag on the General Lee. Sad that liberals are like the new evangelicals trying to ban stuff.
@@pantherinparadise9686 but the General gets the flag later in the movie after she gets repaired
I think the biggest reason why people hate the movie is because it's just not a Dukes of Hazzard movie. Tonally, it's comparable to American Pie and Super Troopers. Not necessarily a problem since a few people from those films worked on this, the problem comes from the fact they were attempting to adapt something that was originally intended to be family friendly and turned it into a typical raunchy 2000s comedy, which yeah, wasn't exactly respecting the source material. There's also the obvious of everyone being recast with actors that only vaguely look like who they're supposed to be. That's mostly because even the original cast members that were still alive thought the screenplay was terrible. There's a lot to hate if you were really into the show, but as a standalone movie, it's a fun watch. The cast have great chemistry even if they're not the original cast, the soundtrack is god tier, the General Lee is still badass, and my personal favorite, being from Mississippi, it captured the southern vibe near flawlessly.
The reason why people hate it because it's not faithful to the original. Not only that, because this the Jackass version of The Dukes of Hazzard, the only member who was really great was Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse
Don’t forget Burt Reynolds
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid in kindergarten and this was my favorite scene in the film
This movie may not be great but this opening is the best thing ever. And all the driving scenes are amazing to watch, this is still one of my favourite movies ever since I was a little kid
I love that they used "one way out" by the Allman Brother Band for this scene. Fitting. Lol
That was for the bar fight.
Me too
I loved how the general lee looked all beat up
“Dadgummit. You just assassinated a tree.”
I said no Bo NO!!!

“OH, SHIIIIIIT!!!”
I love this scene

Am I the only one that likes this version of the General Lee more than the original? It has an old, warn out look to it, like something a group of college students built, and I think that fits the General extremely well.
vontavius01 no, you’re not alone in that lmao
For a car that’s supposedly made by a couple “good old boys”, it was remarkably clean in the show
Some people say it looked “beat up” in some Georgia scenes, but. None of it was intentional lol
The headlight flap being open at the bank shot was most definitely a last minute error
Just give this version the brush bar and it’d be set, really
And. Drop the “lee” part of it too, the look of the car is iconic enough, and the flag isn’t needed, either
“The General” is a perfect name, because it’s rugged and tough like one
Well actually, Cooter and his mechanics built the The General Lee. But Bo and Luke helped with repairs and what not
Still a badass car regardless 😎🤙🏼
@@RayNotCharles The original balladeer line from Daisy’s Song said both cousins “built him from the wheels up” 😔😔😔

@@suddysoap-barproductions4470 ya know what, you’re probably absolutely right. I haven’t paid attention to every detail from the original show😂
For those who watch WatchMojo, and saw the "Top 10 Worst Movies Based On TV Series". I still love this movie, equally, and a little more compared to the TV Series.
Yeah.
Despite the movie itself not being praised by many people, the stunts in this film are basically the only good thing about this film.

I love at 1:17 hearing the general roar

Oh man imma get the chills.
There's only 3 types of people in the world when it comes to The Dukes of Hazzard:
1. People who like the original series but hate the movie.
2. People like me who like both the TV show and the movie.
3. People that hate both the TV show and the movie because of you-know-what that's on top of the car.
I'm on the #2 list. I like the show, but the movie is awesome!
The people in the #3 category are missing out over something stupid.
2:29 instead of them doing Yeehaw i was waiting for Johnny to say Hi I'm Johnny Knoxville welcome to Hazzard
I actually saw that exact Dodge pickup for sale on Facebook. Still has the holes blown through the door and the floor from the shotgun.
Lol how much?
Frick it I’ll take it
I loved the original show, but I thought this movie was pretty good all things considered. The 05 movie didn't have the same meaning of the show, but it was good for the General Lee and music.
I didn’t know that was Johnny Knoxville in the movie
YOU MISSED JIMMY!!!
Aww goddamnit, your gonna replace that
"What the Hell he’s using?"
"You don’t wanna know."
honestly I know people say this is a terrible movie but I watched this when i was younger a kid i grew up watching this movie I think its a awesome movie and yes there are things that needed to be worked on but its still a great movie
Based on the way Bo drives the General Lee, I think he’d have a better chance of winning the WRC or trophy truck championship instead of NASCAR like in the TV show.
I’m still over here wondering what series Billy Prickett was in. Considering he had bf Goodrich as a sponsor it’s definitely not nascar.
For some reason Bo and Luke remind me of me and my Cousin we are kinda like brothers our moms are sisters and our dads are brothers so we grew up really close sharing grandparents on both sides of the family
No wonder me and my little cousin have been through a lot like them

Honestly, I think Wopat and Schneider made a better duo (maybe because I am bias towards the original cast idk). However, this movie was just as good as the show IMO.
Wait a minute.
Was John Schneider himself singing the theme?
Because that sound pretty much like him.

My favorite line to date. Here load up with these whammie shells. They'll blow a hole through an elephant's ass. The best scene though is Luke using the Arrow to blow the safe.
😂
This was NOT the real Dukes Of Hazzard

Ya know another actor who should've been in this movie was John Witherspoon! He could've played the Duke's very funny black country man neighbor who would stand those Duke boys and be after them with either a shotgun or a belt. "Those damn Dukes I'm gonna get them!"🤣
Talking to Daisy Duke: "Why don't you cover up girl?!"🤣
No offense, but this General Lee is probably the only way can be seen now bc, the original look of people say it’s racist bc it has the confederate flag on top of it.
That’s generally looks so fake
its a movie and they did jump the car just with test dummies in it
I wish they brought out a 4K blu ray release of this movie
Wait.
Esta película ES UNA VERGÜENZA!!! Ningún respeto para lo que fue la serie original
This was the WORST POS reboot I ever saw including the cast... GENERAL LEE was murdered here.
qué manera tan más estúpida de estropear una serie clásica...
this is garbage . this isnt dukes of hazzard. they should specify that..
This dukes of hazard movie sucked
shut up u inbred fuck
damn right it did

Anyone who likes the movie more than the series is just too young and too stupid. The movie has very poor acting, poor directing (I love Broken Lizard, too) and it was entertainment that came along at a good time. No one had seen the Dukes Of Hazzard for a long time before this movie was released.
Garbage movie. But the car chases were well done
This movie is a disgrace to the series
Nah it's better
Better than 2007 Duke of Hazzard
@@dustra5000 Shut the fuck up. You've never seen it and no it's not better. Moron.
Sal Paradise I’ve watched both and the movie is objectively better fuckface
@@MrFTBL2000 not even close..... The series or GTFO
I love this whole opening sequence so much
Despite the cruder humor, it’s deeply in the spirit of the original
Like, the ORIGINAL original - the more rugged Georgia episodes
With the boys chasing after girls and getting shot at, it’s just funny to watch
But the sad part is, this whole sequence was an afterthought at the end of production
It replaced an entirely different sequence where Bo just drives the General blindfolded, then jumps the bridge
If the whole movie were in the same vain as this sequence, I think it’d have been received a lot better
The rest of it is still competently made, and I have a soft spot for it - but you barely spend any time in actual Hazzard County like this
The essence of the show is the General Lee and one other car, chasing through dirt roads - not the General vs a million crown Vics
Rosco doesn’t even personally chase the boys down, he rolls five feet then blows his tires out lmfao
