"No fracture, no foul"
Sums up 80's basketball right there.
yup!
inefekt69 yeah until you watch games from the 80s and see all the touch fouls lmao
Tony Bowyer Haha there are always touch fouls being called. Referees aren’t perfect. Jordan got hammered in this clip and no foul was called, plain and simple
thuggery > talent
Chick Hearn must have trademarked “no blood no foul” cuz I remember that more than the fracture version
The announcer said, "You been around this league no fracture no foul!" That's another example of how physical the 80's and early 90's were unreal!
Just 80s , by the time MJ started winning the league was soft
@@therealjayz8036 a individual who doesn't know any better would believe you. Fortunately enough for me I know better and I lived through Jordan's entire career.
@@nationalchampions lol that dude must be a stupid kid born in 2003
@@therealjayz8036 Are you nuts, that's when the NBA was so competitive in the 80's, it start getting soft in the late 90's
@DG 1 So you were between 1-10 years old in 1990. How much knowledge do you expect us to believe you had of the '80s-era NBA?
Theres only one MICHAEL JORDAN and damn do i miss watching him play. It was a great honor.
Prime Barkley was a beast too. I'm talking 89-93.
And that is why MJ would average 45 ppg if he were playing today.
Today's soft defense? Above 50ppg for MJ
Easy!!!!
Wasn't a Fan of Jordan but rather an Isiah Thomas and the Pistons fan, it's True he would average that today. I don't even watch the NBA or NFL no where near the way I used to because it's not the same .
Even Steve Kerr said the other day there is no defense today. Same week Luka scored 73 Embid scored 71 and two players scored 60+
54.7ppg would be about right
Dam what a underrated dunk
Posterised!
@@PragmaticProminence This was a normal day in the NBA back then...
Mike did stuff like this all the time.
@@kingbuck427 What makes this a little different was that was the "Jordan rules" Pistons and their sergeant at arms Bill Laimbeer lol! Laimbeer tried to foul him hard but couldn't stop the funk
@@playboymaxim I'm well aware
My comment was a response to the original comment
According to who's rating 🤔
"no fracture, no foul." Funny how it's gone to the complete opposite since then. Players can barely look at each other without getting a technical now.
It's a reflection of society and political correctness.
Yep. The cancer is spreading to everything.
Here's one: basketball is about skill, not about who can hit each other the hardest without getting a call.
+pentuplemintgum666 it's interesting that you see "being nice to people" as a cancer. I bet you're a big Trump supporter, and if you're not, you should be. He shares your worldview.
The commentators were saying that ironically. Obviously they meant that an elbow to the neck should've been called a foul.
Jordan Was Flat Out Different!
As much as I've watch MJ videos since I was a kid 30 years ago, I am still baffled at how many more dunks I have yet to see by MJ in my lifetime. Absolutely unbelievable. I can't believe a dunk like this was not super hyped and viewed by every hardcore NBA fan. Just shows you MJ's testament to the art of dunking and how often he regularly created prolific dunks night in night out.
We only have 60% of his games were this highlights came from, imagine whats in the 40%? And those are from his early years..
@@rv7065 and where did you get that numbers from lol
Bro this average azz dunk. It’s all memories and nostalgia buddy
ya this dunk was crazy
The LeBron super fans can't stomach this and for the fact u truly had to be brave to go inside like MJ would've un a tough league. Now people cry abt love taps not being called for fouls 😂
80 and 90s era No blood no foul.... todays era no flop no foul...
Haaaa perfect choice of words. !!
This would have been a flagrant 2 with a fine nowadays lol
Would also have been a T on Michael for taunting SMH
The nba is unwatchable today.
Would have an easy 6-8 more points on drives and layups and at least 5-6 more points on free throws as well!
One of the best dunks of his career that you don't see on the highlight reels
a legit 13 fter and he dunked on a punk ass
Because of the dumb camera angle
Incredible speed and grace. MJ looked like an olympic long jumper on the runway here....
Because ... he did it so often ... dunking over people's head ... Poster boy!
@@kng5451 I think they meant because of the distance he took off from.
This shows how unbelievably strong Jordan was to still be able to throw the dunk down with the contact.
What’s crazy is MJ never flopped, it wasn’t apart of the game yet. What could he do in today’s game? Average 45 and still shoot 50% 38% from 3 and 85% from the stripe. While sitting out most of the 4th in blow outs. Insane.
@@micaheldey1981 Michael was incredibly good at selling a foul, but it was part of the play as his fadeaway was unguardable without fouling.
@@inazuma3gou yeah that was a smart technique but never be a flop.
@@inazuma3gou wrong video to make that comment. This is an egregious no call.
I think it was Kurt Rambis who said that the NBA was full of fast, athletic players but Jordan could do amazing things because he wasn't just fast and athletic,he was also amazingly strong.
Jordan is hella strong. He got whacked in the air with two arms and he finished the dunk clean. If the camera angle was better this dunk would be more highlighted because this is the first time I’ve seen this. I can’t remember where I saw this but in the 80s not everything was recorded/broadcasted so there is a bunch of prime Jordan highlights lost forever. This guy is 100% the goat.
plus Laimbeer is 7 feet
That's just tells you how hard officiating is. With advent of replays and using different angles it's pretty obvious this was missed call and should have been 3-point play. This also shows how strong Jordan's forearm and grip were. Probably the most spectacular in-game finisher of all time.
when you grew up watching Mike do something majestic every game ? believe me , theirs a reason this dunk wasnt hyped .. This was every game for MJ
Facts
This was such a routine play for Jordan that the announcers are talking about what the defender did instead.
THAT'S WHY IT DON'T BOTHER ME WHEN THEY SAY hehaw IS GOAT KOBE QUENCHED OUR THIRST A LITTLE, AND AE HAS A WAY TO GO YET BUT THIS WAS A NIGHTLY EPISODE.
pretty much...
MJ has sooo many dunks and most of them are while being defended to me that's what separates him from the rest. Last name ever first name greatest!
Allow me to disagree with « while being defended » ...
WAKE UP???! Julius "DOCTOR J" Erving. Film don't LIE!!!! LMMFAO. 🤣🤣🤣
Like a sprained ankle boy he ain’t nothing to play with
Great quote: "Last name ever first name greatest! Slow hand clap...
MJ was the dude that would look to dunk on everyone especially to bigger, taller players. No one was safe.
No one.
Anyone could get it. No exceptions or rainchecks
That reminded me 🙂 - watch Danilovic dunk in Sabonis 🙂
@notimportant everyone dunked on him.
Ooo ooh... He sure sounds scary!!!
Bill Laimbeer can watch this over and over for the rest of his life. Jordan dunking on him.
Bill was about to win his first ring that year. He'll be fine remembering this
Nothing wrong being dunked.on by Jordan, now if John Stockton dunked on you, that's different
Bill serves hard fouls
Jordan gives back hard dunks. That was so nice.
Yep and they both just keep playing.
@@chuckbrown5484 Yep ALL of today's stars would have had their hands up in the air whining to the refs after that one.
This dunk should be so much more hyped... but those darn camera angles dont help much. And also, how was that NOT an and-one?
Word that's a fact
It's not an and one bcz the NBA wasn't soft like now
Makaveli Nigga shut the fuck up with that shit. ITS A FOUL. ITS A FOUL NOW AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN A FOUL THEN. “No fracture no foul” Lol that’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard from an NBA announcer. Like that shit is cool🤦🏾♂️
@@spcfl1461 How old are you? Cause the commentators back in the day, they were saying "no free rides to the hoope...this is the playoffs...", and we were watching defence on a drive, that today would be a discualification... If you haven't seen 80's or even 90's basketball (even on youtube), realise that today they are fooking going to the ballet...soft...the defenders ARE NOT able to defend nowdays, everything is a foul...
Because it was competitive back then for real for real
Jordan would break the internet if he debuted today the same way he did in 84 ... 7 foot monsters shooting 3‘s while this 6‘6“ guy is catching bodies & making acrobatic miraculous shots on the regular
100% right and you know it cause Ja highlights go so viral. MJ was Ja, except 6'6 with hands the size of Shaq with young Russel Westbrooks energy. He'd elevate the gane today as much as he did back then, truly a special athlete.

So underrated dunk!
Because you aren’t a Jordan fan. He lost this series so u probably avoid everything outside of his 6 title seasons like all Jordan fans do

The best dunk I never seen till now
The man basically jumped from foul line and dunked on the man
"no fracture, no foul." old school NBA.
Foul!!!
An awesome dunk made even better by the fact that it was on Laimbeer.
dunks on Pistons were the sweetest
Uh nice posterization but put your pom-poms Up ,Laimbeer and the Pistons beat Jordan alot more than he beat them.
@@barryd-mx5eu They just had to beat them really well once in the 1991 Eastern conference finals and the sad boys were done.
@@VinayakPande53 ,they Still beat Jordan more than he beat them and those guys were old by the time the Bulls finally beat them. People forget Detroit went deep in the playoffs 4-5 years straight including when the Bulls finally beat them.. plus with the help of commissioner David Stern ..
@@barryd-mx5eu Rodman and Isaiah were both just two years older than MJ and didn't suddenly get over the hill just a year after the Bulls took them to seven games. They got their asses handed to them and they left like wusses without shaking hands and were consigned to history.
Ever single game was a gift to witness. The guy was obsessed, had something to prove every night (to his father). While there will be greats, we’ll never see anything close again.
As someone who couldn't stand Laimbeer, I enjoyed this dunk!
Hater.
Laimbeer was, and probably still is, a pos.
@barryd-mx5eu I hated Laimbeer too. Dirty player. Tried to make up for his lack of skill by being an enforcer. Real POS.
He was the dirtiest player I've ever seen in any sport. He'd make Vinnie Jones blush.
You represent 99% of the planet. Including Lambitch's mom.
You get a sense of how strong he was.. dunking on a 7fter and finishing through heavy contact ain’t as easy as he made it look
One of the reasons the Bulls finally broke through and was able to defeat the Pistons, was he and Pippen realizing they'd have to muscle up.

@@garyaugustus1009 wrong, they recruited Rodman from Pistons, because they were getting their ass kicked by Pistons hard physical game. It's mentioned in every single MJ interview about Pistons and Rodman.
@@StarekS SMH they got Rodman from San Antonio and that was well after Detroit's heyday. Detroit was basically a non-factor by the time Chicago acquired Rodman.
@@StarekS you dont know basketball do you...
Wouldn't be called a foul today either. The dunk wouldn't have even been contested for fear of "being posterized".
If a big man today was the only one back and Jordan was even at the 3 point line, they could just jog out to bounds to throw the ball back in.
I love how he stared him down after that dunk 😂
I noticed Jordan’s trick. When he lifts off it’s so far from the rim the defender tries to lift off and time the jump at the same time but doesn’t have the same hang to stay in the air as MJ. It’s a mind trick if you think about it. Forcing someone to respond rather than a timely anticipated attempt. Genius.
In some instances..that might be true but there were many instances where Jordon challenged a 7 footer waiting for him at the rim. Mike could jump flat footed off one foor or two fee and elevate. over you ....the Famous dunk on Ewing going baseline was a perfect example. Mike spun base line took two quick steps to a waiting Ewing and bang history.
Dudes were just lucky to get out of the way…MJ scared everyone, always the attacker on both sides, attack was his response. Knock ball loose, get ball, breakaway facial, no one wants to be a part of that image. I’d credit lamo for trying, but we all know he’s a dirty rotten b, which just adds to him getting yammed all over. I hope lamo’s family was watching haha.
He was coming for him, and him, he was definitely coming for him too. And…MJ totally violated lamo, bad boy clown wanted to do harm and promptly was penetrated and exploded in front of all. All over your face down your chin. Nuclear. Ouch, soul scarring, for what little soul the big lunk had. Bulls fan for life, these days I can like Daly rip, dennis, dumars, egh with salley and Isaiah, but not lamo.
And this is why NBA stars nowadays are lucky they weren't playing on this era.
Nah, they can throw hands.
@@jauharilee7496 Too much crying lol
@@jauharilee7496 have you ever seen a basketball player throw hands? It's more of a slap fight.

Shows u how strong mj was that took strength to complete that dunk
Hard to overstate how important Jordan’s freakishly large hands were to his game. It allowed him to jump quickly without having to worry about the ball being secure in his hand and it let him maintain control of the ball upon contact with the defender.
Sean Kempe and Kobe, two high flyers with relatively small hands, could not do what Jordan did here without making adjustments to ensure the ball didn’t fly out of their hands. As Phil Jackson said, Michael had billion dollar hands.
Underrated observation
Dammmmmmm, to still be able to finish that. 💪🏼
Mj in is prime
But he lost that series. Lost to them again in 1990. Finally beat them in 1991 to go to the finals and win his first of 6 nba titles.
ILovestorms thanks for the info but he really didn’t need all that he only said how this was Jordan in his prime.
Rust Cohle If we’re being real

That Detroit team wouldn't be allowed to play in today's NBA
While

And Laimbeer still hates Jordan to this day. Just another reason why.
I miss the days when players on other team weren’t so buddy buddy and brought intensity to the game. I wish there was more player to player hatred.

@@garry1220able the bad boy pistons were sore losers especially Thomas and Laimbeer
