The rest of the commenters never voluntarily touched a single book in their lives.
That is an easy mischaracterization to make, that people who disagree with you on what books are appropriate for kids must be illiterate. Stay in your bubble, I guess.
@@bobpearce6084 Book-banning morons are barely if at all literate and do not have a single fucking clue about pedagogy or psychology, just parrot what they are told to.
Thank you for sharing good authors and gentlemen.
Why banned books and not read the books in schools. Students want to have a chance to read books that is most important to them. Not ruining it for them it’s wrong.
Thank you
There are no book bans in the US. There are controversies over which books are appropriate for kids and which ones are not. Slandering those with differing views on the issue is easier than making an open argument for their own position. The position this video is pushing is that gay porn should be in schools. Calling this stuff "book bans" is simply a falsehood.
1) Prohibiting books from school libraries and public libraries is book banning. 2)Bigots like you think more about gay sex than my gay friends do. Ya'll need to get a hobby and go touch grass if all you think about is gay sex. Ya'll not well in the head. Secondly author George M. Johnson clearly stated his books have an age range which is 16+. You totally lacking in critical thinking skills let alone intelligence. Again go touch grass.
Gay porn? Oy vey.
Lol. What? It’s not gay porn. That’s not the position this video is pushing. And they are book bans. They’re being restricted, limited, held until approved, and then removed. That’s a ban. When someone says “this is bad, take it away from here” and that’s what happens, that is a ban. There is a surge of book bans, targeting books about and by marginalized peoples in the US at the same time that there is a surge of bills which specifically target trans adults, and children, in the name of protecting children when they are harming them. It’s always a misidentification of what something is. And I’m not really sure what you’re saying. Our argument is- don’t restrict literature. Don’t restrict freedom. Intellectual curiosity, freedom of expression, inclusivity, tolerance, and equality are American values. What is happening?
hmmmmm 🤨 readers of all ages .
The Denver post recently did a story, See:
Denver post 2023/10 Colorado libraries face increasing requests to ban books
Interestingly; about the same time; windsor colorado along with the library were and are contriving to sell library/community interests in favor of corporate interests.
See:
Clearview Library District delays vote on selling vacant land to Windsor for grocery store
-------
Brilliant: No need to worry about banning individual books; simply remove/sell the library! And of course book stores.
When this 'sale'/gift goes through windsor will have set the example for others of like mind to follow.
Nobody reads books anymore..kids have the internet to stay informed.
Stop the BS democrats. You banned maple syrup because of the bottle. GROW UP
Maybe this is a mainstream concern? It should be. And what are you talking about? It’s not Democrats. It should have nothing to do with political affiliation. And no one banned a maple syrup bottle. A corporation made a decision to change the packaging and logo of their product and people went crazy over it. Not equivocal at all. We are talking about literature, perspective expansion, intellectual curiosity, diversity, inclusivity, etc. What did we lose by the changing of a label on a single product?
We're talking about books liek gender queer which have graphic cartoon depictions of oral sex being made available to young kids.@@Iamthatis137
