The proxy war in Ukraine is the first time NATO has tried to pick on someone their own size and NATO is getting humiliated
Degeneracy, corruption... all the bad actors will be rewarded even if NATO as a whole declines. No incentive in modern West for ANY pro-social action means the administrators are only interested in short term personal gain, instead of long term community benefit.
Just the same mentality as corruption anywhere, only now contained to the elite and the derelict- the middling classes are conformist and shamed into giving more for less, for the benefit of upper class who are untalented, unpatriotic, ungrateful, only beneficiaries of family stolen fortunes.
Firstly this is not the first proxy war with USSR/Russia or China, it is just one of many. Secondly the war started niot because of the West, but because Russia made a stupid mistake in underestimating Ukraine. Russia has lost all that was worth having and soon it will, because it will owe China, lose the eastern part of Russia. It will be kicked out of Ukraine simply because the West will not allow it to stay, and Russia cannot even win over Ukraine, so NATO is definately too big an enemy to attack.

Russian total casualties are less than 200 thousand maybe even much less still.
Ukraine total casualties are somewhere between 3 and 5 million.
Ukraine mobilises troops by giving them 3 days of training. Most of them die within a month after being mobilised.
Russia recruits VOLUNTEERS and then trains them for 8+ months before they come close to combat.
Ukraine doesn't have manpower left. And most of what it DOES have, are doing their utmost best to hide from the pressgangers.
Russia is increasing its troop numbers by an average of 40 thousand per month.
Ukraine's troop numbers are slowly decreasing, despite their horrible pressganging.
It's mostly going slowly because there's literally TENS OF THOUSANDS of fortifications built since 2014 that Ukraine is defending from, and because Ukraine is sacrificing troops at a rate of thousands per day.
