Pretty much my feelings exactly. What is Disney even doing? These are some of the best shows they've ever put up and they are ending so soon. It makes me so confused why they would do that. Gravity Falls is understandable that it would end where it did, the creator itself said it was always planned to end there, but the creators of the other shows wanted to go on. It feels like Dana Terrace had to struggle just to get The Owl House the "weird final season".
On another note, Disney is finally promoting The Legend of the Three Caballeros, for those who never even knew it existed, it's definitely worth taking a look.
It all comes down to money and viewership, along with COVID-19. First, their viewership numbers were never going to be enough, second COVID-19 just made things worse.
Also said that most of the great shows are ending. Owl house is amazing, but is way too fast. Wish Dana had more time to explore the word and characters.
Ps. Craig of the Creek is good show to watch if you’re interested. It’s similar to CKND. It’s severely slept on

It comes down in a lot of ways to different work environment cause COVID and also money which isn’t the best motivator and they are a company and can definitely make better decisions
Disney loves it’s formulas, and yet the creator of Owl House revealed that it’s being canceled because some executive thought it didn’t fit Disney’s “brand”. There was no elaboration and no specific details on what exactly the issue was. I hate this kind of corporate nonsense. They don’t even have the decency to explain their decision.
It truly does piss me off that these giant brands don't feel the need to explain themselves, as if they are somehow above the creators of these shows
She said already that the better episodes were in the better half of the series. She also knew already that Disney would shut down the show after 3 seasons. She also said that she wants to upload more the series somewhere not on Disney Channel. She explained in early interviews before Disney bought the show from her exactly why the show would stop after 3 seasons. She already fully finished the show already and was really annoyed at Disney Channel for not buying it from her yet with her even saying so in one of the interviews. They did infact all occur with me finding almost all of them I believe.
Actually it got canccled because the show is LGBT and the Disney "Brand" doesnt support

While I like Amphibia more than the Owl House, I still really loved the show, and was heartbroken when I heard it was getting cancelled. Now they have to resolve the entire overarching plot within 10 episodes and I hate that. I just hope that the ending is good for what they’ve had to deal with
I can’t agree more. There’s still so much left to be unearthed in the owl house(Phillip, belos/hunter’s backstory, more lumity development, something about the titan etc) not to mention the finale. I’m really worried on whether they would be able to fit all of that in just 11 episodes

I was furious when I learnt the details on Owl House's stopping. Dana Terrace created an absolute masterpiece with this, and it's clear that she had planned a lot more than 2 seasons and 3 specials. I wish with all my heart for Disney to backtrack the cancelling, but I doubt it.

Ducktales is one of the best series that I've ever watched, hands down. It hurts to see how poorly it did popularity wise, ESPECIALLY since it's a rarely seen reboot done right, you'd think people would praise it for that seeing how most reboots absolutely ruin what their shows used to be
Owl House deserved this least of all. The others had time to finish their stories by design. Owl House has SO much *potential* left, seeing less of the characters and world is tantamount to a criminal act.
And that's its downfall. To much is going on at the same time
Ducktales did not. More stuff was planned but the showrunners were already feeling Disney wouldn't let them go past S3, so they had to make up an "ending"

@@yogirlsky1251 that's unfortunately what normally happens with shows that try to represent underrepresented demographics, they don't usually last very long due the demographics in question usually representing such a small portion of that companies viewership base.
At least Amphibia is probably going to end how the creators wanted it to be.
Same can't be said for The Owl House. Man, that just hurts.
Well Amphibia is the better show anyway, because it has frogs, newts, salamanders, and toads, and Disney is no stranger to Amphibians, so lets just enjoy the last of the Owl House, and move on.

TOH has so much potential with its loveable characters and story telling that can appeal any kind of audience, just a heart warming series that shows good lgbt representation!

If you can find the really early interview with her explaining why Disney would not sponsor the show after 3 seasons, that it where you are going to find it. I even thought about saving it somewhere to use for a comment later, perfectly expecting what you just said would be mentioned later on.
So unfortunately, Amphibia is indeed nearing its end. Matt Braly has gone on record saying he only had three seasons planned, but at least it won’t be cut short

The thing is Amphibia is made to have 3 seasons but The Owl House needs more seasons to tell its full story so it’s really sad that it’s not getting a season 3
Last year when I saw trailers about The Owl house I was curious. This summer I watched it and I loved it. I didn't know though this will be the end of the show. Sadly...
If it had a chance the show may have passed Gravity falls.
Now we can only have hope that something will happen to get more from "The owl house".
The thing with Ducktales specifically is that I feel they clearly had a setup for each sibling to have their season. The first season was Dewey's, the second season was Louie's and the third season was Webby's. It just feels like we were robbed of a Huey season, not to mention that the ending itself was pretty rushed, like I was legitimately confused that it was the last episode of the show I was watching when I realized how long the run-time was.
I feel like the fourth season was meant to be a Webby season, but they were cancelled so they merged the best of the Huey and Webby seasons, cus the writers and directors shared all the different ideas they had for episodes but were limited by the show’s end
Im pretty sure i heard the creators say in some interview that season 1 was dewey’s, season 2 was louie’s, and season 3 was huey’s, with webby’s “season” kind of taking place across the entire series. From the beginning of season 3 it came off to me as them wrapping up character arcs and stuff, so I think they intended on making the show last 3 seasons.
@@pewdiepiesubbot8672 Interesting, to me, it didn't feel like Huey had that much development in season 3. I feel like his arc should have been figuring out the Finch book and coming into his own as being a leader instead of just someone who helps. I felt like the focus was significantly more on Webby but that could just be me. I get the point of the whole show being Webby's as even I found she was the heart of the show, coming into her own, being her own person outside of just a part of the McDuck mansion and getting the love and attention she deserves.

It didnt seem to me like he was having much of an arc, but i think it becomes much clearer after the season finale. His arc seems to be about accepting uncertainty, which makes sense looking back at what kinds of challenges he faces. In the season 3 premiere his perception of himself as the best woodchuck is challenged, in the impossibin episode he keeps getting ambushed by webby, and in the series finale he spends a lot of time wondering why exactly fowl did what they did. Also im pretty sure bradford, who aims at eliminating adventures and unpredictability, serves as a parallel to huey.
Also if you want to check out that interview i mentioned in the first comment, its some entertainment weekly series finale cast read. They answer some questions about the show in the last quarter or so. I think they specifically discuss the designated seasons for each triplet around the 36 minute mark

Infinity Train genuinely one of the best shows to ever happen, showing both kids and adults real life lessons like acceptance, understanding, identity, toxic friendship, the dangers of narcissism, and how you need to find a balance between speeding thru life and having it go by.
If you haven't seen it, all four seasons are on HBO Max and can all be watched within a day or two using the free trial. I highly recommend it.

It’s understandably sad for The Owl House to maybe wrap up after the end of season 2 but just look at how incredibly Gravity Falls concluded after 40 episodes. If the second half of season 2 of TOH continues it commitment to filler-free, lazar-focused, plot driven storytelling then we might just get something as spectacular as Weirdmageddon.
I think the difference there is that Gravity falls was *intended* to close off within that timeframe. TOH pretty clearly was not, the only reason it got cancelled was the lGBTQ rep being disliked in some countries

I definitely relate to the feeling that all of those shows feel new. They ending too fast. Like they all good so they would have good finales like Gravity Falls and unlike other shows... But it really ends too soon. Those worlds still have massive potential. It even possible to end one conflict and plot and dive deeper for another ones or just more exploration.
They also won't be able to explore to much new things because they need to focus on the points they already have and the plot...

Definitely a new network though. Actually, where are any good networks? CN isn't very good at scheduling and promoting their shows, nickelodeon won't even air new shows, disney is, imo, the worst network to host a show on. Really the top 3 aren't that good.
I really wish there was a new network made specifically for young adults. That would be awesome and allow so much freedom in writing.

As sad as it is that these series are over or ending, Im glad that the creators are focusing on telling a complete story rather then stretching it out until it's no longer recognizable. All good beginnings have to have an ending. But I do feel like owl house is ending too soon. Just feels like there is so much potential there for this world to continue to grow and produce good stories. Still, hopefully the specials will end strongly.

For those wondering... when Amphibia has that warning sign about “intense scenes,” it didn’t necessarily mean any gore. The episode did have violence and Marcy did get stabbed, but there was a lot of strong and powerful emotional moments in the episode that some people might not be able to handle alone.

At first, I was happy that Owl House was ending with the 3rd season. And then I heard it was only 3 double-length episodes. At this point and time, unless they can REALLY give me something massive to have me sleepless for a week, Amphibia is probably my standout story-driven show. Not saying that Owl House is bad, in fact, it's one of my all-time favourites, I'm just not so sure if I'm ready to be stunned so soon.

Since I love getting to the point and dislike fillers (which is mostly why I didn't watch most of Amphibia and other shows) The Owl House is still my favourite kids show and I'm sad to see it go so soon 😢
The Owl House (Season 2/Last Season 1 episodes) is something that literally STUNS you every episode and leaves you awake at bed almost the whole night
Same. However, the show's been so strong these past few episodes that if the writers just keep up the quality from now until its end, I think the show will be incredibly fondly remembered with time, closer to a Gravity Falls than a Star Vs, Voltron or RWBY where their length expanding out hadn't benefitted their quality.

Matt Braly did confirm he viewed Amphibia as a story in 3 parts, so season 3 is most definitely the last season Foafy… which is why a recap video for seasons 1 & 2 like you did for season 1 of the Owl House would be really fun… plus I think your “animated” rendition of the True Colors “scene” reaction would be worth a whole video.
I am normally not too emotionally bonded to shows but Owl House makes me feel so many emotions. I find it stupid that any of these shows are being cancelled but Owl House ending is probably gonna make me cry. It’s a great show and I love it and for it to be ripped away makes me so sad
I feel like at this point, show runners need to start avoiding pitching their shows to disney to make a point to the corporation. It's pretty obvious that Disney's current head is only allowing three seasons of these shows and is cancelling them at their peak on purpose- which has been really damaging to the shows creators that worked so hard to get their show greenlit.

If you payed close attention to the animation of amphibia you could see that Anne has partially gotten power boosts throughout the show even back in like first episode. Her pupils turn blue that’s how you know.
I say one show that feels like it carries a similar torch to Gravity Falls with a few other shows thrown in the mix is Craig of the Creek. I made a video about it a while back, but it has a good story, great music, and charming characters. The story isn't always the focal point of the show, but when it builds to the 5 part season 3 finale event the story will keep you engaged. I binge watched the first 3 seasons, and it's fantastic. Seriously, don't sleep on it like it. If you like Gravity Falls, Ed Edd n Eddy, Recess and Codename Kids Next Door, Craig of the Creek is the show for you.

Whenever a creator gets a green light for a Disney show, they should not expect a very long epic to continue on like other channels like CN. Most shows seems to have a expected time frame in which is probably two seasons. If you look at shows that aren't affiliated with another part of Disney (I.e. a movie or Star Wars/Marvel), you should be lucky to have even a third season (or fourth like Star vs.). If they plan to make bigger and/or shows, they need to find another channel to do so(not like Disney isn't the only place, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and a bunch of other places you can get it greenlight.). Creators should plan to have two to three season lifespan and if they get approved consider just ending it if the series fits it. Gravity Falls seems to do that, even if most fans would've love another season, I think it's that it ended. It was great and short. Creators should just work with that and go from there.
I learned about the owl house recently and I literally binged it in 2 days. After the season 2 finally I felt like the show was still developing and I was absolutely distraught when I learned that Disney gave it the boot for “not fitting the brand”. For the longest time I’ve been looking for a show to please that certain itch in my brain, and now that I have it I feel as if I need to fight to prevent losing it. The fate of the show is a true tragedy.

I hope these shows never die. I'd pay 100 bucks to buy this in the future and make my future kid watch these. Long live the owl house, amphibia, and ducktales.

well, I think amphibia has a lot of stuff they can do seeing as they have a new setting new main villain and new big mysteries to unravel, but yeah they're going to cancel it after season 3 because disney can't let us have nice things. on a more positive note, the ghost and Molly Magee had a good first episode, a lot of these show's fans are looking into that, so it has a lot of hype behind it.

Regarding DuckTales, I'm late to the DuckTales train, binge watching the show with my sisters rn (we're only just done with season 2). We are three siblings so it's fun seeing ourselves in Huey, Dewey, and Louie. To those who haven't seen it yet, it's really good! It's not GF, but it's its own thing. The animation is great, the art style is amazing (imo), the story has clear direction and the characters are relatable and charming. I personally like the fact that its "adventure of the week with a little bit of overarching plot" format, it just suits it better and allows it to do its own thing. The only complaint I have about DT17 (so far) is how the characters reacted to Della, Louie having the only realistic reaction, and nobody seemed to criticize her actions. Also, I was disappointed in the way they treated Donald in the 2nd season. It's a great show, but not without its flaws.
Anyway, I hope ya'll give this show a chance! It really did deserve more attention and I'm sad that I wasn't able to support it when it was still going.

I agree with the Della thing, I wish they all reacted differently, except Louie. Like I feel like Dewey should've had a bigger reaction considering he was the first one to start finding out about Della.
I am sad that we didn't get to see any development with Louie and Della, because they clearly had something in mind in the long run. But the show never got around to that, and I imagine that's because Disney didn't greenlight any more seasons.

Amphibia will always be my all time favorite, so it really hurts to see the amounts of slander it gets when being compared to other shows (especially The Owl House) or just by itself. Don’t get me wrong, I love both shows and I’m really hyped for both of them, but amphibia really deserves better.
It saddens me to know The Owl House is being canceled it is my favorite show of all time. I didn’t care for gravity falls too much because it felt confusing to follow, but Owl House feels like a teen version of Rick and Morty with having everything building up. I get it these shows don’t usually last as long as family guy, the simpsons, and Rick and Morty, but if these shows are given time to do what their goal is they could be like Steven Universe which is my second favorite show. Steven Universe is a lot like The Owl House you’ve got a kid/teen learning about themselves and their powers or in Luz’s case learning new ways to use spells, Steven Universe had time to finish and it’s fandom is huge I know The Owl house’s fandom is smaller but that’s how I discovered it. The first time I ever heard about The Owl House was here on CZcams, and it was before Lumidy was cannon and this is what sparked interest was lgbtq+ia (the acronym is getting so long I can’t keep up) as someone apart of the community myself and still questioning my sexuality as well as love it was perfect. The House made me squee in ship because of Lumidy and I love it when shows do this.

tbh i watched owl house back then 2021 july, but then in 2021 august the show just left us on a pretty high cliff hanger, in 2022 march it came back but in the period of waiting i lost my patience and watched miraculous, it filled my time with joy and now even if i watch the new eps i dont feel the excitement there used to be flowing in my blood, i also watched amphibia 1 week before they air the same day, now im addicted to it because of the excitement, joy and mystery feelings it gave back when owl house did
These have been my favorite shows of all time. Disney and it's creatives know how to create stories and immerse you in worlds of characters no matter how strange or childish the premise seems to be. There's always a rooted sense of maturity that make them available for all ages. Now that these three genius-ly written shows are coming to an end, I am excited to see what Disney has in store. With Ghost and Molly McGee starting off SO strong, and both "Primos" and "Hamster and Gretel" being in early development, the sky is the limit. My only hope is to be a part of these creative teams some day. That....and getting some merchandise cuz god if anything deserves Funko pops????? These three shows do

I love the Owl House. The best way to describe it is Realistic Fantasy. It takes elements from fantasy and twists them so that they aren't all that pleasant to imagine anymore. It's a shame that it isn't getting a proper 3rd season to finish it out but it is definitely a show I would put up on the mantelpiece alongside Gravity Falls based on story alone.

I agree but the whole lesbian couple thing made it akward for me to watch the show. It was tons of hype and plot om- lesbian couple.... It was hinted but it didn't sit right with me and I was completely uninterested with their relatationship and I feel it also took a little away from the show. I also know that it's a big plot point with them being together but they could just be friends. I as well know that some people feel the exact opposite but this is my opinion.

I think part of this has to do with where the money comes from, namely getting people to sign on to Disney+. A hot exciting series with lots of buzz will do that for Disney, whether it's one season or a dozen seasons. The fewer the episodes, the less the cost. It's not like DVD sales or advertisements are driving the series. I've heard complaints about Netflix only licensing the first few seasons of some series, and I presume it's the same reason. Still, it would have been better to tell the creators in advance to "Plan out your series to last (x) number of episodes."

The saddest thing about Ducktales ending is that we never got a Ducktales Remastered style game, based around the setting of the new one. I saw some April Fool’s mock-up for one a couple years back, and it just fit so well. Sucks that it never actually happened

I’ve been a fan of amphibia since the first episode premiered and seeing the show slowly develop into this masterpiece that everyone loves is truly amazing. No other show will be able to fill the hole in my heart that amphibia will leave once it ends but I'm glad that Matt got to finish the story. Amphibia is definitely one of my top 3 favorite cartoons ever!

I feel obligated to get this message across since the majority of The Owl House fandom, including myself, kinda have this consensus regarding the show’s cancellation at this point. With the amount of LGBTQ representation within the show, Disney’s just pretty homophobic to accept it, which is appalling considering I know a few people in LGBTQ community who would adore this show but would end up disappointed when wondering why it concluded so quickly. Obviously, this can’t be easily confirmed as Disney doesn’t explicitly admit this, but there’s no denying how obvious they’ve been as actions speak louder than words. What makes this more disgusting is that they pretended to care twice. One of them occurred more recently when they posted the scene Luz and Amity asking each other out and initially had it titled LUZITY until changing it hours later! Not Lumity - LUZITY (this could not have been an accidental typo)! The second occurred during the very beginning of Pride Month this year, where Disney tweeted a picture of the Mickey Mouse characters in front of rainbow of colors (including transgender flag colors) stating, “There’s room for everyone under the rainbow. 🌈 Happy #PrideMonth!” Alex Hirsch, Gravity Falls creator, called them out for their hypocrisy stating that they cut out a scene from a Gravity Falls episode that would display two women falling for each other (I think it would’ve been in “Love God”), and if people don’t think he has the right to call them out because he lacks a high amount of LGBTQ representation in his show unlike Noelle Stevenson for She-Ra or Rebecca Sugar for Steven Universe as two examples, the fact he supports it enough to showcase at least one LGBTQ couple - Deputy Durland and Sheriff Blubs (and what would’ve been at least two if the women made it in the final cut) should tell you a lot - he cares, and that will always be one of his best qualities (outside of making one of the best cartoons of all time) that makes me appreciate him even more. I love The Owl House and Dana Terrace has accomplished so much with it, and she’s practically being forced to throw it away when she wanted to continue with an awesomely-thought-out story. If they can’t air the episodes in other countries because of the LGBTQ content, how detrimental is it? This is a multi-billionaire corporation that occasionally gets fined many lawsuits to the point where it hardly makes a dent in their profit, a dent so small that they end up pretending it never happened. I know this was probably a long read, but I really wanted to vent out my frustration on behalf of myself and all other supporters of the show. I love DuckTales and Amphibia just as much, and while they’ve encountered obstacles regarding their respective runtime, The Owl House just is suffering a prominent obstacle that definitely astonished people. FootofaFerret, if you’re reading this, you’re definitely not alone. I miss DuckTales and will miss Amphibia and The Owl House when they end, and as much as I love the quality of the content Disney shows, I’m more than willing to state their shortcomings.
My love for Disney dwindles day by day the more I realise how much they hate people like myself.

I'm so upset that no one talks about this show anymore. It's an amazing show and season 3 would have been AMAZING. Disney seriously does not know what the hell they are doing.
As someone who watched owl house, amphibia and duck tales from the first day I am extremely disappointed with Disney and shall be relying on fanfic writers to make the shows feel complete.
Unfortunately television works in ways that are out of the general public control, like the funding actually needed for each individual episode to allow them to actually get aired on television among the more obvious one of the studio head saying no to the next season becuase of racial issues. Actually Donna Terrance even already admitted that wants and wanted end the CEO's life directly, and she could do it even way back then; but she does not want to find out what would happen to her career if she actually went and followed through with it as well. She even admitted it in one of the really early interviews that she conducted before the show was purchased by Disney.
She had even already partially prepared her own statement regarding the then current matter at hand of regarding the current show situation already as well, I believe when I was more interested in digging up more information related to the issue as well.

At first when I heard that Owl House was only getting two full seasons, I was worried. But after remembering that Gravity falls managed to tell its amazing story in the same amount of time, it too away a lot the the sting for me, if not the sadness

The difference being that gravity falls was always intended to be short, TOH was canceled by Disney executives against the will of the creator
I remember the old duck tales as a child and it was my jam. That and talespin. I didn't see the reboot but I kinda get an idea as to why it doesn't add up, cause folks who grew up with older animation style wouldn't bother unless it has a great story. Now that's just my personal observation. Owl house is my favorite and the 2nd actual cartoon i saw after many years (I feel old for being 27) and I miss watching good cartoon after so much anime and death and gore stuff. It was refreshing .
I am really upset and sad about the owl house situation. It is a first show for a long time, which I REALLY enjoyed. I attached to characters and got into the story, so information about shorter season 3 destroyed me emotionally. I just can't take the fact that so good show, with so big potential is shorter only because of ,,not fitting into Disney". But the worst thing is the fact that it destroyed Dana's dreams and years of hard work. The owl house, is her first, own series.

The Owl House was a awesome Disney Channel show. I love the magic, the animation and the characters. I'm going to miss seeing the Boiling Isles. I wish there was more episodes cause I want to know what's going to happen to the characters. I don't want this show to end but sadly it is ending. It'll be missed. I love The Owl House. :(

The Owl House deserve some recognition and a proper ending than being on Disney Channel. Move this show to Disney+ original exclusive only. Or pick up the full rights to CN or HBO Max, Nick or Paramount+, Peacock, Hulu, Netflix, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, IMDb TV, Tubi, or The Roku Channel.

@@timsheppard6204 Just be warned that the show could have negative effects on girl preteens as I actually believe that someone already gave a warning to them specifically regarding what was going to be coming to the show eventually as well. I unfortunately do not remember what it was saying exactly or where I Iocated it at, but the show is functioning the way that it should be at least for the very first episode. It was created by the same group of the people who worked originally on the Proud Family by the way, so the inclusion of the certain script on the particular episode of the show IS NOT a mistake as well.
It is also the kind of show that could potentially make kids view young girls in a different perspective entirely, something that Disney is trying to intentionally avoid doing to them as much as possible as well.
