These athletes seem to forget that ANY person competing at the elite level has a shelf life, whether its age or injury not many are competing at the top level by their mid 30's (usually earlier for many contact sports) and when it's all over the fall into a depression because the attention is gone, their "importance" is gone and for a lot of them so is the money they earned because they forgot their humble beginnings and blew everything they got on stupid shit.
