It's better if you always stay on the same side as the steam engine. That way, you're never bowled by thoughtless main line trains. True, you don't always get as good a view. You would have done better to watch from the top of the footbridge, but that's too far back. It's much better when you ride the rails behind a steamy, believe me. Those volunteers ought to move the footbridge further forward, yet it doesn't look doable. Can't win them all. Happy riding.
