I am a government employee in India...now I am on paid maternity leave of 6 months..Also we can avail 2 years of paid child care leave (in parts, offcourse). My husband is in private sector. He didn't get a single day of paid leave. Also, our profile does not allow us to work from home
In India (especially in my company) , the mother gets 6 months of maternity leave - 3 months paid and 3 months unpaid
but unfortunately , the father gets only 10 days of paternity leave. :(
Same wo b 5 days for one child and another 5 for next child
In Canada there are two options for Maternity / Parental / Adoption:
- Standard (12 Months): 55% Benefit Rate weekly max up to $668
- Extended (18 Months): 33% Benefit Rate weekly max up to $401
Some companies will offer top up. E.g. Loblaw offers Mothers up to 75% of salary for 17 weeks and 11 weeks for Fathers.

India has 6 months paid plus extended in special cases.patetnity varies from 15 days to 1 month based on firm.
Also, in the US, it depends on the state asw. In Massachusetts for example, you get 6 months of paid leave as a mother and 3 months as a father. New York, Columbia, and a lot of other states have such laws. Texas is unfortunately not one of them..

Yes, Living in US is superb and I would recommend living here personally but please note every place has its ups and downs so you have to choose what you like and dislike

Yes rajat sir and shilpa ma'am Canada main ek saal ki paid leave milte hai for parents to be.
In Canada , maternal /paternal is 52 weeks, extended it’s 63 weeks
In Uk it’s one year , 9 months paid leave
For government employees in India: 6 months maternity leave for mother and 15 days paternity leave for father (fully paid)
In india maternity leave is for 6 months and paternity leave that too only in govt job gets 15 days leave. Private company has different leaves rules but govt job is for 15 days.
In India one week of paternity leave (paid) given in some mnc but not many give and 3 months of maternity leave but will be loss of pay for all the days . These maternity leaves will be adjusted with some existing leave balance. There is no free payment😢. Entire maternity break will be loss of pay

I am working in a MNC in India and we get 6 months of paid Maternity and Paternity leaves
I work in a cbse (private) school. Here since last 6-7 years the mother gets 6 months of paid leave. There is no paternity leave.

Rajat bhai India me 6 month maternity leave for ladies hota hai iske alawa agar aapki govt job hai to 15-15 day's ka medical leave alag se le sakte hain it's up to mother. Baki 15 days leave for father bhi hota hai. Maine to pehle hi keha tha hamara India aapke US se best hai. 😂

Hello from Germany. In this matter, we are lucky here. 😅 I am also in parental leave. In Germany, one can take upto 3 years. First year is paid ( 60% of your salary) so both the parents can divide it however they want.
No. 6 months in India is not full pay maternity leave. It's 3 months paid and 3 months unpaid. Same goes for Canada. And Paternity leave (for father) in India is very uncommon. Never heard anyone getting more than a week.

in my Share listed limited company as per law 6 months maternity paid leave is there.
and paternity leave is only 4 days. there is no law related to paternity leave here.

You can take up to 12 weeks of FMLA on top of maternity leave but it is unpaid
Actually if you get paid parental leave then it is always included in your FMLA, for example i get 2 months of PPL so my 3 months of FMLA will have 2 months paid and 1 month unpaid.
In India when I was working I had UK client. Employees there used to get 1 year full paid leave…that’s the same in Canada my friends got 1 year paid maternity leave and paternity is 4-6 months (lived there for 3 years). India it’s 6 months maternity leave and I think just a week for the Dads😅. Irony is lived so many countries but had my boy in US 😂 I could afford take a year break from work as I didn’t wanted put a 4month old baby to daycare as life gets more harrowing!!
