  • Fifty years after Sir Jackie Stewart clinched his third and final Formula 1 championship, he was reunited with the Tyrrell 006 that he took to that famous F1 crown. Given a guard of honour by the legendary drivers at the event including Tom Kristensen and Jacky Ickx, Sir Jackie then took the Tyrrell out for a couple of solo laps of the Goodwood circuit.

You never forget to ride a bicycle. It's always great to see a legend driving again. It's easy to forget how small F1 cars used to be when watching today's barges. Sir Jackie is 84!!!!! Some 44 year-olds can't drive around the block without attracting attention to themselves.

A true legend, sir Jackie. No words to describe him. Maybe the best person who has never win F1 WC. He conquered it, and the hearts of most of us.
A privilege see him driving his car today. Even via this media.

What a legend, always did it on his terms, stood up for safety and made changes happen

Stewart, Surtees, Ickx, Depailler, Sheckter, Peterson, Pironi and the list goes on, Tyrrell had some of the best drivers, and to top it off, Ken Tyrrell gave new talent the opportunity to drive. R.I.P to Ken and the rest of the drivers who've passed. Amazing team with amazing history.

What a legend. Three Drivers championships in one of F1's deadliest eras. his campaigns for F1 safety, his charity work for ex-F1 mechanics, his awareness work for dyslexia, his road safety campaign work, his F1 team success with his son, his charity works for dementia, and those are just the extrordinary things I'm aware of.
A truely great human, perhaps the most accomplished of all the F1 champions.

And asking himself why he took the bend in 3rd gear, rather than the 4th gear he was told to take it in by a vastly more experienced professional. A gloriously talented man who wasted his life because he knew better, and welcomed an accident which he did not even need to get close to.

They found vomit in francois‘ helmet after the fatal accident. obviously this was the reason for. He took plenty of painkillers because of his twisted ankles and handwrist.

In what I keep as my best motor sporting memory, I saw Jochen Rindt win a race in Australia in 1969, watching in awe of his mastery of the filthy wet conditions. Little did I suspect that day, that there would be something called CZcams in 2023, and that I would get a bit misty watching these couple of laps by Jackie Stewart, rightly knighted and a true credit to motor sport and humanity.

As a life-long motor racing fan, I am always amazed at the people who react in childish hyperbolic fashion at the site of a Formula 1 car being driven by an obnoxious old man in a dull pedestrian fashion.
The car itself is completely unimpressive (like all F1 cars) until they are driven as F1 cars are supposed to be, which is at full tilt.
Having been to numerous FOS events at Goodwood, I can honestly say I get bored rigid (as do most genuine motorsport fans) at the sight of ultra performance cars being driven slowly. It is a waste of time and clearly satisfies the most easily pleased among the spectators.

The fact that you go to FoS says much about you. And when you've done as much for a world wide sport and saved as many lives as JS did, can still pilot a F1 car at 84 - only THEN do I think your obnoxious opinion can be taken into account.

@@Voski-ld9fh You're so triggered by my comment, you can't even use your own language correctly.
Nobody has ever been persuaded by somebody who writes "I'll wager one of them is glad at home."
The correct version would use '' and '' as in the following example:
"I'll wager one of your written posts or comments lets everybody know a brainlessmoron.'
      welcome for grammar lesson. 😅

It made you seem very authoritative and definitely somebody people should be respectful of.
Of course, I'm being sarcastic. You seem like a silly old reactive fool whose own family is fed up listening to him.
