Glad to hear Rick and Morty now speak with original lines this time.
1. They removed the fast fall technique that makes you move faster (dodge jump+ffall+jump+ffall)
2. Dodge jumps are less spammy due to dodge meter being small
3. reindog's up special is changed so reindog cant fly across the map anymore
4.dodges are longer
I like that now instead of dodge spaming you have to focus more on paring and predicting enemies moves

It’d be cooler if there was more of a shimmy kind of mechanic in this game tbh the low speeds make avoiding attacks impossible unless you’re actively walking away basically

Where’s the high level gameplay?
Can't wait to destroy ppl with Reindog again. Looks like he hasn't changed much apart from being able to kill a bit earlier ? Maybe due to smaller blastzones.
And you did pretty good but played a lot defensively. Try putting constant pressure and being more agressive when playing him.
The side air (ball roll) and side special air (spin charge) are both great combo openings.
If you wanna launch your opponent up on the stage, don't hesitate to vary a bit and use the down air tail spike instead of always using the ground up attack. Quick jump and do the tail down air and it will bounce the opponent on the ground and up in the air. It can easely kill this way at high percents.
When playing defensively, remember that you can buff you projectiles with the fire walls, don't hesitate to spam pressure an opponent while he tries to reach you by using this - it's a great moment to use the beam too since you'll not move from that side of the stage until he reaches you and it's gonna damage him.
For edge guard, down air tail spike / down special fireball and air side special spin are the best options.
Also for recovery when you are getting edgeguarded on the edge of the stage, don't hesitate to dash up and towards the map border, then use your up-special to transform into a ball. The acceleration it gives you is often enough to reach back the center of the stage and it oftens catches opponent off-guard. Edit : apaprently this have been changed so you can't recover this way anymore :(

??? Reindog is a zoner, he has some tools to defend in close-quarters but that doesnt mean that you are going to play him aggresive, he is playing reindog the right way by spacing the oponnent.

@@francoandreparraflores1491 Reindog is a zoner but can be played agressively to be more effective. Basically you hop from being agressive and pushing to backing-up a bit more and zoning while on the defensive. If you watch gameplay from pro Reindog players you'll notice it instantly.
I myself was only zoning with Reindog until I watched how Mirrorman played him during Evo 2022 and that's when I realized I was holding the character's potential back by only zoning with him.
Looks like they changed Rick’s rocket to hit foes upward now. Disappointed about that, but I’m happy he has actual voicelines now

In my experience it gives it to the Reindog player when they midair up special.
That flame is ABYSMALLY slow compared to before. As a reindog main, I'm a little sad by this footage.

@@GA5_MA5KHarvell-wp6yj Just looking at this vid, the missile doesn't have as much knockback as it used too while Rick himself doesn't have good options for vertical. This more or less puts the opponent at decent advantage for recovery. Say you hit them with it off stage, all you did was propped them up to recover better. Sure the exchange is some damage but they aren't KO. That is a trade anyone will take vs Rick. I don't want to type forever but this isn't really a good change, especially vs Heavier characters that would appreciate this.

This is definitely some of the best gameplay of the relaunch I’ve seen. Game looks to be much more in line with smash and not as focused on floaty gameplay. If that’s the case I’m way more excited for this games relaunch and hope to see it be successful
