  • Woodturning burl can be the most satisfying experience. Especially when you're able to turn such a gnarly piece into a beautiful vase with a matching spout and handle!
I found this hardwood burl on the beach here in Florida (given the marine worm holes) which was unusual because normally you find either light and airy or soft and spongy pieces of wood- neither very suitable for woodworking.
I've been holding onto this piece for a couple years now waiting to do something special with it so here it is! Burled wormwood submerged in a charcoal/bronze epoxy mix with a matching spout and handle! I couldn't be happier with the result. The wood is beyond stunning and the patterns in the epoxy turned out amazing.

Absolutely Stunning! At first when you were pouring that black and brown epoxy on the wood, I thought Ugghh he is messing up a gorgeous cool wood piece and I wondered how in the heck were you going to make a pitcher from that odd wood shape. I am just amazed at how stunning it turned out and how you are able to see what you want to do with wood and the finished product. I only wish I had that type of talent to take something and create an fabulous piece. I will look forward to watching more of your videos. So impressive!

Epoxy opens up a lot of options when it comes to using misshaped pieces of wood!
      I’m glad you enjoyed it!
