Honestly I’m only 5ft tall, I wear midi and maxi skirts all the time and get many compliments. I don’t care if it makes me look shorter, if you like it wear it!!!! ❤️ this is a great video though! Thank you!!!
Wear what makes you feel good about yourself is most important.
If anything I think they make me look taller (I’m 5ft too!) because they create a continuous line from my waist or from my shoulders down
I do that too. I look short but midi is a comfortable and practical length!
I love midi dresses as well. It’s classy. Also, I don’t have to worry about my legs or stockings.
Definitely wear what makes you feel good about yourself. But that doesn’t change the fact that midi length can, when of certain lengths and shapes, make petites look shorter. The problem with looking shorter is that we see by comparison, so if you look shorter you can automatically look wider (heavier) and a lot of women would prefer that didn’t happen lol.
Appreciate your video I'm 5'2 & the struggle is real, team shortie.
Thank you, Chi! You're so educated and detailed- I can't express how thankful I am for all your information. I'm 5"0 and now others see me as 5"5 because of how I dress now. Thank you!
So glad to hear Alyssa!
Chi, thank you so much for the great advice! With each video, I walk away with new knowledge of how to dress my 5'2 body to look taller, more stylish, and less frumpy. I appreciate you!
Thank you so much for these tips. I am only 4’11 so I really appreciate your videos. Please dont stop making videos
Iam also 4 '11
4:8 here 🙈🙈🙈
I'm 4'10 and I love your vids. I'm taking so much more notice of how women are wearing their clothes since watching your videos. I don't usually tuck into my blue jeans, but I did this yesterday with a fitted button down shirt with a collar and a belt, and I felt like a million dollars. So much great info, keep it up! Xx
Me 4'9😢
4’11.5” but that .5” don’t even make a difference :’)
I am 5'2 and I start to wear midi skirts this fall I got so many compliments. Thanks for the video ❤
Your youtube channel is one of the very most informative I've found.
Thank you so much!!
I am 5'0" and find midi skirts are best for me in cooler weather when worn with knee-high boots; I like the hem of the skirts to cover the tops of my boots for an unbroken leg line. Otherwise, I stick with knee-length or slightly above-the-knee skirts. I love your videos and find them to be informative and fun!
Another great video! I like how you film in different areas of your home! It keeps things fresh! I am 5'2" and I usually don't wear midi dresses, but I think it comes down to the occasion, the appropriate shoes and also the shape of the calves of the wearer. Slimmer calves lend themselves to any length of dress, no matter what the height!
Thank you Tami!
Oh my gosh thank you so much for changing the background....this one is so much better because of the glare from the window from the previous ones. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Great video too.
Thank you Sharon!
Hi Chi, I would like to see more samples with pictures. I'm more visual learner. Also, please keep the video or pictures longer when you play them. Or keep the picture on full screen and dub over voice it. Thanks for these videos!
Hi Mary good suggestions!
@@PetiteDressing I am 5ft 1inche I am going to wear a midi dress for the first time on my bday I am scared a bit. My dress is in maroon color with pleates below my waist. I wanna know how it will look on a short girl.
Aww.. How cute 😍
I'm 5 feet. I recently bought few knee length dress that turned out to be midi for me bcoz of my height 😅
I never thought I could look good in midi lengths but I
Love the way one midi dress that I own looks on me so now I understand. Thanks
Glad to hear!
Yes! Love these ideas!! All of these are things I've been most drawn to try as I'm starting to explore the world of midi dresses. I'm 5'4".
It's so great to hear that, Joce! ☺️
I wear midis all the time and rock it. I'm 5 1". Life is too short to care much. Dresses are pretty and make me feel feminine.
You make me shop with directions. Thanks so much
I'm a short person who don't follow any rules about dressing. All I do is look in the mirror to see how the outfit looks on me, regular, midi, even maxi. All you need to do is look in the mirror for proportion. I always get compliments on how I put together the outfit I wear. I wear anything.
Wear anything that looks good on you!
Hi, Chi! New subscriber here. i must say, your channel is a rare find. being a 4'11, your content is so helpful!

Thank you SO much! I wear skirts and dresses 100% of the time and I'm 5'2" , large busted and curvy. These videos have been very helpful!
Aweeee glad it was! Thank you so much! ❤️❤️
I'm 5ft tall and I love the high and low wrap dresses! I have a bunch of them. I always try to stay away from midi anything but I do have a few things in that length and I felt bad cause I thought I was breaking rules since I have shorter lets and a longer torso. But I see you wear them a lot... thank your for showing me these tricks.
Thanks for sharing!!
I'm only 4'9 so I really appreciate your videos. Thank you so much for these tips.😍👍

I am a Christian and love to dress modest , I am not sure of my height but I am short
I also do not wear pants just skirts and dresses
It's so hard to find longer skirts for teenagers as I am 16 , they are believed to be for older women
This video is of great help
I am subscribing 😊
So glad to hear!
@@PetiteDressing Thanks 😊❤️
I'm in the same situation! I don't want to look older, I just want to look modest and cute :)

What are your thoughts on runners etc platform runners etc? Ballerina flats too? Love your videos 🦋
i am 5'4 and i am very thankful to you.... lots of love from south korea 💜
So glad to hear. Thank you!
Hi Chi, thanks for videos. I was 5ft 3in but after years of neck and back surgeries I am 4ft 10in. Been just wearing slacks and long skirts. Just frocks now after thus video. Thanks.
I've been watching your videos and really enjoying them. I wasn't interested at first since I didn't think it necessarily applied to me. I am 5' 4 3/5" feet tall. I have many shorter friends as well as many taller friends so I considered myself just average. No one has ever called me petite and petite-sized clothing never fit. However, after watching your videos I find that your advice can help me. I also admire how you make your videos. As I continue my 2020 resolution of de-cluttering and purging I will keep your tips in mind. Much thanks again.
Thank you Sherry!
Thank you very much you clarify alot for me. I have a lot of midi now i will give away if i cant style
Thanks for your help
You're welcome! ☺️
LOVE, Love, Love you!
Love your channel
Thank you Barbara!
I love midi length dresses and skirts. It is appropriate. Mini is not appropriate for most occasions and age groups. Also maxi is not always appropriate and on stairs you can trip. Just below the knees is also a goo appropriate length. I live your videos! Updates for coats, sweater dresses and boots for winter would really be appreciated!! I learn many things from you. TY
Agree! And thank you so much!
Maxi is a real trip hazard😮
Love the Emilia Clarke examples.
I always love how a long slit in a long dress or skirt looks cause to me it adds a sexy quality and seems more comfy and open and free, less restrictive which speaks to my Natural Boho Romantic sorta style. Maybe I subconsciously also realized it's leg-lengthening to have a slit! Didn't realize that til this video or that light or see-through fabrics or high-low can make it less likely to shorten legs! Makes sense!! I LOVE nude shoes.
Only thing this video left out I thought was about different length possibilities between mini and maxi. I'd think hitting above or below the widest part of calf is most leg-lengthening. So for me barely below knee is a midi area that hits before the calf gets wide so looks very nice. These wide leg flowy culottes looked so off at widest part of my calf but my seamstress mom kept shortening them shorter and shorter for me then I finally saw just barely below the knee looks awesome. Or in the Emilia examples I think the length looked below the widest part of calf yet I guess short enough to be considered midi instead of maxi, or could maybe be called a short maxi.
Thanks for sharing!
As a mature lady, I find midi dresses a god sent! However, at 5’3”, finding the right one is a challenge. For what I can see, the hem of the dress shouldn’t be in the thicker part of the calf but it can be below? I always hear that for short lady if should be just below the knees...it can be longer?
Thank you
I just got a midi dress and shoes and they do not look good on me. Bows on mules were too wide. Usually I can wear midi but this one with v neck and peplum all in same dress. Yes that dress needs to be hemmed up. Thank you so much too for how to wear the right length. I dont have much of a calf's but still it made a big difference. There was a 2nd mistake for that dress & fabric is a bit thicker I dont know how I will see what I can do. I love high low dress. Another issue with that dress was that I can not wear heels so will get the nude shoes but I found the nude sandals. Thank you for all you do to help us petite ladies!
So glad to hear!
It's actually really easy to wear a midi-dress: buy a midi-dress, put it on, wear it. As simple as that
Thank you🙏

Hahahah just found this video and I love it
Great mini dress for Chi in Summer
Going wears those in warm weather
Various colors and designs to wear
And best of all wearing only her dress
Feels beautiful without needless intimates
Chi wears none and loves the fashion of this
Love it qt first sight😍
Glad you love it! 🥰
Hey.
I always get confused with the idea that midi length dresses are not flattering on the thickest part of our calves. But what if we have thinner legs. Like the one in the blue dress had.. She looked completely fine. So can I still wear that dress without caring for where it is hitting my calves?
I have skinny calves too.
No hablo inglés, sólo me guió con las imágenes y leo comentarios traducidos!! Jejejejeje
What about midi dresses for winter? i cannot wear chiffon, silk or thin fabrics...it must be wool, corduroy or similar....please advise
I have a couple of skirts that just don't look the best on me. Then I realized after watching this video the length was hitting me in the wrong area and they were just too long, so shortening made all the difference. In my opinion Emilia Clarke's black and white dress is too long and seems to overwhelm her. I much prefer the yellow lace dress on her.
Great video! This helped me to try out my very first midi dress with a cute slit. My question is, the length is right at the biggest part of my calves, meanwhile it have already had a long slit. Should I cut off a little bit or the slit is enough?
I would think the long slit is enough. you want to retain the style of the midi. just wear it with a matching color top so you have an unbroken line. I had that problem and I decided to leave it. I get a lot of compliments on it. Just wear it with heels. That’s the key.
I'm actually 5'6" but I still feel swallowed up by midi skirts (because my legs are quite short). Thanks for the tips!
So glad you find it helpful! Yes, midi is a challenge for many of us!

Gracias.💖
Thanks. I am portuguese,
I’m 4”11. How about ankle boots with dresses ; always thought that was a no no for petites,, thoughts.
I have a video coming up on this topic- stay tuned!
I think I am the same weight and shape as you. Teresa from Denver Colorado USA 🇺🇸.
Do u have a vodro or can u make one on skirts for petite women?
Yes I’ll make one on skirts!
My legs are not nude, they are brown so should wear a brown shoe or black shoe? Also wear tights with my dresses in the winter. Any suggestions?
Was looking for an answer to my question?
i think i just found the channel for me
Hi, are you vietnamese?
What if you’re short and can’t wear high heels anymore?
3:02 how to choose midi dresses
I m just 4.8 only 😪
I thoughtankle strap sandals was a no-no for petites making your legs look shorter?
i’m 4’11 and chubby🥹
❤️❤️❤️
I Would like to see those rules aplied in your body, I like when you wear the clothes
Love your advice! Can short ladies wear maxi dresses at all? They look so comfy!
Absolutely!! I'll do some videos on maxi as well!
I am 5’3 and wear midi dresses all summer. Only problem is the shoes. Can’t wear high heals anymore. Foot issues and 63yrs old. Any suggestions..
You can wear flats or sandals in nude color- they are leg elongating.
Thank you!
Mrsrae or maybe a low wedge
Highest shoes I can wear are 2" kitten heerls
Have you tried Vionic shoes? I have back and hip issues and can't wear heals either. Vionics have been a real life saver.
❤❤❤❤
Never Midi with sport shoes,?
You can wear sport shoes, but avoid those with heavy bottoms or high shafts.
🙏🏾🙏🏾👍❣️❣️❣️
Emilie Clark has ankle strap sandals on. I thought that was a no-no?
You'll find a lot of celeb styles do not always follow all of these...some actually do the opposite.
Love your channel and recommended tips, however, I personally think that all of the dresses on Emilia Clarke are simply dreadful.!! A better example are the clothes you wear, which are pretty, flattering and practical for most of us shorties.
Thanks for sharing!!
Hii chi what is ur height
Hi I'm 5'2".
Petite Dressing for pregnant women ;)
Thanks! My blog has some posts on the topic and I’ll do some videos in future.
...please consider aging ladies that have gained a bit of hormonal weight
Thanks for the suggestion Debbie.
Atleast people are 5ft 😂I'm 4.10
And m your 889liker
All your suggestions assume one has attractive legs, which I don’t.
Just don't wear them. I have learned to eliminate a lot of styles in my wardrobe. Having a minimalist wardrobe makes life much easier
Gosh that sounds so boring and restrictive.
@@winterinbloom not me. I have come to realize not everything looks good on me and I don't need to wear everything to feel good.
@@lepetitchat123 Well that's certainly fine but I wouldn't go around telling people to not wear something that they want to wear. No one needs that kind of negativity.
@@winterinbloom desire is the root of suffering. Just wear something that looks good on you. Knowing what works best for you and having standards is not a negative thing.
@@lepetitchat123 Or you can wear what you like, and tell negative people who want to impose their opinion on what you should wear to screw off. I find those that have strong opinions on what other people should wear tend to have incredibly low self esteem. That can't just be kind and keep their opinions on what others should be wearing to themselves because they want to spread the misery they feel.
I'm not petite. Just short and fat
Hi, petite ladies come in all sizes, as petite is just the height and not referring to the weight.
Thank you so much for these tips.I am only 4’11 so I really appreciate your videos. Please dont stop making videos
