- 2 month update of the Clock 19 X.
I love this gun! I have approx 2000 rounds through it, most all factory supplied ammo, and have not had a single misfire or failure to eject or anything. I am now running a lot of reloads through it and still have not had an issue with approx 150 rounds of reloads.
Well-delivered Sir! Just bought mine Sunday and love it! Really appreciated the simplistic approach to talking about what you liked about the gun!
I just picked the 19X up a few days ago and been to the range twice and I can't overstate how impressed I've been with this gun so far. I've shot Glocks in the past, however, this is the first Glock I've owned and I have actually been happier with it than I expected. Very smooth, very accurate, and it's something different than your standard black Glock. Thanks for the update!
My first Glock personally, I wanted a g19 Gen4 couple years ago but never got one.. stayed with Sig and XD’s. This was a different option with glock and i absolutely love it! 0 Issues
I got my 19X last week. It’s not the first Glock I have shot but the first one I have owned. One range trip so far and I really like this gun. I will be buying other Glocks in the future. I’m in Florida also and here in South Fla on both coasts all the gun shops were selling it for around $620 + tax or more. I got it for $588 + tax in Charlotte County.

Approx 400 rounds thru mine. My son purchased same day. He is at around 200 rounds. Flawless. HP, FMJ, brass, steel, various brand ammo. No issues. I do not care for the low sights. But, that is just my old eyes. :) Will change out for some higher Trijicon or similar.

I agree with you on the sights. That was my assessment as well. The sights are definitely nicer than the old plastic sights but I still don't think they are the greatest. I've also had the metal on the edges of the rear sight start flaking off so when sunlight hits it I'm getting a glare. All and all the 19X is an amazing gun.
Love the pistol, but those night sights, especially the front, just wash out in the sun, even under a roof, at least in my experience. Your's may differ
3/2023 Paid 588.oo clams for my G19X. Glock should have made this 25 years ago. Anxious to see what Gen6 brings. Hopefully a complete restyle of the grips, more Walther like I hope. Keep the slide and other 34 parts simple same .
First thing I do is clean and lubricate it, and replace the black magazine followers with Gen5 orange followers. Much nicer to see when empty.

I can’t see the Glock night sights in the sunlight, I put a set on a G19 and left them a week. Changed to the Tru-glo. I’m gonna buy a 19x but the sights will have to go!
Sights are definitely a personal preference thing. These night sights are way better than the standard Glock sights, and they are metal which is a big plus in some aspects. I have Trijicon HD sights on another carry weapon and absolutely love those sights!

Why wouldn’t Glock come off their bid some? I heard Sig came in $100million cheaper. Even if you broke even to help out the US military on the initial contract they would eventually recoup that money and then some several years later. Not to mention the notoriety and all the other countries government contacts to be had. I don’t think Sig cut any corners with the M17. I say good on them!! 🇺🇸
I work for the Army and I believe the G19X came in 2nd but it's an import vs the Sig P320 or M17 can be built here in USA.

Jeremy Minter yeah I’m not a fan of steel case either. I’ve only ran 150 rounds of federals range target practice rounds in mine so far. I noticed those rounds are really run real dirty in my gun so I’m going to start using Remington rounds

As for reloading, I typically use the Hodgdon reloading website. Good that. It will walk you through powder and bullet selections. I change it up from time to time, trying different combos.

Would b nice but wont happen. I had to put trijicon HD night sights apex trigger steel guide rod on mine now my 19x feels so beautiful i might upgrade the barrel to a gold barrel.

I have a problem with this gun, i chambered a round and the trigger was limp like it didn’t have any tension, chambered another it was fine and haven’t had a problem since

Does the carbon build up stain the gun over time or will it always wipe off

I give the gun a quick wipe down after each range session, so the carbon doesn’t add up over time for me. I just have a simple cloth that I keep in my go bag.

TiteGroup and CFE have been pretty consistent for me. Getting full metal jackets and a few hollow points from EvergladesAmmo.

Paid 1000 for mine, if there is one thing I love about the US, it has to be the availability and price of guns and ammo. You guys are leaders in that field for sure. I truly believe if some country were to invade the US they would be fucked from the word "go", literally everyone is armed, and those who aren't are comparable to people who don't vote.

That would be a great starter pistol. Very easy gun to learn. Easy to take down and clean. Not many parts. Smooth shooting.

The handle is 2 large.
Pulling the trigger is not part of the unloading process. Pulling it to verify that it’s empty is a bad habit. What if you fucked up and there was a round in the chamber. Well you verified that it was loaded and launched a bullet.

You never want to pull the trigger unless you are meaning to fire a round, or if you have just cleared the gun and are ready to break it down. There are lots of people that like to leave the Glock triggers “dead” when not in use, like when storing in gun safe unloaded and such. In this case, you clear the weapon, point it in a safe direction, and pull the trigger to release the tension.
I love mine but having major problem with mine. With store bought ammo can get about 2 shots off it jams won't pick up the next round slide doesn't go forward all the way. About 500 rds of fmj and hp
Yikes. Hate to hear that. Very uncommon. Definitely contact Glock and talk that through. I put another 300 rounds through it this weekend with no issues still.

Mitchel reeves - I had issues with mine too. Send it in to them and while it's there tell them to install the ambi extended slide stop lever. That's the only way to get that beautiful piece of gear now. And if anyone wants the genuine red glock firing pin springs (OEM) or glock OEM lanyard hole plugs for their regular g19, I have a connection to Austria. Good luck and stay safe.

Nick Comp - - - Glock’s will shoot anything you throw at them. I have never had an issue with any brand bullets or reloads. I would have a feeling that all gun manuals probably say that. I appreciate the heads up though...

I just don't get it. This was there modular hand gun submission to the US army. It lost. That doesn't make it a bad gun, but that's not my point really. They literally submitted a 19 slide with a 17 frame. What's wrong with that? It took zero thought or effort on their part.
Look at some of the other submissions.. Yeah they didn't win either, but at least they brought something new to the table. A Glock 19 slide with a 17 frame.. Wow am I blown away!!!
If you don't own a Glock.. By all means buy it.. It will be the same experience . However, if you own Glocks and justify this purchase.. Well give me some of that extra waste of money.. Seriously people.. Let me polish a turd and sell you that it's not still shit. Is Glock shit.. Absolutely not! Is spending any of your hard earned money on this thoughtless creation.. absolutely!

Internal parts are upgraded, comes with metal night sights, which are over $100 by themselves, barrel twist is much better, trigger pull is smoother, felt recoil is much less with the full size grip and shorter slide, among other improvements. Not your cup of tea, then no need to buy one. But this is not a “same ol” Glock. I paid almost the same amount for this gun as I would have a standard Glock, without considering the upgrades mentioned above.

Jeremy Minter you don't need me to justify your purchase. I'm telling you.. No sale for me... I don't hate Glock.. enjoy. Im not a fan boy.. If they want my money they need to do a lot better than that.. Seriously my 2 year old grandson could have put the two together. It's a Glock.. I'm sure it's fine. I value my dollar a little more. If I didn't own a Glock.. Sure why not.. But I do.. So yeah.. No thanks.. And that's my opinion.. Don't need to share it and obviously you do not.
Thanks again for the reply! Definitely like discussing different weapons, in this case, the Glock 19x. I own a lot of different handguns, of all different makes, models, calibers, etc. For the most part, a Glock is a Glock, a Smith is a Smith, a Kimber is a Kimber, etc etc etc.... (each brand has their own feel, and similarly within the brand) Glock has fewer big time changes than a lot of other guns, because when you have something that functions so reliably, you don’t need/want to change things up. For those that love Glocks, you can pick up many different sizes and still have the same overall feel that you are used to. Glocks aren’t for everyone, and I have a lot of other types of handguns, so I don’t consider myself a Glock snob. The only thing about what you said was that Glock didn’t change much... When in fact, if you look at how similar all Glocks are, this is one of the largest changes, by far, that Glock has made. Once again, not trying to “sell you” on the Glock 19x, just pointing out that this actually is a very different set up for Glock, with lots of upgrades already included.
We can point out negatives with just about any gun out there. All personal preference. And that is why I review lots of different options, for people curious whether or not that gun could be an option for them. So your opinion is nice to know. Everyone has one...
Jeremy Minter I definitely appreciate the review. I certainly don't hate Glocks.. I guess I just don't get this one. You are right though.. This is a big step for them... Which might be part of my frustration.
John W what I find interesting is the fact that this isn’t the first time a manufacturer has brought to market a pistol with a smaller slide with a full sized frame. Ever hear of the Colt Commander? How about the FN 509? These are just two examples of what Glock did with the 19X. This isn’t a new concept but I have yet to hear an hate for the Colt Commander or the FN 509. It must be a Glock thing....
That dam grip angle is horrendous; its shaped like a frisbee.
