Mae is that one girl on the Internet that plays the victim card after she done wrong. She did my boy Noah dirty , even he said Proximus was right . When the main character agrees with the villain, you know something ain’t right.
Yeah, after that, she kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, and Noa does have a point about what's left for the apes. I find it totally understandable trying to preserve your species, but why can't they just share. she didn't even apologize and was willing to shoot Noa despite saving her life
@@ryanwhorf6665at this point it’s believable because the humans are desperate to survive.
Had Proximus actually saw that kids book and read the areas of apes being cages, he probably would have used that as propaganda towards every ape and the Eagle clan to convince them harder on what humans are like and how he brought the clan to his kingdom for their own 'safety'.
I agree 😢
May Noah enjoy peace
When Noah looks through the NASA telescope he seems scared and frighten. When Nova looks through the telescope her self she is almost in tears. But in happy tears. I think they both seen some type of other source of human life.
It's Taylor coming back from his Space Mission =)
Who
You didn’t hear Noa say that he saw a black hole swallowing light. It could be the wormhole Icarus passes through.
@@eden20111where did he say that
He said a tube or a hole(I can't remember exactly) swallowing light? I figured he was just describing the telescope but I could see how it could be interpreted differently@@aarongonzalez4458
From the start you notice he is jealous of the birds bcuz his dad loves them. Until he accepts their beauty do the birds join . I cried twice in the film
Now, imagine if the movie could have been a thrilling prequel to "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" from the 1970s! Picture this intriguing thought: in that iconic film, where did all those mysterious people come from? How did they manage to get their hands on the enigmatic Alpha Omega Doomsday Bomb? These non-virus effected people living underground for centuries, hidden away from the ape city, crafting their ominous plans in secrecy. This new movie kind of answers all these questions. Well, in any event, that was my impression on it.
I have a feeling the next installment will take place from a human perspective, and it will start off in the old world, introducing the main character as they set off for space on the Icarus, catching the prequels up to the original.
People seem to be missing a huge point.... when Mae Returned to her home.... the Human was in protective gear. Seems the Virus is still active and that Mea may be the only immune Human.
@@jameymikels1886 Or she sacrificed herself, knowing that being outside with apes, she will catch the virus and won't be able to come back to her people. Maybe it will take some time before there are symptoms. After all, the virus might have evolved in 300 years and it takes longer for humans to turn into animals.
I say Mae's actions are justified. I don't get so much hate for her. The apes killed her team. She was willing to work with Noa but she had to sacrifice them so her species won't face extinction or war. Being good all the time won't lead to a good ending. In that situation when she opened doors and then got surrounded she was dead either way. Why not go out with a bang? I would have done the same thing.
I agree. Apes have shown they are no better than humans. A cure for the virus that restores humanity to its dominant position and reduces apes to their original status would be a fitting conclusion to the second trilogy. Some in the science fiction crowd have a penchant for the dark. The macabre. Too much time living in their parent's basement.
In the planet of men by the original author (the real secuel). Humans take the world again, and apes back to his original situation: just animals. Maybe the director is going to take this idea.
Hopefully. Humans took thousands of year to get where they were. So giving it away just like that is stupid. Humans together strong and now with all the technology we’ll win. Mean apes can’t be smart all around or won every fight. There has to be a continent where they got wiped out and humans took over. Or lived together in peace.
Just Watched it at the movie theaters together with my fam and it was incredible, from the start until the end, the first scene was Caesar's cremation scene where all apes including rocket Maurice and Cornelius are seen in the movie. The ending was Great!! you can see the people who survived the simian flu virus living underground finding a solution to communicate with other people in the world who are still out there, May was the Key for the last hope. I think there's still a continuation story after kingdom of the planet of the apes. I hope there are still more planet of the apes movies to come!!
I was confused by the scene where the ape told Noa in the beginning "there is more" before he died, what did he mean, that there was more apes
I thought Mae was going to be faithful to Noa
@@thec5875ye. He told Noa there was more Apes coming because he got attacked by apes from that same group
yeah , you thought the eagles coming to save everyone was great, that's lord of the rings crap, by the way, no one died so enjoy the next crap movie with no violence
@@thec5875He was warning him about the other apes with the masks
satellite, telescope, hope they bring Icarus back in the future installment.
That's way in the future tho, like waaaayyyyy in the future, would have to be in a reboot of the old movies, everything we're getting now is just prequel content tho
@@michaeltenn983they went to space in rise of the planet of the apes movie what are u talkin bout
May is the villain in this story. She is disgusting.
I completely agree she did Noah and his clan dirty in the end
Disagree. She's doing what's necessary to save humanity.
@@rocknrollstar2798Humans together strong 💪
@@alyrousse8605 Damn right. I would amend that axiom slightly. 'Humans together stronger'.
Her actions may have wronged Noa who saw her as a friend but in the end she did what she felt was necessary. Keep the weapons in the vault out of Proximus’ hands and getting what was needed to try and regain what humanity lost. She wasn’t evil. She just made hard choices for the good of mankind
Loved it!!! Ending reminded me of WALKING DEAD. There are others out there. Most of the APES films in NYC so maybe in Europe or Africa etc there are different situations. The herd of zebras was great. Maybe from the BRONX ZOO? Cannot wait for next chapter!!!!

Centries after "ceasar" not "decades" Good review
the movie said a couple of generations later so it could only be around 30 years later
@Kalilp3 no 1 generation is 70-80 years an average lifespan. And yes it was refering to human generations because the director said 400 years later
I wish the film had just stated: over 400 years later
One generation is about 25 years. The movie said many generations.
@@negentropy9560 way more than 25
The apes actually taught me how humanity had developed the art of falconry. I like the song and beat the eagle clan used to call in the eagles to attack Proximus and I recognized as the original score of the Ape franchise.
I hope this new trilogy will end with Humans and Apes living together in peace
Same
These are prequels to the og movies so doubt it
May was also greeted by another woman wearing a bio suit, showing the virus is still functioning, meaning May is doomed. But did she relate about the help she received from Noah?
Virus may be gone but the people in the compound immunity may be weak to other things. Always be safe as like how smallpox killed so many in the beginning of exploration to other countries.
@@334honda True! just as many or more people were killed by illness than WW1, after that war was over.
But it is not known if the virus had gone, it could have perimetry embedded into environment naturally. Noa eye's were green, that could be a clue to the virus still being active.
May isn’t doomed, the people in the suit are
@@NYCGAL328 how?
She may be carrier of the virus just not displaying any symptoms @@dragdragon23
Hated the ending. She was going to shoot Noah. Proximus was right.
I actually like the ending it really shows the tragedy in the world of the planet of the apes everyone just wants to live.
She wasn’t planning to shoot Noah. She was preparing just in case she had to for self-defense. That scene showed trust issues that we humans have. It’s an excellent demonstration of realism in international relations. States will negotiate out of hope for peace but they will always prepare for war.
@@StockyDude this whole situation is really sad
@@elijahbaker781Well, that’s what I love about these new Planet of the Apes movies. They bring up themes that turn a mirror on humanity to examine the good and the bad, and hopefully causes the audience to think more about these things.
@@StockyDude yeah
I watched movie THAT WAS GREAT MOVIE I FINALLY WATCHED ANOTHER PLANET OF THE APES THIS IS INCREDIBLE
I was surprised at the end cause I thought the virus destroyed all human’s intelligence but I guess some went into hiding and some were immune to the evolve virus.
I still say there will be no astronauts in this new trilogy. Not enough time has passed for a considerable Ape civilization to build up for them to encounter. I think the next two films (box office permitting) will focus on the backstory of these intelligent humans, their perspective and how they develop in their tense relationship with the apes.
I’m excited to see more of these movies, 7 more are coming. I hope soon
Why y’all not talking about the conversation they had at the ending
Just watched it, one question... Water finds it's own level right? how did 10 or 20 feet of water flood inside the bunker and then rise up 80- 100 feet or more? Am I the only one to question that?
Basically this is setting up the big war where the statue of liberty is blown off if it's foundation into the sea where it was found by Charlton Heston at a much later date. With this movie they can begin to tell a story none of us have ever heard or seen as from previous movies it's only been implied. So, if this is the case we are going to get some really good movies to come in the future from this franchise.
She blew the dam knowing that Noah and his family and friends could die. The same Noah who gave her his coat he valued so much so she couldn't get cold.
And later she went to him with a gun in her hand ready to kill him AGAIN, just in case.
She is despicable.
And by the way, are we headed to a war between humans and apes... AGAIN?
We had three movies already about that. Is there no other plot line they can come up with?
So when one of the groups wins will we have a 'new' trilogy with another war?
Is this a rinse and repeat scenario?
Thats the commentary, human fear of being inferior, and apes rise to dominance will lead to war. Its up to the viewer to decide which side they want to root for.

There should be two films left. I have them all on cassette believe it or not. Cost me 15 dollars and a thrift shop
I thought I heard that this is the start of a new trilogy, and that in the end, it's supposed to lead up to the start of the ORIGINAL
1968 film! Imagine the series ending with a reenactment (with new actors of course) of Astronaut George Taylor landing on the planet. Then a notice saying "The Beginning!" would appear right before the credit roll. Is there any truth to this? Feel free to reply
This is the first POTA movie i have seen in a long time but i had 2 major questions. Were did the electricity come from that lit up the inside when Mae turned the power on? Hadn't this place been shut down for many years? I didn't see any solar panels anywhere. Secondly, how did all of theother humans survive? What did they eat and drink to last as long as yhey have? Just found these things to be interesting.
Noah saw the space station in orbit out in space
I thought you were about to say
The fitness gram pacer test is a multi stage test
Am I tripping or can the ending be foreshadowing them going to space or something space related kind of like the original movies
My guess is there's a space station in stationary orbit seen through the telescope
God bless America, God bless the Enclave!
Yea Raka got "killed" way too quickly
Because i know Hollywood is that selfish though
Mae is not anti ape, she wouldn't have befriended or helped Noa's clan if she was!
she had the revolver ready to blast Noa at the end
She doesn't want to wipe them out but she's neither pro-ape nor equal opportunities ape. She used Noa and his clan for her own ends. She serves humans and is only willing to help apes if it doesn't conflict with her first priority to humans. The trailers have very heavily distorted the narrative of the film, including from the ape side. The trailers portray Noa exclaiming hunting humans is wrong and together strong means more than ape but everyone together rainbows and bunny rabbits. However it wasn't the case. Both sides are selfish.
@@CoffeeFiend1 I can't agree that she only used Noa to get the ahem... book. She did return to Noa's village to say goodbye before returning to her faction, although she also gave some long speech about how Proximus was right... while holding a gun.
@@jonjonjrfrmcali Indeed which is what I said.
She did that for herself, she basically used noa . But in the end showed she kinda had a heart when she Diddnt kill him
I bet Mae's last name is Méndez.
Dumb ending. Pretty much the same ending as the second movie with humans finding more humans
You all shitting on Mae, she doesn’t care about the apes but still she never hurt Noa and also saved Suna.
She was going to shoot Noa during her “goodbye” and she nearly drowned his mom and his entire clan. Noa was clearly hurt by her selfishness.
She also saved Soona from the ape that had a knife at her throat.
@@willienelson1245 yeah it was her, not Noa’s mom, my bad.
@@christanmartinez1238I doubt that was what the movie was trying to convey. Personally, my interpretation (albeit probably flawed) was that the gun was a precaution, similar to how humans in real life often act overly precautious (ie things like backup plans).
Just another girl boss
Pleeeeease don't connect with the original movies that's so lame
Mae definitely represents the bad qualities of humanity.
No she chooses humanity over the apes she is neither Correct or wrong. If you were in the situation would you choose the apes over Humanity or would you rather let the apes destroy Humanity completely??.
She represents all qualities of humanity. Chief among them, our never ending drive to shape the world around us.
I'm sorry i did not like it.. at all. Just my opinion. It was Friday night and the theater was empty for this movie. I should have known then that it wasn't that good.
That means you're dumb.
My theater was almost full when I watched yesterday.

Eagles man got killed by eagles wtf
huh?
human would be killed by two eagles
Way too long and with the girl it added nothing waste of time this soo Boring
😴 💤
Nope nope and nope. This movie didn't work for me. Overuse of let's-cut-corners CGI and overacting by Mae and Proximus in particular. Mae goes from a starved and shivering orphan in a cheap video game to a badass 007 Jane Bond with an agenda as soon as she speaks? Meanwhile, Noa gets captured and becomes teacher's pet??? Pul-leeease. In the previous series, you couldn't help but root for Caesar because he gets wrecked. But in Kingdom, I found it hard to sympathize with any of these characters except for Rakka. Maybe this movie is fine for Millennials but I'm a Boomer who's been a POTA fan since Charlton Heston. I never thought I would say this but I will sorely miss Matt Reeves.
Mae was pretending to be dumb and noa was a teachers pet cuz he was smart and hes the only ape that we know that befriended a human . Proximus thought noa might know something from what mae told him. The fact you cant tell the way mae was acting at the start is an act is baffling 😂
Dude. It's not that bad. I'm glad we have people trying to give good story telling
Mae was acting, she stated her mom taught her to blend in with ferral humans AND it was literally her mission.act dumb, retrieve Key
If Matt Reeves wants to follow in Tim Burtons shoes who are we to judge 🤷🏽♂️
