I’m 18, just freshly out of my first actual long relationship a month ago. Hi love, I’m sorry to hear about your breakup. I want to tell you that your feelings are valid and its okay to feel lost after a major life change. One thing we all will have to accept is that relationships are not always forever. Some people only come into your life for a season to teach you something, and they will cause you more damage if they overstay their designated time. There is nothing you can do to make a person stay if they don’t want to. It’s a harsh reality, but it’s true. I hate to meme you, but this one rings true: “Sometimes you are the perfect package at the wrong address.” Months or years from now, you may find that you two weren’t all that compatible, and you could be grateful that it ended when it did. This is a possibility that you have to be open to. I hope my words are taken with an open mind. I’m definitely not trying to judge or preach, but I am speaking from lived experience. I hope you have a blessed one, beloved.

I feel entirely lost, always questioning myself and asking myself what I could have done differently, but I need to come to the conclusion that It wasn’t me who was really the problem. Yes, i have my flaws but the relationship didn’t end because of me if he still wanted to be friends after all the damage he did. I love that quote and I am going to add that to my healing journal. Suffering through abandonment issues then finally finding someone whom you think is going to be your forever then they eventually show you otherwise, is really hard to go through. this is it ! as young women (& men) we need to definitely check in with ourselves as it is crucial . i just turned 18 a month ago & i'm still tryna navigate the era that i'm in , which can be hard at times . also , i have a crush on this dude (we've been friends for almost a year now) & i have been trying to take care of myself at least before i confess to him , so that i don't forget who i am as a person when i get a chance to be with him . my goal is to also help him come out of his shell (because he's considered to be a dry person cause he's like normally quiet most of the time) which i don't have a problem with since i'm a quiet person as well . i want to help him grow as well instead of trying to change him to be what i want him to be . if you can , please do share some advice on how i can do that so that i don't come off as pushy or anything of that nature .
