Oldonyo Sabuk mts/ Kilimambogo mts. It's one and the same name. The former is a maasai name. The Kikuyu call it Kianjahi, Kambas Kyanzavi. A mountain of Bufallo.

Thank you for tuning in, Erick. Will do, thanks.
Oldonyo Sabuk means mountain of the bufallo which when translated to Kiswahili is Kilima mbogo. They both means the same thing. Also, it's one mountain, they are not two. Kambas call it 'Kyanzavi' , kikuyus call it 'Kianjahi'. It is a very easy mountain to hike and climb all the way to the top.
Great insight, @mwelijah. Thank you so much for the clarification. Looking forward to hiking it someday.
Oldonyo Sabuk does not mean mountain of the buffalo. "Sabuk" is simply 'big' and Oldonyo is mountain. Though that and Kilima Mbogo refer to the same thing, the two names have no correlation.
As the names they are, they don't mean the same.
Thanks for showcasing my beautiful Ukambani! ❤
You are welcome, @harpalgajera. We hope to explore more of it sometime soon. Thanks for tuning in.
Two different mountains ,but oldonyo sabuk is in kilimabongo
Learning adventure and you guys deserve to be on the kenya tourism board. Peace and love you all

I never knew UK is this beautiful. Finally I get to visit the most hyped Kitonga Resort, it's worth it.
We were equally surprised, @safari_K.E. Kitonga is a must visit. Spend a day or two at the resort. It will be worth it.
Great content as usual! Mt. Kilimambogo is within the Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park.

Excellent video. Is all of Kenya this green always?❤ looking forward to your second episode ❤.
Thank you, @foxynana. Not quite. Most parts of the country are often dry. The vast green is due to the recent heavy rains across the country.

I have been following you guys all the way from the South African trip. Good content. If you can add a drone in some of these trips. Msitake jua.
Thank you, @TravelerKE. Will do. Working on it.
Noticed from your videos that unlike Tanzania and southern countries, in Kenya road lane markings are white on the shoulders and yellow or white in between lanes to signal oncoming or same direction traffic respectively. Other countries use yellow on the shoulder and stick to white in between lanes
Great observation, @eerabongo. Thanks for watching.
21:10.We are so used to Pearl being in your shots.
Sad she had to miss this one. Thanks for watching, Enock.

Pineapples in Thika town are more expensive because it is a city and cost of living and salaries are higher than up country, in the surrounding rural areas. 😅
Great point, George. Now we know where to get the cheapest pineapples😆
The cheaper ones wameiba from Delmote plantation 😂
@@felixmwasumewaanika😂😂😂😂
I've always wanted to know the reason behind.. thank you for this
Those guys (cheap or costlier) don’t have own farms. Then you can only guess where they source their produce that cheap.
Liv ulipotea For u to use kitui machakos Road,u must use Mombasa Road, then thika Road- kilimambogo- Kithimani- Kanyonyoo( Garissa- Kitui junction) ulipotea ulipoturn kwende kabaa afu ukaenda mwala kabaa is in kithimani
Yes we totally got lost. By the time we noticed, we had gone too far to go back. But we did enjoy, nonetheless. Thank you for watching.
Oldonyo sabuk and kilimabongo same mountain, thanks for visiting my home place mbiuni❤
From home place around 5 kms to Kitonga Gardens, our challenge is roads bt area is very good and productive,
@@anthonymakau3906 Noted with thanks. I can almost picture the views from your home. The Tala area is magnificent. I hope the roads will be improved in the future to improve accessibility. Thank you for watching.
Where is our pearl? Great content😊😊
Pearl cannot fit five people comfortably and that is why we opted to let her sit this one out. Thank you for watching, Ann.
Liv. that is unreal ~ )
🤍🤎❤️
Hi olivia that was nice, its near my home area though am married at mombasa,. You used a very long way, there is a shorter root through tala and also there is a very good scenery on top of the mountain a placa called nthui where you can see the whole yatta plateau
Hello, Khadija. Thank you for the feedback. Is the road through Tala good? Can Pearl manage it? We will revisit the place someday. Those views were magnificent.
@@LIVKENYA yes from nairobi to tala is all tarmac, then branch to an murram road better than the one you used in kabaa
The music that u have been using is better.....its our signature for channel
Glad you enjoyed it. We try to make each series unique with its own music to differentiate them.
Oldonyo- sabuk is a nature reserve and Kilimambogo is located inside oldonyo-sabuk....Btw, people go for day hikes at Kilimambogo
Great to learn, Bertha. Thank you for watching and for the insight.
Thanks Liv kenya for showcasing Ukambani..
1) the road from kithimani to Kabaa was made by Governor Mutua the chapchap way, and as such it's gone the chap chap way.
2) Kilimabongo is the mountain.. meaning Kilima and mbogo(Buffalo)..oldonyo sabuk is the town nearby and a national reserve
3) The river you saw isnt Galana at that point, its River Athi but down stream as it heads to the ocean it has different names,Galana... It's full of filth because all the waste of Nairobi industrial area amd sewers are deposited right into the river... The reason we have hige numbers of cancer from within..
4)Kitonga garden resort is iconic
😂unasema barabara ilkuwa na mbio kufuata Mutua.I like the satire.
Hello, Kennedy. Thank you so much for the comprehensive information. The chap chap road made me chuckle🤣🤣🤣. Something serious needs to be done about the Nairobi River. It is spreading its toxicity far and wide.
I agree. Kitonga is something for the books.
@@jacobmalingu2769 🤣🤣🤣 I know right?
I knew Governor Mutua would do a shoddy job with his maendeleo chap chap mantra! 😏
Now it’s gonna cost tax payers more money to fix these roads!
@@LIVKENYA chap chap translates to Quickie quickie.. if you know , you know.. that's Mutua for you
Hi Liv seems you went upto Makutano and used the Mks Kitui road.. the google rerouted because you could have gone back to where you came from the previous junction at min 23:44 and used Matuu Kanyonyo Kitui Highway but instead you used the Mks Kitui road by virtue of joining the road at Makutano ma mwala junction... Good views the Kibwezi road starts as from Kitui.. Looking forward for the rest of the Road trip
Thank you, Miss Hassan. Noted with thanks. We will be back to Kitui soon. We passed by Kibwezi in the dark but we could tell the views were magnificent. Thanks for watching.
I'm eagerly waiting for the Moshi coverage of your trip.
Thank you James. Stay tuned.
Kenya and Tanzania we do share names, we have Kitonga mountains in Tz too.
I guess it is due to the Bantu and Swahili influence. Thank you for watching, Mazikub
We literally the same people on both sides. Europeans just drew a line in the middle of communities
No! They have just copied a Tanzanian name “Kitonga”
@@jesusbrother7684 Lil bro there is no 'Tanzanian name'. Kenya and Tanzania are artificial entities curved out by colonialists.
In Southern Kenya and Northern Tanzania if it is not the exact same communities, then they are closely related culturally and linguistically.
There is more than one common name. Even people's name there are many that are the same. Who would you claim copied the other's names? You wouldn't find a Kenyan who says Tanzanians give themselves Kenyan names, because Kenyans aren't ignorant like that.
LivKenya this is a great watch just putting you up to speed, the pineapples you bought in Thika are legitly sold from a place along Mangu and the ones you bought in Kilimambogo are stolen from Delmonte farms and that is why they are cheap.
Thank you for tuning in, @lewanjoski. I feel sad about the supposedly stolen pineapples🤒
Point of correction- That road is Machakos-Kitui road and not Kibwezi-kitui road as you've indicated 39:55 .And next time while at it visit Wamunyu handcrafts(in Wamunyu town)for the best curios and wood carvings
Noted with thanks, Tesh. I have noted it down. Thanks for watching.
My number one YT subscriber....
🙌🏾🙌🏾
The 50 Bob pinneaples you bought are stolen pineapples from delmonte farm reason they are cheap but the pineapple in thika town are from Mangu which are genuine pineapples
That is sad to learn, Alex. Thanks for watching.
Enyewe mlikua mmepotea Katangi & Wamunyu towns are on Machakos-Kitui road
😅😅😅 We actually noticed we were lost when we saw that we were so close to Machakos on the map.
I wish you had enough time to climb the Nzambani rock in Kitui. Please arrange a 3 day trip to tour Ukambani. You will not regret.
Will do, Fatuma. Thank you for the suggestions and for tuning in.
I pray that the next Series become the Mt Elgon Circuit (Kenya and Uganda) before you go back to the Southern part of Africa 🙏 thanks Liv Kenya and the Crew
Great suggestion, @mtc. Will take it under advisement. Thanks for tuning in.
@@LIVKENYA always dear and thanks for putting Kenya, East Africa and Africa on Map 🙏
From what I was told by the locals, Ol Donyo Sabuk is the name of the park, and the mount is called Kilimambogo. It's quite a hike, but very refreshing when you are at the top.
600kms umeweza but ulitumia long route pale kabaa mwala,,,,,be that kid na massage
No wonder hata tulipotea. Nikipata video ya huyo mtoi nitashare. That was some thorough massage everyone needs😆
13:49 you just passed by home 😊
That is great, Peter. Thanks for watching.
Hello liv the galana river characterised by papers is simply athi river same river you cross on the katangi side....it is a main source of water to ukambani people....additionally the river dividing machakos and kitui counties is river mwitesyano.....simple meaning the roaring of river after heavy outpour....cheers
Hello. Thank you so much for the information, Eng. Nzioki.
That trash is from Nairobi. Which is why cleaning the river is vital
@@thegame7557 sure
Kilimambogo is the mountain
Ol donyo sabuk is the national park where kilimambogo is located
Noted with thanks, Jay. Thanks for watching.
@@LIVKENYA great content liv.... I'm hoping to join you soon
Athi Galana river is a river that is formed from Nairobi river reason all those dirt that was swept downstream from Nairobi
Great to learn, Alex. That was so much garbage. Quite unfortunate!

Welcome to the virtual family, @copysmith. We use Go Pro 9 and 10.

I appreciate the support, Kenneth. Thank you.
Hey, exactly at 40:10 minutes on this video, you are now my grandparents land. the road at point cuts through our family land. Katangi is my centre. the google gave you the correct route to kibwezi. you will experience good road and a section of plateau. The river you crossed before katangi its rive Athi. The dirt along the river banks came as a result of lastly floods. Otherwise the river is always cleaner that what you had seen. Save Journey.
Wow. You have a beautiful home. Noted with thanks and thank you for tuning in.
