@@joeince9430🤣🤣🤣
I get your point about the price. However wild-caught salmon is a lot leaner and therefore less tasty. There are a lot of outdated health claims still circulating about farmed salmon, but the industry has massively dialled back the amount of antibiotics and other nasties. And when compared to the much higher amounts of mercury found in wild salmon, farmed salmon is probably healthier on balance. Not to mention more sustainable. So in pretty much every regard you're better off with farmed salmon.
@@SeraphimLeo If you've ever watched a video about salmon farming, you'd never eat it again. Wild caught is so much better tasting, and it has triple the omega-3 of farmed.

Buying the whole rib section at Costco and cutting your own steaks is the way to go. You can sometimes get prime too, you just have to ask the butcher if he has any sections and he will wrap it up. I think I paid about $300 for the last one I got there. But the choice ribeyes and damn near the same because they are so fatty.

Yup....prices are ridiculous....we are going to Portugal instead of Las Vegas...the only thing more expensive is the flight, everything else is way less money. We end up saving money. Vegas has become a complete JOKE
The food will be better in Portugal too. Vegas food is lousy now that illegals with little to no experience are all you find in most kitchens.
Vegas is costly as hell for sure!
Less you are going off-strip, just eating a mid range places is very expensive.
Three of us at most meals my last trip there and, with tip and tax, every meal was basically $200. It got to the point that next time I go I will just stick with fast food and Vegas' Chinatown restaurants.
Even something as simple as some Asian noodles (2 orders) and two drinks (soda) at the hotel's food court area was about $50.
I used to think the resort fees are high and BS but now, I think the food prices are BS. Food costs more than your room and resort fees combined. Cripes, one meal cost as much as one of the round trip airline tickets.

That steak was definitely rare
Ridiculously rare.
When you go to a high end steakhouse the steak temp is always going to be at the lower end of the spectrum. If you say medium rare it’s gonna be just over rare. Pro tip: when they ask you what temp you want it cooked to specifically tell them a number. If you like medium rare but don’t like rare then tell them 135 degrees which is at the upper end of the medium rare spectrum. 2nd pro tip: if you order a ribeye, specifically tell them you want a cut with a nice cap; or you can literally call out a specific rib number (like 4, 5, or 6). I ate at Flemings recently and ordered the $75 dry aged ribeye steak and they brought out an end cut that was all eye and no cap. I told them to take it back because I didn’t want it. For $75 it better be fuc-king perfect. The waiter knew exactly what I was talking about and they eventually brought me out a better cut. Nonetheless, it was still a very disappointing experience

That was rare and red all the way through. No good restaurant I’ve been to serves a medium rare steak like that. Morton’s, Capitol Grill, Fleming’s, Smith & Wollensky, none of them serve a steak that looks like that when ordered medium rare.
@@holdenc3082 Sorry bro, we disagree. BTW, Morton's and CapitAl Grille are hardly what I'd call top notch steakhouses these days. More like over priced and just okay. You do know that CapitAl Grille is now owned by Darden correct? You know the guys who own Olive Garden, as is Ruth's Chris. Morton's. IMO, Morton's hasn't been a great steakhouse since Arnie sold it to that first group of guys out of Philly. They held the quality up for about 2 years and then it faded. I ate there every week for a few decades since the day they opened their first Morton's in the basement on North State Street in Chicago, sometimes twice a week. Last time I went to Morton's a few years ago, I honestly thought to myself, I've had better meals at Texas Roadhouse. The location we went to was gorgeous and the service was top notch, but the food was just okay and very expensive for what it is. True steakhouses like Lugers always cook their steaks to exactly what this one looked like. I've eaten at Lugers three to four hundred times over the years in Brooklyn. (I was in sales and on an expense account, thankfully) That's what their version of medium rare looks like. Let's not glance over the fact that Luger's in NY dry ages their prime beef in house. Properly dry aged prime beef can be eaten at a much lower temps than the wet aged stuff. It's an apples and oranges type of thing. The best way to eat your steak is exactly how you like it cooked. If it's too rare, send it back. DOH!!!
Smith and Wollensky,at least in NY grills theirs the same way brother. You can say whatever you like, and your opinion is just as valid as mine, so we just disagree. No harm, no foul. Cheers
I’ve been to Peter Luger’s in Brooklyn, the best steak I ever had. We went for lunch, ordered a side which the waiter suggested we didn’t need. He was right. I order the sirloin and my friend ordered the filet. Fantastic!
The two of you ordered enough for 4 meals for the normal couple and the woman drank like a fish. For what you ordered you got out cheap.

Free food at the homeless shelter
Cheap food went by the wayside when Vegas expanded to attractions beyond gambling and high end shows. Once they started marketing to families and developing different entertainment options for non-gamblers, the average tourist was no longer losing enough in the casinos to justify the $1 buffets and $2 steak dinners.
@@327ErichWhat attractions are tourists seeing when they stay on the strip?
Cheap for the most part was lost when they switched to faux luxury. There are lots of casinos closer to everyone in states, but now that offer high end restaurants, designer shopping, and spas. And, as such it also attracts foreign visitors.
Ellis island is still there and serving reasonably priced food. As is the Coronado Cafe.

IMHO, the steak and salmon prices are reasonable, but the portions should be a bit larger. The could easily do a 140z steak for that price. Using Capital Grill as a comparison, a 18oz strip is $64 in LV and a 14oz dry aged strip is $60. Maybe there is something that sets Peter Luger above Capital Grill, but Capital Grill is certainly a respected brand. In any event, I suspect the average diner (that doesn't eat $300 per person meals weekly) is not likely to detect any noticeable difference.
The sides seem very reasonable to me. I'm not familiar with that wine, so maybe. Even the desert is reasonable. But the bacon and cocktail are just stupid.

You will be very dissapointed with what has happened with Vegas. I go to Laughlin now...Vegas is excessively expensive and not the town it once was. Half your money is drained just checking into your hotel.
I usually go to Andiano at the D when I'm in Vegas. Great service and steak for a good value. I feel more appreciated by the staff downtown at the nicer places than anywhere on the strip.
Detroit Coney Island 🌭🌭in the D is also amazing!
So the argument is always "Restaurants in the US need tipping to keep prices down" and here we have a restaurant were prices absolutely aren't "down" and yet they hit you with recommended tips at the bottom? GTFO, I pay $300 for a meal for 2 people, I'm already paying for my wait staff to be paid well, that's on the owner being a greedy F.
Peter Luger’s NY is the Bomb don’t know about the Vegas Location but in NYC it’s worth every penny.
The real question: How much did you have to pay
that man to sit with you?
Thank you! Nice honest reviews aren't as easy to find as one would think.
That woman is obnoxious!
I kinda liked the chubby gourmand
Ditto
The Karen haircut is a dead giveaway.
😊😊😊on the other hand the Peter Lungers cheese burger with fries served only at lunch for around $35.00 is worth it considering how high fast food burgers are.
Thanks for taking us along for a double date. Of course it's not worth the money. Nobody eats that expensive a meal for the food. They eat it to impress others. It's peer pressure and ego at its finest. Y'all just move to the south. We can do potatoes! lol
I go to eat the food, if it disappoints won’t go back if it impresses I’ll be glad to share my story
@@henrygonzalez3842 Im just sayin.. we can cook in the south. It's why we all have diabetes.
