SAME!! I am SO SAD!! I feel almost like my Mom died again because I loved Baskets and Christine so much!! In true Louie comedic fashion, I can imagine him getting to The Pearly Gates, seeing Meatloaf standing there & Louie saying, "Jesus! Seriously? Meatloaf again?" LOL. I WISH I'd known he had cancer! I would've tried everything to get him a personal letter from me.
Nothing is wrong with Howie Mandel. Both great shows. I don't know why in complementing celebrities people feel a need to degrade others.

His role in Baskets is brilliant. Even down to the characteristical micro-expressions, like intonation and hand gestures, he maintains a seamless continuity in his comedic identity. Had no idea he could act like that...

Man, I couldn't believe my eyes! I religiously watched his animated show when I was growing up. The moment he switched to the voices he used in the cartoon, the nostalgia just overran me. His dad was always my favourite character!

This man is a national treasure. He is so damn funny.
I don't have any issues with people being overweight for the most part, but when it's someone I love like Louie, I just want him to be as healthy as he can be to live as long as he'd like to.

He has said that being overweight is a struggle he has not been able to overcome. He overcame addictions to gambling, smoking, but overeating has been harder. He wrote about it in one of his books. Read his books they are funny but very sweet as well .

Louie was peforming at The Plaza in Las Vegas at the Fremont/Main St Comedy Louge. Went to see him in August 2014. Funniest humor I've seen. 90 minute show. Laughed and couldn't help saying. Oh no the whole time. Best Time.

Such a loss; he was such a good guy and so funny, his stories about family could make you laugh and cry which is the ultimate compliment to his humanity and his professionalism. He truly will be missed.

When he's quoting himself as a kid, and quoting his dad in arguments, I can hear those character voices he did in "Life with Louie", the animated series. He was one of the greats.

the one joke has always stuck with me about louie's dad, they're in the car and his dad notices a group of people, a family, or whatever, "look at them" he says in a real sarcastic disapproving way. i know so many people like that, pure americana.

Absolutely love Louie. Wish I remembered where I first saw him, but I'm sure it was when Comedy Central was just starting and they had Short Attention Span Theater with Jon Stewart and Stand-up, Stand-up with Wally Collins and they'd show snippets of routines. Absolutely love him.

Man, he really, had Conan laughing hard! Man, Louie was so, great in Baskets'. That show was brilliant and should have been on longer. We get crap shows that stay on for decades and yet it seem's like really, brilliantly written and 'off the cuff' type shows seem to get only a couple. Not fair! RIP Louie, Louie! ;)

I'm 35 and just started baskets a few days ago ... I grew up knowing this man(louis) but never really got to know him... I'm so glad I can do a deep dive and just be so grateful and impressed at this point in life
