In today's video, LawVS' dream Formula 1 track becomes a reality as an Assetto Corsa mod. Modding Assetto Corsa has become a habit of mine as of late, so why not do a bit more of it :)

UPDATE: For those, who's suggestions didn't get into the video, I'm really sorry, I either:
1. Completely forgot about it even though I had the screenshot ready
2. Put in on the track but forgot to put it in the video
3. Your suggestion was either an unreasonable amount work, or was concerning the track itself (like adding bumps to braking zones) and I just don't want to ruin the driving experience for the sake of the meme.
Overall, I'm just a dum-dum, and hopefully, y'all can come up with equally crazy shoite next time too :D

I would like to see @zoomingpast giving opportunities for dream tracks of smaller channels and also for regular fan tracks coming to life…
I am definitely planning on creating fan tracks at some point, but I can't invest weeks into each track, so I'm trying to think of a solution. Maybe a stream where I make each track very simple and quick? Because if I'm quick I can make a good enough track in maybe an hour-ish? Making it like 3 per stream maybe? Idk I'm still figuring it out, hit me up with the suggestions
@@zoomingpast I guess couple (maybe one/two) day build for track could be solution if you use pre built backgrounds and other background stuff ready to be placed…?

I know it is time consuming, but I don’t have better ideas in my mind in this moment.

Well done, bro! What really caught my eyes were the kerbs. It seems that here are put relatively well. In your last one they were all over the place. Give the pre-apex kerb more love. It's a lot of work but imo, if added correctly, they make a huge difference. Especially from a driving pov. Good job anyway! Nicely done!

This track is absolutely amazing to drive, my best laptime was a 1:38.891, and i definitely recommend driving this (the easter egg at the corkscrew was also... interesting)
now on the last corner i could see you were a bit afraid of running into the shame road i would as well so i guess that braking seems right about ok, but i guess a little later braking is possible and accelerating earlier with a higher low speed is possible

Perhaps lawvs should have linked the Corkscrew into the Esses and the Dipper at Bathurst. Sure you have to climb a mountain just to get to that point, but Radillon and Eau Rouge into some other uphill section could work.

17:05 some time can be gained here as i belive you braked a bit to early, as well as maybe us drag breaking and start accelerating earlier since there is still enough kurb to use the same goes to the first chicane hell id even try to go slightly over sausage kurb not completly but like a bit on top to cut a bit more corner and gain time
and the jedah like part of the circuit when on the inside corner i dont know if its track limits but you can definetly go closer to the wall so less idstance is taken

I have been wanting to create from scratch in blender, BUT most videos start with copying from google maps as tutorials instead of the latter. Is there a better way or recommended videos to watch to start from scratch for beginners?
It really depends on what your goal is. Here I want complete control, so I make it from scratch. If you want a more realistic track, definitely do Google maps embedding.
There is a video on YT, called How to create your first track in Assetto Corsa (Part 2) (can't post links here) by a guy and thats the one I learned from you can try it.

Select all, hit M and merge by distance. That should remove verts that are close together, and make it easier on the performance aspect

If it's just the video then you're fine. If you wanna sell the tracks in the future, just make sure to check the license, many people on sketchfab for example upload under royalty free license and you can use them freely
