Yeah man. You ever heard of 49 state models of vehicles? They literally make California specific models for emissions and then they make a 49 state model for sale in the other 49 states. They can’t just “not allow” those vehicles to drive in their state. No matter what they say, they can’t do that legally.

I live in CA, and I agree. Know your rights. The police officer didn’t have the right to pull you over and demand your ID. You weren’t breaking any traffic laws. The part about the judge ordering you to get state refed also makes zero sense if you don’t live in the state. Your car is not registered in CA, so you should not be required to get state refed in order to have it registered.
The 10 days period IS actually a thing. There are forms at the DMV that have that stated on them.
The US Constitution states rights to own private property and right to modify property. You technically do not have to have a driver’s license as long as you are not transporting people or goods in the act of commerce. The public roads were supposed to be for the public to travel on. Just tell the cop you are traveling and not driving in your personal property. Never admit to driving anywhere or anything. By doing so, you’re self incriminating yourself. 90% of tickets written at traffic stops are self incriminating.

I think just don’t push it don’t make your car straight pipe don’t do burnouts. If they want to open your hood just say no, they will scare you that they will tow it but they need a warrant to inspect the car and always film the interaction..

So... I have a stock 49 state emissions law that doesn't meet California laws - so to drive in California I have to "Update" my car? Yeah, they need to understand what Federal Preemption is. If there's a Federal Law that conflicts with a State one, the Federal one preempts and takes precedence. You are within Federal law because they cover interstate commerce. Now, you have to fight that and it cost money so... Your mileage may vary.
Now, if you live in CA - i.e. you spend 181 or more days there, you have to "move" there and get your license and plates in CA. I don't know about military but for everyone else you are playing a dangerous game because they want the state tax. If they find you they will hunt you. I know a few people who legitimately left and CA has harassed them over state tax. Also, If you pay the state tax and try and claim out of state license and registration they will destroy that in court and probably add more charges.
California is a beautiful state and I'm fortunate I was able to see a lot of it from north to south. However, the government is full of lunatics. Sadly the answer is simply to leave. 1980's and 90's LA and San Diego was amazing though. Spent a lot of time there to the mid 2000's. Even spent time in San Fran and Oakland in the 80's. I miss that time and place, but it's been destroyed by the lunatics in government there.
As for the blow off valve, I've seen people make a muffler as well as route them to an airbox on the inlet side of the turbo. The airbox also helps cut noise down.

He didn't because he isn't actually putting out the correct information.
24001 Cali Vehicle Code (CVC) states that Division 12 of the CVC (equipment violation division) "applies to all vehicles whether publicly or privately owned when upon the highways".
This means regardless if your car comes from Texas, New York, or Mexico... your car has to comply with all of California's equipment laws. Including tint.
Also, being in the military isn't an exemption. So this Navy sailor making these videos, is not only violating the Federal Clean Air Act that applies to all service members, he is also violating all base and port orders by the a Commanding General / Admiral.

I knew a few from Florida that went to California & they not do anything about their exhaust as they were driving their classic 1986 Camaro IROC-Z modified as Florida has no emissions & inspections. If your vehicle is 25 years & older it's exempted from emissions as its federal. Why would you want to live in California? as it's a tax hell hole there & things way overpriced. They did however got pulled over in the San Francisco area & got 2 tickets for one for speeding & other for out of state license & registration. They told them I am not a resident here & went to court to fight it. They did rent a apartment but you not have to claim it as a residence. They got charged for speeding $450 + court fees & lucky the points did not go on their record in Florida. You can own a vehicle in multiple states & have license to home state. Hope this info helps you folks out. -Cheers!

It's revenue generation. That's all it is. They can't make you comply with California law when you leave. They can't make you comply with California law when you don't live in the state, but they can write you a ticket and the majority of the people will just pay that ticket. That's revenue generation. It's a a law specifically written in a way to generate revenue has nothing to do with emissions. It has nothing to do with noise. Pollution has nothing to do with any of that stuff because it doesn't stop it if it stopped it. They wouldn't be making any money on it and they wouldn't have police officers out there writing tickets on it so it's all for revenue generation. And I'm sorry you got caught up but I am glad that you had a fairly favorable outcome. I haven't been to California since I was 15 years old. I will never go back to California. I could care less about that state. That state could fall off into the ocean and I would not even give a care. I wouldn't warn for it. Will that state threatened to leave the US I waved by? See you later. Have fun by yourself. I hated being in that state and I told my parents about it and we never went back I stated in your other video this is not a problem that has just started up. This is a problem that's been going on for a couple of decades. My ex's Aunt went to California in a minivan. They got a warning ticket with a list of things they had to fix. They packed up and left that day. They were going to be there for a couple of weeks because of some something they had to do with her mom. I think she'd been in the hospital or something but I don't remember. They packed up and left and never went back to California. The Auto industry has to make cars that are California compliant and then cars that are the rest of the country compliant there is nothing that is worth a flip in California. Why people want to go there. I have no idea. I can't see it other than good weather that California state sucks in every way imaginable. We were there for 2 weeks and I hated every freaking minute of it you go to California. You go at your own peril not even a risk. Get your own peril
