Thus, a good number of people can come together to worship, perform some religious beliefs or gathering together for a common course.

True that certain names have been associated with particular religious organizations or sects but there is nothing wrong in borrowing terminologies. For example, some Christian organisations freely use the term synagogue whereas synagogue is associated with Jewish religion. I share the view that it's not a name that makes an organisation good or bad, but what's inside.

Church doesn't really represent Christianity. The word CHURCH is gotten from a Greek word EKKLESIA which is defined as “a called-out assembly or congregation.” Ekklesia is commonly translated as “church” in the New Testament.
So anyone can raise any structure and call it Church. That's why before you enter any building called church, be careful
