  • This is a full tour and review of Rhino, my 2006 Toyota Fortuner 2.5G diesel.
The Fortuner is a midsize SUV sold in Asia and South America. Here in the Philippines it retails for around 32-42k USD or about 1.6-2.1 million pesos. It's the best selling SUV in the Philippines, followed closely by the Mitsubishi Montero.

Hi. Great to see that you're also a Fortuner Gen 1 (type 1 to 3)fanatic. Although Ive been a car dealer for 30yrs (since late 80s), its always been my dream car since it first came out and so have kept mine since I got my first one. I will upgrade the look to look like the Type 2, although they are the same car basically. Although I now prefer the petrol version, which as per my experience, is much more reliable and cheaper to maintain in the long run. Havent had any problems since 2006, unlike my other diesel fed suvs. Have had many of different brands, including Toyota and I can safely say, quite a few can break down. One time I had to spend nearly 100k, to get things back to stock working condition (toyota suv prior to the fortuner, yes related). Believe me, gas is much cheaper to maintain. Anyways, great job and have fun with your (our) DREAM car! 😍😄👍

Still fresh looking parin ang unit nyo sir.. mine is a 2010 4x2 diesel and personally i still prefer these models kahit luma na.. mas matibay and the engine is more tested for years.. don't care kahit very simple compared to new ones... fortuner din naman yan

I have been looking for this review 2005/2006 model were I think just the same. Not so much of a difference..
God willing. . I will just preserve our 2006 Fortuner having 71k mileage..
    More power!

Boss, kumusta ang gear shifting ni Rhino? Sensitive and responsive ba sa road conditions?
    Example..
Need mo ng lower gear kasi paahon. . Nakakarespond ba timely ang transmission pra hnd ka mabitin?

all of the major japanese SUVs are easy to maintain. But when it comes to availability of parts, Toyota is still the best

We had an Isuzu Crosswind before and it's an absolute tank. We live in a flood prone area and that car was regularly subjected to shin high flood water and mud for years on end and never broke.

  • @arturodelacruzrapadas2771

Sir can you compare the old Montero and fortuner to the latest generation
