I live in Ahmedabad, but we call it Amdavad here
Its not about erasing the "Ahmed" in Ahmedabad....its just a colloquial way of saying, roj ke bol chaal me fast pronounciation me Amdaavaad ho gaya hai...its been converted in the day to day way of speaking naturally.....just like Amritsar is called Ambarsar by the locals

I am against erasing old names but every city has its own vernacular and local way of saying the same name like for outsiders its Amritsar but for us its Ambarsar. Same way Ahmedabad is Amdavad for Gujarati speakers especially. Like Lahore is laur for Punjabis. Dont nitpick everything bro.

Im from Ahmedabad and we are called amdavadi not ahemdabadi and also In Gujrati its pronunciation is AMDAVAD so you are no one to say i guess😊

Aloo ki sabzi with jalebi and Garlic ki kheer is a genuine thing. Though its not popular throughout the land but IT does exist.
In English it's Ahmedabad but in gujarati language it's amdavad.
