I got a power blocks sport exp to 90lb and got some magnetic platemates so they go to 95lb

Not durable though. Mine get stuck after a couple years of light use. You have to baby these things and never drop them even the slightest

As dumb as I may sound, I always wondered how those worked. I thought it was all one piece*. Which obviously makes no sense, but I was unaware it adjusted which plates it grabs from the dock.

@@samuelflores5610 when it comes to buying weight it's the best price per pound by far. I will warn the handles are a little hardcore the grips are rough and they weigh about 4lbs each. It's not as convenient to change weights like the Bowflex but it's still pretty quick and easy to change weights on these

The big issue with a lot of these adjustable dbs is half of them only go up to like 50-60 lbs for hundreds of dollars, which is fine for like arm isolation lifts but seriously lacking for pressing, pulls and leg exercises. Decent for beginners but falls short for serious lifters imo.
You really can't do a lot of leg workouts with dumbbells anyway. Mine go up to 88lb and it's more than enough. Anything heavier than that should be on stronger floors IMO
Agreed, if you have these in addition to a rack, bench a olympic Barbell you've got a decent home gym!
I have both regular dumbells and adjustable ones. I would say for lighter weights, use regular dumbells and use adjustable for heavier weights. Adjustable dumbells are too bulky for like 30lb curls for example.

Buy olympic dumbbell rods instead. If you have olympic weights for your barbell you can use them instead. You do have to buy a few 25s and 10s though.

You could buy the long dumbell handles for $24 an add your own plates for that price an get more weight an better motion. An that means you can start with 50$ an add as you spend 2 years to get to curling 50lb each arm (with good form not this form 😜

eventually those plastic breaks and then youll be crying lmao they're literally held by plastic grooves that wear out, both the handles and plates are plastic that can break just with wear and tear, not even dropping them, then you'll have to buy new handles with the same crappy plastic parts

You can eaisly spend 100- $600 to get into shape at home. But after 2 years or so a man is gonna need a gym. I was curling my 45lb dumbells before I got back to the gym. Eventually doing 55lb curls; no way in hell those powerbells could do that well. These combo bells make it so you cannot do a lot of motion because it's so cramped. Best bet is to buy long dumbell handles an traditional plate weights.
