I was curious if it would make more sense to just get new lower arms that move the tire forward? that kit that you cut everything off looks like a ton of work. Just curious?
True, custom arms can shift your wheel forward, but you don't have any adjustability, and more importantly in this case, you won't get the beefy mounting points the JD kit provides. The combination of these two is what makes the JD kit the optimal choice for the portals.
We love our solid axle swaps and do them all the time, but portals have their own set of benefits. One of the main ones being maximum ground clearance.

@@Baebon6259 I never said start with a pro, that would be silly if changing the suspension. An Off-Road or ORP would have been better because you're getting a rear locker and A-Trac (essentially a front traction device..ish).

Lots of stress on independent suspension with portals. Imagine a panic stop, it will create a lot of leverage on the control arms.

It’s about 4 inches of lift for the portals. This kit should work on a GX
I’ve heard it takes 100 hours for this “weld in plate”’ from a shop that recently did one. Huge expense.

23 sequoia need portals so we can run 40s. our 37 are not big enough
wanna be first with portals and not go with 40's lol!
and a re-gear those 37 are gonna put a lot of stress on drive lines
The portals provide a 22% gear reduction to help turn them dirty sevens

why not? They saved on the "TRD PRO" and went with SR5 to actually make it outdo the "PRO"
