We go in 9 days and our Orlando holiday has been planned on Frugal Brit videos. No pressure but our entire holiday is in your hands!!!
Hope you have a great time, let me know how you get on!
Is the Jim Carrey style Grinch in Suess land year round or only during Christmas?
@@styxx0500I think it's for Christmas. I believe it last from late November to end of December. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
@@styxx0500it’s only for Christmas, I go all the time
How was your trip
My fiancé and I absolutely loved that Bob Marley restaurant! So secluded, doesn't even feel like you're dining in CityWalk, they do a good job at making you feel like you're in Jamaica especially with the authentic Jamaican/Jerk cuisine and the live reggae music!
I always love your videos. Your format is perfect and you offer so much useful information for everyone.
Thank you so much! Appreciate the support as always 😁
I love your videos, brit. Never stop making them 💟
Thank you David 😁
Love your videos, used them time and again to help plan my first trip last year! Have you ever been on a Disney cruise? I’d love to hear your review/guide to DCL?
Thanks for the great video! I love them!
Glad you like them! 😁
I won’t ever not get excited when I see you upload 😂❤ the best
Happy to hear that! 😁
Our favourite channel for all things Orlando. Cool, calm and considered 👍🏼
Much appreciated 😁
So helpful! I arrive on 29th October and cannot wait. Thanks mate 🎉
Very welcome, hope you have the best time 😁
Excellent as always.
Just me, but we loved brew and grille for sports, fries and stuff and Excellent service.
Also, moving away from Unibersal, we adored Millers Ale House on I-Drive for an excellent day of NFL and great hospitality.
Keep up the great work, Frugal lad 😊
I’ll be covering Millers for my next video 👍😁
Great video again 👍
We find the NBC Sports Grill decent for price, quality and speed of service. Not premium by a long shot, but good food at a good price for Universal.
On IDrive I don't think you can go far wrong with Millers.
I’ll be covering Millers in the next video 👍
Really like your list. My family and I also had really slow wait times at Cowfish - good call out.
My buddy was getting really angry 😂
First! 🎉🎉 I’m a huge Frugal Brit fan!!😊 I didn’t care for Cowfish much. I think it was the service. My waitress just didn’t want to be there and admitted it. I explained to her every job is a stepping stone until she reaches her goals and finds her dream job.
🥇 😁
Was very happy to see a new video from you this morning! Best restaurant lists are highly subjective and your list is respectable with nothing to raise my eyebrows.... except Mythos. Yes, I know Mythos has won awards and the atmosphere is kind of neat, but we have always found the menu to be overrated and Mythos doesn't even make our starting list of places we want to eat at. Finnegan's, however, is one of our favorites. I was sorry to see the Scottish Egg appetizer is gone as we loved that. I also enjoyed the Bangers and Mash, though truth be told, I love English Bangers and can't find them anywhere around where I live in Colorado. As far as prices go, some of the places were very expensive, but for the most part, most prices seemed in line with overall theme park prices so just kind of something to be expected and not really out of line with modern day fast food restaurant prices. Also, as an classic airplane and aviation fan, Jimmy Buffet putting that beautiful airplane there instead of passing it along or selling it to someone who would keep it flying disgust me. Another great video and looking forward to the next one! Thanks.
Last visit I sealed it for me, just such a lovely place, and the service was incredible. Thanks for watching and for the kind words as always 👍👍
Agree. The price for Mythos' food is wildly overpriced, which I think is underwhelming. You're paying for atmosphere and plating. Personally, I'd rather pay for a great tasting meal than an elegant, less than ideal portion for my appetite meal.
Confisco Grill is so underrated and one of my favorite restaurants!
Ahhh so many restaurants I wanna try for the first time! Lol
Myself and husband ate at toothsome when we were in Orlando for our honeymoon in September. It was really good. Definitely will go back again.
We went to Antojitos for the first time in May. It was amazing.
I wanted to visit in May but the kids demanded toothsome’s
I’ve been really pleased with the quality and flavor at Antonio’s. They start early in the day slow cooking their pork for carnitas. 😊
Great video!!!
Thank you! 😁
I've been taking notes on Universal since I want to go in early December of either 2025 or 2026 (I am waiting for Epic Universe to open lol). Food is definitely going to be critical, especially depending on if I drive or fly (I'd rather drive personally, it's cheaper). Of course a number of other factors play into it too, like if my mom will come (my dad and youngest brother don't do theme parks) and if I can get my other younger brother and his family to come. Main priority is to go with my younger brother and his family since they were supposed to come with my mom and youngest brother to Disney World for my 40th birthday, but he's military and almost 3 weeks before our trip he had an assignment overseas so not only did he had to cancel his reservations but he missed the holidays with his family (which happens and you learn to live with it, but it still sucks). They did go to Disney after he got back though for he was only gone for 6 months.
But anyway for now, food wise, I am going to be on a bugget and I am going to pick and chose what's important. Like meal wise, when it comes to a decent meal, I am looking at the Minion's Cafe for sure.
Btw, do you know if using the app for Quick Service places to order your food from your phone helps saves time? It definitely helped at Disney. Great video too, I have been looking strictly at the theme park joints that I forgot about City Walk. My game plan may be (especially if I fly) is I have one major meal in the park and eat snacks, while having a quick breakfast at one of the hotels I plan to stay at.
Great video 👏
Thank you 😁
While I largely agree with your rankings, I note the conspicuous absence of Thunder Falls Terrace, which in my opinion is one of the Top 3 restaurants at UO. Easily. Excellent food, reasonable prices, great theming, awesome view of the Jurassic Falls ride.
Yeah it’s a shame I couldn’t fit it in 😢
Ate at toothsome on my honeymoon a couple of weeks ago...amazing burgers!! And deserts are unreal! The milkshakes are unreal too...albeit lil bit expensive. Will def make a few reservations for our next visit 😋
So good!
Ate at the Leaky cauldron too....thought theirs was decent British grub tbh, did fish and chips and the cottage pie😋....sticky toffee pudding on the other hand...not so good 😂
The bigger reason to recommend Mythos is that it's likely in its last year or two of operation before Lost Continent finally gets finished and gets converted to something new. It's sad to see such a unique concept for a park attraction get slowly cannibalized over the course of its life, but I suppose it's inevitable for all but the most popular spots.
Yeah I’m hoping they can keep it as it is, or with very minor changes!
FB. Nailed another review 👍🤝
Thank you Dax 👍👍
what would be the best option for a light, not too expensive lunch on citywalk? like after arriving from a flight, and our room isnt ready. thanks
Probably breadbox 👍
I will check that out! i actually just booked cowfish for the day we arrive at 12pm. maybe we can share a bento box and a milkshake. thank you! great channel!@@TheFrugalBrit
Stayed 10 nights this July at the Hard Rock Hotel and despite our intentions, didn't leave the property for dining. So we got to try nearly everything except Margaratvilla and Bob Marleys. Honestly, given all I've heard I'd been expecting disappointment, but I was really surprised by some of the meals we had there. In fact the only real disappointment in sit down meals was Big Fire. The place looked lovely but it overpriced, cold and meagre in terms of portions. Service very poor... My scallops were cook well though. It just wasn't good. Amazingly, I'd rate it far lower than say Hard Rock, which was exactly as I expected (this is what I imagined was the quality for most) and not much different to my last trip in 2012. The Bao Bun place as a takeaway, also no good.
Edit to say: Sudden flashback to being overwhelmed at entrance once inside Volcano Bay and opening up the Frugal Brit to once more, watch his guide on the place.
I struggled to decide where to put hard rock in the ranking. Never had a bad meal there.
@@TheFrugalBritWe enjoyed it. It was more that we had no real expectations beyond it being a large chain with extremely high customer turnover. I will say, our server was amazing. She started there not long after they opened and was a consummate professional. Possibly the best we encountered in the whole three weeks in Orlando. Friendly, knew how to handle our three fussy kids and just completely on the ball. Also brutally honest “don’t order that”.
you should do the resort dining next, Strong Water and Mama Della's are some of the best the resort can offer.
Yeah have thought about doing that 👍
Does the Cowfish fish creator work? It hasnt been working for the last couple years when Ive been there.
I’ve never used it I’ll be completely honest 🙈
Maybe because I lived in New Orleans for several years, I have never been impressed by Mythos. In three visits, I found the restaurant loud and overpriced with bland food. But many of the other restaurants on this list are pretty good. GREAT, helpful vid as always!
Thank you for that! Appreciate the insight 👍
We love mythos, toothsome and cowfish!
Likewise 😁
Does anyone know if you can buy 1 or 2 day universal park tickets from the UK or do you need to wait until you arrive in the US?
If you use a vpn you can buy 1 or 2 day tickets in the UK. The value compared to a 14 day ticket is questionable though.
I love the atmosphere of Mythos… but I only like the food. I love the food at Cow Fish (but not the burgushi), and I love the food at Minions Cafe.
The Minions Cafe has great theming
Whilst I do agree with most of your points, I do have two points I'll comment.
1: Thunder Falls Terrace, to me, should've been on the list, easily over some that you've detailed.
2: The one and only time I've ever been to mythos, we got rude staff and food poisioning. Definitly not on my list.
Yeah was difficult leaving out thunder falls terrace
The burgushi (sushi-burger) from The CowFish is something everyone should try at least once 😅
Maybe a noob question here but do you have to add tips on top of these prices?
Imagine not adding panda express to this! The orange chicken is amazing!
Man I’ve been watching this on repeat and I have no hope of going to universal in the near future.
Idk I think Lombards should be higher. The staff is always so kind there and helpful absolute best table service in the park in my opinion.
Yeah it’s quite a polarising restaurant. Server on my last visit was fantastic.
@@TheFrugalBrit it's crazy my wife and I absolutely love mythos but when we went last Month there service was great but the food was not. It was such a bad mess up they gave us free express pass for hagrid's. Which made up for it but Lombards knocked it out of the park. Still absolutely love mythos though lol.
NBC Sports Grill is notably absent. Shareable portions and good food should put it squarely on a frugal list. This should easily replace Red Oven Pizza…
I live about 6 hours From Universal and I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t made a few weekend trips JUST for some of the restaurants on this list.
I'm still surprised they never made a Krusty Krab restaurant at Universal Studios yet..
We ate at the Jamaican restaurant when we last went to Universal. The food was only ok (we love Jamaican food). The music was so loud that we had to yell to our server and each other. We asked if they could turn it down; it was lunchtime, and there were only three groups in the restaurant. Our server told us no because "Jamaicans like loud music". We give it zero out of 10 and definitely would not recommend.
Only go to big fire if you want Malcolm to tip himself an extra $30.00 who knows how many people he got
No Bob Marleys? 😭
🍔🍔🍔🍔
Mythos was your top pick? Wow... I found it a pretty big waste of money. The aesthetic is great, but the food was less than ideal.
Why does this guy sound like he’s yelling but quietly
🤣🤣🤣
Tbh I love your vids keep it up
I didnt like mythos. Freezing cold inside, uninspiring food, expensive. Meh
Quite a few of my friends hate it. Last two visits for me have been great though.
Those are not restaurants by any standard but merely junk food outlets.
This list was so bad it made me sick....
That was not intended
Confisco is AWFUL. Don't waste your time or money.
Why do you talk like an AI? Use correct punctuation and correct use on emphasis in the correct place in your speech, it would make you so much easier to follow and enjoy. But thank you
I don't like AI voices either, but honestly, I don't find The Frugal Brit talks like a computer voice at all. I hear some cultural differences, but nothing artificial.

Sounds like something an American would say to a native of the country that actually created the English language
