    This is one of the things that people can easily overlook. Anytime someone tells me they're traveling internationally for the first time (I live in the US), it's one of the first things I tell them to get before going!

    I head out on my trip to Iceland tomorrow afternoon. This is the first of your videos I watched since I booked my trip to the land of Ice and Fire back in March. I've watched them since and re-watch them in case there is something pertinent I may have missed or forgotten.
    Thanks for the videos! I think they'll help immensely. 🐭

    Good vid. Im from Iceland and when I go to the US I take an adapter, Luckily most gadgets are rated for all volts. But any way as you say♦ it is very important to look at this if you don't want to fry your phone.

    When you're buying a voltage converter to use with a hair dryer, or basically with anything that is made to get hot, you have to make sure to get one that can handle the power that those devices need. The little ones that fit in your pocket are typically only good for a couple hundred watts, and for a hair dryer you'll need 1000 watts or more. You may actually be better off just buying a 220 volt hair dryer at your destination, or get one that can be switched between 110 and 220 V, so you'll just need a plug adapter...

      Try 4.8mm plug if 4.0mm plug loose on 4.8mm outlet. In India, Type D 5.0mm plug electric outlets could fit 4.8mm, but loosen on 4.0mm

    What happens if u plug a dual voltage curling iron into a convertor?

    • @IcelandwithaView
      @IcelandwithaView  Před rokem

      It should work! I'm no electrician so please do more research but dual voltage devices should be just fine with an ADAPTER only - since the prongs won't fit into the wall properly. No convertor needed. I would assume that the converter and curling iron wouldn't be affected at all if you used both.

      @@IcelandwithaView yes! I checked my hairdryer curl and flat irons and two of them go up to 230- or maybe it was 240- but one does not. So I definitely need the converter. Is this BOTH a converter and adapter?
