hi there i built my boiler with a refectory of 4 " on 5 sides that to hold my heat storage instead of extra gallons of water . you can't get a hot fire burning inside a water jacket . mine smoke from time to time but most the time it is steam . good show john

Sounds like your refractory is to large and the unit is burning cold. That is why there is smoke / steam. Greenwood boiler had the same issue, they used ceramic for their refractory.

Hello Jeff I’m looking at building a large out door wood boiler that I can load the wood with my skid steer. I have a heavy wall bullet style fire box measuring 16’ x 5’ I’m looking to heat a house shop an a 40’ x 100’ green house is something that would work/ an be feasible an how would you suggest to set it up

Just fired up my new classic edge for the first time. All is great and the heat is amazing. I’m getting tons of creosote in the firebox it’s literally only 3 days old and my wood is hard wood 3 year seasoned stores indoors. Reaction chamber and chimney are clear. Still in the 40s during the day is this normal with low demand (high idle periods?)

Yes that is normal! when it gets really cold the fire burns much hotter and burns of the creosote. But then there is the spring and warmer day with more idle time creates creosote. Happy heating! Jeff

I left a message on the other post but I have never had creosote problem before this yr am burning good dry wood but still creosote I took fan out and cleaned good it was full of ash and changed the gasket still creosote leave door open good fire close door and it smokes open door and burns good never had this before chimney is clean all seems good except creosote don't remember this being like this before stove is 12yrs old I can't understand why creosote this yr and not before. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say. Also never heard boiler sound like boiling water before have not done anything to this stove before this yr
You can see the creosote is liquid from half way back of stove to the door. Sorry so long but trying to give you all information. Thank you for what you do. You do it well

You might need to replace pump, not enough circulation in the boiler. Creosote attaches to cold surfaces.

I've only ever seen the whip style brushes used with a drill. Aren't the full head style brushes that you showed in the video normally pushed in by hand?

What do recommend to clean out the fire box of my woodmaster 4400?

@@AltheatsupplyLLC No I mean at end of season shut down to get all the creosote off the water jackets.
I've never cleaned them before, but this newer stove I'd like to keep in tip top shape.
But yeah I use a big square nose shovel to clean out the ashes. hahaha.
