- This is a video about Hannah and Zach from the show 13 reasons why. Their relationship was revealed in season 2 and honestly it should have been more of a big deal, I think they were perfect for each other and they would have made such and interesting and good couple. I wish we got to see more from them, but atleast we got to see a relationship at all. Most people ship Clay and Hannah but I think Zach understood Hannah more than Clay did. Clay was in love with the idea of Hannah but Zach saw Hannah for who she was and they both felt lonely, and found comfort in each other. I think it’s really sweet.

I honestly think that Hannah created that tape to throw everyone off. She didnt want Zach Dempsey's story to be leaked but she also wanted to leave one last goodbye to him. But unfortunately, it collides with the Clay storyline. But I honestly think Zach and Hannah are cuter than Clay and Hannah.
Clay and Hannah aren’t realistic, that’s all. They’re that typical shy nerd guy hanging out with the most beautiful girl in town. It rarely happens in real life (I think).

@@wraith2939 I actually found them very realistic and relatable. In my experience that's actually quite commen, for the shy nerdy kid to be hanging out with the beautiful girl. Maybe I just felt that way about Hannah and Clay cause I was exactly like that when I was a kid.

Zach was afraid and coward to accept it in front of his friends....so While breaking up Zach told Hannah it will be better to not tell anyone about their relationship and Hannah selflessly gave company to Zach after his dad death so if such thing Hannah would've mentioned it on tapes then in general friendship spirit would've been in bad light
A major plot hole in the series. Why the tape if Hannah had forgiven Zach and had so much fun thereafter? Zach is supposed to be more close to Hannah as they shared bed and did stuffs for months. This should have come up in season 1. Their relationship doesn't fits the plot.

Yeah it’s very annoying how it doesn’t fit in. They only added it in season 2, I think I read that they wanted to give Hannah a positive relationship because all the other ones were bad and Zach was the only boy who hadn’t been bad to her so he was the only one it could be. And that’s why it doesn’t fit in properly.

Agree. I think their relationship diminish the story and the narrative, but as an alternate could have worked. The problem is that it destroys Clay relationship and overall tragedy of the story, but they look amazing on camera. Still to me only season 1 is canon.
Even clay brought up this plot hole in a later scene.
To me, the endgames should’ve been:
Hannah x Zach
Clay x Sheri
Justin x Jessica
Hannah and Clay are surreal together. But I like the idea of Sheri with Clay. They fit much more together than the other lady in later seasons that I don’t even remember the name of.

Hannah loved Clay but he never said anything. That wasn’t entirely his fault either. He was too shy to say anything. And I also felt that just like Zach, Clay too didn’t really want to be associated with “the girl with a reputation”. Also, if he had been home that summer, they may have had the opportunity to grow closer.
@@Nikita-qb7xd Clay didn’t care about other people’s opinion about him,so it wasn’t a bother. Hannah just thought he does,because of her mental state and her perception of Clay was so perfect she didn’t think herself being worthy of him.

It’s not that he was ashamed of her but neither of them wanted it to come out as they’d both get made fun of because of it. Hannah wouldn’t cope at school with more reasons for people to make fun of her.

I think that both of clay and zach deserved her. But both were cowards. Zach was scared that his friends will think about him when they'll know what he involves with hannah. So clay was scared what if he'll tell her about his feelings she will don't talk with him anymore. Both of them lost her. One for fear of being rejected. The second is due to fear of the reaction of his friends

Zack was a good guy. Hannah ruined it with her low self esteem. Zach wasn't mature enough to see the signs and know what to do to rectify the situation. Peer pressure got the better of him. But i honestly think Zack would have been a better match for her than even Clay.

I am almost getting a cancer while binge watching this show. I am at S2E6. How come even Zach couldnt prouldly go out with her "at school"!! I mean why it had to be only during the summer break.
He was ashamed of her. Some people r saying that he was protecting her but if he really was then he wouldn't care what people say. They were talking about her regardless so I don't see how keeping her a secret was helping.
@@dafinacullens9040 it was to protect Hannah and himself, slight shame but more he didn’t want her to keep being associated with his friends, she had the reputation from Justin, and Alex where he could’ve been ashamed. But in the end, his character was the misunderstood jock, and he knows Bryce at the time and Justin and Marcus and etc. so either way he didn’t trust them to behave around her as evidenced in the theater. As a teen, especially when your mother is against you and a relationship, he made what he believed was the best decision.
So his friends make fun of her, insult her and one of his best friends even rapes her, but he still chills at his house and defends him? They should've ended the series after season 1 and maybe add a movie showing hannahs trial, clay saying his final goodbye, bryce and justin going to juvie and tyler shooting the school up.

I as a girl can't tolerate a relationship when I don't like the guy and for Hannas case it was more like Clay was the nice guy that's why she got closer to him but with Zach, she was attracted to him so it was the best story line if they only developed their characters together
Boys: anger from on this storyline comes from belief that q girl's value is tied to body count and they view "nice guys" like themselves as being entitled to physical intimacy from the people they are sticking nice coins in. E.G Zach "the Chad" was getting something CLAY "deserved".
Girls: liked it because they saw another side to Zach beyond jock. He was shy and vulnerable around Hannah and the two genuinely liked each other as people. But Zach's ultimate character flaw is similar to Clay in that both characters are awful about clearly expressing themselves...only Zach is more cowardly about standing up to other people than Clay but on the other hand he is far less judgmental than Clay.
