I'm a Warriors fan & I love watching this Pelicans team, they have little bit of everything on offense to demoralize a team. Zion has obviously been hearing his critics, including myself. Early on I thought Zion was having trouble with his ego & role on the team, and he became passive aggressive in his play style & lacked discipline on & off the court. Now since the All Star break he been a changed man, like he had a talk with KG or something to bring the dawg out night in & night out from here on out!!!😂 I love it!! Hope he keeps balling out consistently now!

I genuinely think people talking negatively about his weight helped him. He was lacking and some players need adversity or a chip on their shoulder to explode in games. It’s a real thing. Hes tired of all the talking and people saying he will fail. That’s also why I think that one Ball brother and Lebron James’ kid won’t succeed. Because when you are put on a pedestal despite not accomplishing much, it makes your head too big. Players sometimes need adversity. That’s why kids from the hood many times do so well. Or people like Steph Curry who has a father who is a former NBA player but is also short in height and was never expected to make it. Chip on shoulders can be deadly weapons.
NOP has a really interesting future. This offseason in to next deadline and the offseason after are going to be pivotal for them, there will be a ton of huge decisions to make. The playoffs should give them an idea of what they need to do. Jonas is a UFA this summer, and they’ll be about 20M under the tax line without him, their 1st, and the LAL 1st if they keep it. They can defer it of course. They’re going to have to make big decisions on BI’s future, the C spot, and they likely need a lead guard. CJ has 2y left on his deal, and I’d be very surprised if he finished that contract there. Maybe they don’t move him until he’s an expiring, we’ll see. This franchise also has never been a tax team, but if they want to be good, next season will probably be the final one they can avoid paying the tax. Should be fun to watch. I think a lot of people are putting too much into Zion playing 60 games, so far, this season. He's only 23 years old and he's got to play a ton more injury-free bball before it's reasonable to think his weight problems, injury issues and general indifference are behind him. He's an unbelievable force when he's healthy but I doubt he's changed for the long-term. He got so badly embarrassed in front of the entire world before this season that he took action to save his reputation and career. Now, he's reset expectations and people will assume he'll play 60+ games every season.
