- If the Stitch Length Lever (Regulator) on your Singer Featherweight 221 or 222K is a bit floppy and rotates unnecessarily or if it is too stiff to raise and lower, then this video tutorial will show you how to make the appropriate adjustments. And, for fun historicity, Carmon will show you the three different styles of the stitch length regulator plate found on the various Featherweights over the years.

Excellent.
Mine keeps bobbing up and down while I try to sew... Giving uneven stitches and of course reverse stitching when I don't want it to. Help please?
That’s great I think I have this issue on my 306k where the lever is frozen in the middle position and cannot get any movement at all especially for reverse, your video suggests kerosene to get rid of the varnish ?, the machine I have looks well oiled , I will look at adjusting the screw but could it be other issues 2 ?, thank you in advance
Nice
My stitch length is way way to tiny. At the basting setting I have a normal 12 setting. What can I do to adjust this? I would like to be able to actually baste with my machine.

I need info on fixing the problem with my fashion mate 257 can you help
Hi! Thank you for your videos, very informative. Can you help me sort a memory please. When I was a kid, early 70's, my grandmother let me use her old black singer sewing machine. It did not have a back stitch and I tied everything off. If it had no back stitch function, would it have had a stitch length function? It seems like I remember being able to change the stitch length but I know for sure it did not have a back stitch. I know it wasn't a featherweight machine. It did not have fancy painting on the machine, but may have had a gold trim painted on the bed plate. I think it had a knee lever to power the machine. I recently inquired about the machine to her daughter and she told me that grandma sold the machine in the late 80's. I never knew. Do you have any idea which machine I am describing? I am trying to find the machine but no luck so far. I would have bought that machine had I known. So sad. Thank you for any help you can give Kim
I learned on a Greybar (Graybar?) that didn't have a reverse and did have a knee lever.
I pfaff 30 goes into reverse but does not sew properly
The electric cable inside the machine keeps degrading because of edge and touches the machine body inside - risk of electrocution when touching the machine. Inspect the cables inside before plugging in
How do you adjust the stitch length? When set at 6, mine is about 8 stitches/inch. I'd like to make the stitches longer when it's in th down position.

Did you get this problem solved? I have the exact same scenario on mine.
I had this exact problem. I was getting 8 stitches/inch when lever was at the lowest. I removed the threaded lever and found that it was bent downward. I re-installed it with an extra 1/2 turn so it was now bent upward, and now get 5.5 stitches per inch! I'm happy as a lark!
My butterly lever keeps moving upwards when i sew
This tutorial will help when needing to make the adjustment on a Singer Featherweight.
Pls what should I do when my thread lever stuck.
