  • Rumble Jar - Cold Brew Coffee in a Mason Jar! Cold Brew Coffee is actually better than regular coffee, but it takes a wee bit longer to make. It's less acidic, sweeter, and brings out flavors that hot coffee simply cannot do. The Rumble Jar is possibly the easiest method to make this magical thing called cold brew. If you have mason jars, you're halfway there.

-The Rumble Jar is designed around 3 key aspects:
    1) Make barista-quality cold brew
    2) Prep time less than 60 seconds and clean up less than 60 seconds
    3) Only 2 components to clean up and manage besides the jar and NO disposable parts
-With Rumble Jar, there is no need to measure or weigh your coffee grounds! We've added fill lines on the filter for you to use as a guide.
-We've already done the math for you! If you fill the coffee grounds to the first fill line, it makes a normal strength coffee. If you fill to the second line, it makes what is known as a concentrate. This is twice as strong and needs to be diluted later 1:1 with water. Some folks prefer this because you can make twice as much consumable coffee in a single batch.
-The size of the filter's holes is 200 microns. This is the optimal size as it is much smaller than a coarse coffee ground, but large enough to enable good water flow into the brew chamber.
-After you add the coffee grounds, the silicone cap plays two key roles. For one, it seals in the coffee grounds (and the mess!) until you're ready to dump them. Secondly, the openings on the perimeter of the cap allow you to add water AFTER adding the grounds. The water magically flows down the openings, into, the jar, and into the filter.
-After securing the leak-proof mason jar lid, slowly flip the jar upside down and you'll hear a "rumble." At this point the coffee grounds are floating, and that noise is the coffee shifting around and getting saturated with water. This is an important step. If you don't saturate the grounds, they can clump together and water will have a tough time penetrating the grounds. It can create a weak brew.
-Each Rumble Jar comes with a mesh bag that serves as a secondary filter, in case you really want to remove all sediment. However, many customers find that the small amount of sediment simply falls to the bottom of the jar and never makes its way into their cup of coffee.
-After dumping the grounds, there will still be some grounds in the filter. Here's a trick: run the faucet along the inside walls and wash the grounds to the bottom of the filter. Then turn the faucet on full blast into the filter. The water will fill up a couple of inches before spilling out of the filter holes and the grounds will be mixed with the water. Dump the contents quickly and that should do the trick!
-And of course, Rumble Jar is dishwasher safe, but most customers simply wash with a soapy sponge.

We picked up the Rumble Jar to make cold brew and I ended up using it for making big batches of herbal tea. Works like a charm!

Love the channel! And this video. I received the rumble jar for Christmas this year and absolutely love it! I use the cotton bag it came in to strain the small coffee particles out and store it in a different container in the fridge.

    Thanks!
I appreciated the advice about grinders at 2:58 and 3:12. I wish you would have included a link for the grinder you used.
I appreciated the advice about grinders at 8:08.
I appreciated the advice about why reheated coffee tastes so bad at 10:27.
It's better to buy the Rumble Jar direct from the website (especially if you are going to buy two, like me) where you get can two for $50.75 versus one for $32 on Amazon.

If you just sift your beans a little, the fines will be gone. Highly recommended.
