Probably the MVP of the YT MPC space.
Thanks for watching dude!
I love that soft clipper, my hi hats secret sauce, then bus to a sub mix. great video, we all need to use less FX/CPU with all the new plugins being released.
I forgot all about this page❤
A Treasure Chest Of Options... 3 Years And Still Learning Different Tricks, MPC RULES !
Yeh man definitely. Thanks for watching.
@@TheCratesMotel If Possible, Could You Check Out That New UVI OPAL Plugin... It Has Some Interesting Gems In ITS Layout. The Sidechain Feature Is Confusing But It Appears That It Mimics The 2LA and 1176 Compressors Very Well and Then Some.
I keep forgetting about these and then rediscovering them but they are really useful
Yeh man, I kept overlooking them. I kind of made the video to remind myself lol
Thanks for the reminder I was on my mpc one the other day looking for these inserts and couldn't remember where they were.
bro you’re the goat! really changed my approach to making beats in standalone. and I’ve been doing it for 6 years… just wanted to say thanks for these techniques! Peace.
Ah you’re welcome man. Thank you for watching.
Coming from Maschine I love this feature as a new MPC user. In Maschine the sampler has these sort of features and you can shape each sound without having to insert effects in the mixer. I use this a lot in Maschine so it’s great being able to do that here!
Ah ok. I’ve never really used Maschine. That’s cool. Thanks for watching brother.
Hidden gem
Definitely dude! Thanks for watching.
Bro, I was literally looking at this the other day and was wondering why are these here and are they the same as the effects. After your video I see they’re an alternative to insert effects. Thanks again for covering these effects. I’m going to experiment with them
I tend to forget these exists but I also forget there's retrospective recording sooo...^^
thx for the videos!
That’s a good reminder. I should make a video about that. Thanks for watching.
I'm happy to be apart of the MPC community. This is so cool!
I agree. It’s a great community. Thanks for watching.
Im speechless....what a way for low end kick sounds so phat...Hands down!
Yeh man, it can really beef things up. Thank you for watching.
I've been telling people not to sleep on the Drum FXs. Your right about there not being much info on them. On the Force you could use 1 of the 2 project macro's knob sets which are each a collection of 16 knobs that you can assign 128 parameter to each knob. So you could use that to change multiple Drum FXs at once. I don't know if the MPC can do that. I still would like to a deep dive into what you could do with them with different beats.
Thanks for sharing. I'm ashamed to admit, I didn't even know these were there! I'll normally just set my envelope and filter settings, and that's it.
Thanks for watching dude. They are definitely handy little tools.
very nice!
Thank you for watching dude.
Woooooo. Heavy bruh! Heavy!!! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
New to the MPC and didn't even know about this... LOL. Thanks for sharing and covering it!
Anytime man, thank you for watching.
The MPC IS DEEP..do not sleep on it
Mate are you taking the pisss?? Ive been using the one since the bloody week it came out, ive never bothered looking at that page. Couple of those are really really handy man. You earned my sub mate.
Thanks dude and thank you for watching.
Good stuff again bro
Btw: as you said these are per Pad Parameters only. One Tip (sure u know this) is to "flatten" the pads so you have baked in the effects to the samples. Less CPU stress and the possibility to use the FX once again on the Samples.
Hey man, thank you for watching. Yes of course, and also resampling etc. I just wanted to illustrate that with the drum FX you don't need to use up your slots and CPU is at a minimum, but of course, flattening, resampling, etc would free up everything. Also, if you automate over a whole track using the Drum FX, that can obviously cause issues when flattening if you want to change the automation at a later date. I love baking in effects though. I have touched on it in another video. It's what we used to do in the 80s and 90s. We had no choice, but it made you commit and forced you to make creative choices and stick to them.
Another Banger! Thank you Man !
You're welcome brother
Set the decimator to around 2.0, 2.1 and bitcrush to 12 and flatten the sample. After that, lower the pitch down. There will be an effect similar to sp1200 when changing pitch
Yeh man, I love Decimator. It loses a little low end when you do that though so you need to bring it back with a little EQ.
Hello my friend! you make the best content. you have helpt me with making my music stand out more! am greatfull to you, i like how you explain things. make sens! Take care and i hope you continue the work if you love it! 😀✌
Ah thank you brother. I really appreciate your comment.
Great video!
Top tips, I learned a lot from that 👍
Thank you for watching dude
Fantastic vid brother!!! 🔥👊🧡👍🔥
Thanks man, and thank you for watching
Great information 🙏👍
Thanks for watching dude
People bicker about how these sound yet I have never seen anyone use the Efx to fine tune the sound of their samples.
People should spend less time bickering and more time learning how to get better sound haha. Thanks for watching dude.
great video
🙏🏼
I’ve been using the drum fx wrong all this time! You fa king legend!!! Thanks, you have levelled me up on this mpc once again!
💪😎
Sometimes it’s hard to see the wood for the trees, as they say. And it’s all part of the journey. Thanks for watching dude.
The drum FX are amazing! It was interesting to learn about your workflow. Hadn’t considered the automation and CPU side of things, thanks!
You’re welcome dude. I actually missed them for ages and then found them one day and was like “Huh”?
@@TheCratesMotel it’s a deep device for sure, still learning new things 6 years in 😅
Another dope video. Donated to your p a y p a l bro Thank you.
Thanks man. Everything helps the channel. I really appreciate it.
Soooo… serious question.. why the hell aren’t you using the Q-Links to control the drum effects? It’s so much faster. Using the main data knob, one at a time, is clunky. Love your tutorial series - I’ve saved them all to a playlist - but for a producer that seems to focus on efficiency so much, missing the Q-Links seems a bit off.
Haha it’s a fair enough question. It’s habit dude. I started using the MPC in 1989 and even when I bought the 4000 in the early 2000s which was the first one I owned with Q links I never used them. We didn’t always have the luxury of Qlink lol. Also, talking of efficiency, the data wheel is way more accurate for me and I prefer a click. Lastly it’s a subjective thing. Horses for courses as they say. I’m just not really a fan of Qlinks, otherwise I’d probably buy the X. Thanks for watching dude.
@@TheCratesMotel - fair enough. But still - really enjoy your series. Keep them going! Good stuff. Looking forward to where the MPC OS goes later this year. 😉
@@EnochLight yeh man, I’m hoping for one of those updates where you feel like you have a new machine again.
@@TheCratesMotel - oh it’ll happen. Akai/Air are hard at work.
I wonder if the one downside you mentioned is actually a bug. Wouldn't be the first by far, lol.
I have wondered that and I sent a bug report and feature request but I did not receive any response from Akai, so...F knows lol
@@TheCratesMotel Akai not responding? That NEVER happens! Lol.
