Maximus is one of those characters that really grows on you. At first, I thought they were going for the useless idiot type with him but I was glad it was not the case. It's kinda crazy but in a way, he is a really original take on the anti-hero type.

When I was like 11/12 years old I fell deeply in love with Fallout 3 and the entire series. I used to spend hours watching fan edits of Fallout gameplay, official art, and concept art with fitting music from the 30's, 40's, 50's and early 60's in the background. One of my favorites was Fallout 3 concept art to Louie Armstrong's What a Wonderful World. As silly as it sounds the show and especially think video has made me feel like I'm 11/12 again. I can't get through an episode or even this video without crying. I truly never thought I'd ever feel like a kid again. Thanks for making this, a younger me would have watching this and The Book of Eli in Fallout 3 video pretty much everyday after school.
I'm the same as you! I felt some emotions watching this show as Fallout 3 is one of my favourite games. The feelings of exploration, discovery, mystery, learning about the Fallout lore, the music, and the story of Fallout 3. Watching this show made me feel like I was a young boy again walking the wastelands and discovering the Vaults. An example is that scene where the Ghoul comes back to the Super Duper Mart. It reminded me of how you would clear a large building, it was like a maze and exciting. And you could come back and it would be cool to see some missed loot.

This scene pissed me off because of how naive Lucy was still after witnessing the wasteland’s reality, she really thought she could talk her way out lmao
She’s only been in the wastes for like 2 days. She wants to believe people can be better and not just assume everyone she meets is a monster, Maximus is proof of that as well as the scientist guy. She’s met people who are worth giving a chance already.

That’s actually something most official Fallout stories don’t cover; the main character losing their morals and virtues the longer they spend in the wasteland. I hope that’s where Lucy’s story goes.

@@noodlesoupyeah that applies to the major factions maybe, but your average wastelanders and raiders aren’t trying to save the world. Besides the ends don’t justify the means. Imagine; Lucy is sent on a mission to find an important thing that relates to some major plot development. The thing is in a small town so she goes there and says “I need the important thing” and the town is like “sorry we can’t give you the thing because we need it to survive, if you take it we’ll all die”. Lucy says “I’m taking the thing” and the town says “no you can’t” and then Lucy massacres the whole town and takes the thing. Season 1 Lucy would never do that, but if she loses her self to the wasteland, if she justifies killing 1 or 2 people every now and then she can justify killing 6 or 7 people more often. If she can justify that then killing 15 or 20 villagers for an important thing will be easy, right? It’s a slippery slope and I hope the show takes the time to explore that. If it’s done well it’ll be really compelling. This’ll probably sound really stupid but there’s a fan-fiction called Fallout: Equestria (it’s a Fallout/My Little Pony fusion fiction, yeah I know) and it’s genuinely incredible. It tackles these exact concepts and moral dilemmas perfectly which is probably why I want to see an official Fallout story try and tackle it too.
I used to LARP in a game called 'Dystopia Rising', a post-apocalyptic setting not entirely dissimilar to FallOut. And this show really made me nostalgic for those days!
As I'm watching and it's getting closer to the end, I said "Please end it with her saying "WHY?!" and oh thank you, that was so satisfying. LOL Perfect. Great job.
I nerded out more hearing Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass than I did for a lot of the other stuff in this show. Whenever I hear that song I think of fond memories of early mornings in my childhood
